    Favorite Dante

I have to commend Capcom for making Dante different in every game. However, I like the Dante from DMC1 overall. Dante from DMC2 lacked personality while Dante from DMC3 was a bit of a jack#$!@. What I mean is, they didn't give him many lines in DMC2 so I can't get a feel for the kind of person he is in the game. In DMC3, he was obnoxious, insensitive, and annoying. When Lady becomes emotional after finding Arkham dead there is no compassion from Dante. Did you even know he was upset about losing Vergil until Lady asked him if he was crying?? There was a bit of emotion from Dante when Vergil goes into hell at the end but it seemed out of character for him after everything else we had seen him do. I mean they were trying to kill each other throughtout the entire game, then Dante is upset that Vergil is leaving. I don't get it. Yes, I realize that since he was young they wanted to make him a bit immature but come on people. No, this does not mean I hated him but I did like Vergil in DMC3 more. Dante from DMC1 actually showed compassion when Mundus killed Griffon. He saved Trish after she betrayed him while still giving his cocky one-liners. What do you guys think?? Do I have a point or am I just nuts??

    Re: Favorite Dante

The Dmc2 Dante acts the way he does is because he is supposed to be made to be emotionally disconnected. the emotional numbness is probably from all that he has gone through. Think...

    Re: Favorite Dante

i think the dmc3 dante is meant to be more immature and playful because he hasnt really lost vergil yet and is still fairly young. dmc2... well, i havent got a clue. naff ending but i did like his extra costume. dmc1 is where hes much older and lost vergil (nelo angelo) and hes matured a lot. especially when hes cries over trish when she "dies" and feels bad for being nasty to her. dont wanna say too much in case i ruin the ending for some.

vergils great. i think as the games went on, hed still be mature but dante will just keep changing.

but dmc2 dante doesnt really show emotion but in dmc1 and 3 he cries (over vergil cept you dont see his tears and trish). i think he did start to mature after vergil fell off that cliff because dante tried to reach out to vergil and save him and you even see his cut glove on the desk at the end and he wouldnt have kept it if it meant nothing.

DMC3 Dante was my favorite, I just turned to fan girl mush over his bad boy charm haha. I don't know why I just prefer his more youthful style in the third game.

    Re: Favorite Dante

I'm actually quite partial to DMC2 Dante, he had a silent type with his badass look that pretty much told everyone "don't f**k with me" but if I had to pick seriously, I would say DMC4 Dante.

    Re: Favorite Dante

Well the very first DMC game I ever played was DMC2, went through and beat all that, than bought DMC1 cause I was at my brother's, and I've grown used to how Dante acts in DMC2 as his original style and gotten too used to it, but I could understand what you mean.

    Re: Favorite Dante

Indeed, I was introduced to Devil May Cry 2, so Dante's style in that is how I will always see him..but I've gotten used to his attitude in the other games and I must say I do enjoy his smart mouth.

DMC3 Dante, because his smart-assness knew no boundaries.

    Re: Favorite Dante

I like DMC 1 Dante becuase he is still cocky and all but he is able to show emotion. Lke when he saves Trish after the battle against Nightmare then points his gun at her that was one of my favorite moments in the entire DMC series.

    Re: Favorite Dante

I have a hard time deciding between DMC1 and 4.

I liked Dante in the first game, because he definitely had the most emotional and striking pieces of dialogue even though the storyline was not the best. The most memorable parts of the game were the scene with Trish after the last Nightmare battle and the ending where Dante and Trish defeat Mundus together.

"Don't come any closer you devil! You may look like my mother, but you are nowhere close to her. You have no soul. You have the face, but you'll never have her fire!"

*shivers* That was quite something. ^_^

But in DMC4 Dante was most certainly the greatest bad ass ever. His oneliners were hilarious. In DMC3 he was often an annoying kid, but in DMC4 I enjoyed every line of his dialogue and had a good laugh listening to them.
