that was a tad off topic dante...

well, look at mario. we all love(d) mario for a wile...and now we hate him because wherever we go, THERE he is! this is an awsome way to prevent dante from getting worn out.

    mario party 9452 anyone?

if you think about it, this might have to do with dante's inferno.  the game is based on this book, where dante follows vergil through the various levels of hell and encounters three women along the way (trish, lucia, and lady/mary).  since they incorporated most of the content of the book, maybe they decided they could move away from that basis and go in a different direction to keep it fresh.

(did that make any sense?  it did in my head)

i figured that.  well, you know that DMC is based on the book Dante's Inferno, right?  in the book, dante follows vergil into hell and during this, runs into three women, like i said before.  what i'm sayin' is that i guess the first three games were like the "inferno saga" (the games that followed closest to the book.  you keeping up?)  and DMC4 is like leading into a new era not restrained by the outline of the book it was based on (with a fresh start and a new character).  does that make a little more sense?  i don't really know how else to explain it any other way, so if not, tough

hey, i'm smart. i'm  going to college for a ejamacashon

Re: Why isn't Dante the main character?

Devil May Cry is based on three different books or "poems" that were translated from Dante's Divina Comida (DAnte's Divine Comedy) the three books were hell, purgatory and heaven ( I think)

Re: Why isn't Dante the main character?

I think the guys from devil may cry are making a big mistake not making dante the main character for example in metal gear solid 2 they did't make snake the main character and we all know what happened there lol
