Most of you want to play Dante, that's a given. :)

However, in light of Nero getting most of the attention (As far as we know), I think he has potential to become a great addition to the series, as a character in story and to play as him. He's reluctantly forced into these super-powers, such as the Devil Bringer, and is ashamed of it, whereas Dante and Vergil were explicit users of it in the cutscenes and gameplay.

It seems unfair that Nero is getting such a pasting when we know so little about him, and has already been coined as "The new Raiden" for DMC. He's a character far and beyond the MGS2 character, his coolness was already revealed when he smashed Dante's face in!

Most of the doubt from the fans for DMC4 appear to be based on this one character who may actually turn out to be great, which is in my opinion, a little daft. The gameplay will be as awesome as ever, so let's see how well the story works out with this new dude!

Any other fans here intrigued by Nero's gameplay?

i seemed a little crappy when the main character wouldn't be Dante anymore. so, im not looking forward to it...

Well, I was annoyed too when I found out Dante was replaced for main role, as far as we know, with this dude, but for me I look at the glass being half full, it can take the story in interesting ways. That's my opinion anyway, and I know people will be buying the game regardless of Nero's role.

As there's been really no information about this game for a while, and the information that exists is very thin on the ground, I'm not really looking forward to any element of it that we've seen - nothing deep or interesting enough has been shown to me to make me want to know more i guess.  I look forward to seeing what the finished game will be like.  I am open to giving Nero, and anything else in the game, a shot.  Like everything else, there's not enough information on him either way to reacha  conclusion.

It will be interesting to play someone new like Nero, but i hope he isn't the only the main character of this game. I know somewhere we are bound to play Dante, since he is the one who made Devil May Cry what it is now. Nero is just gonna give us a new point of view of the game, but hopefully thats all.

but if you look at it in the terms on mgs.........raiden is gonna replace snake we know it....the same thing might happen

"might" being the main word, but these are not the same designers so i dont think they are just gonna copy the mgs series. but you never know what they are thinking, i really hope they dont replace dante

I'll wait until I play as Nero before i decide how much I like or dislike him... but that's just me.. I like to make my decisions based on actual experience.

srry, but this sounds kinda shallow to me...

it's true, we dont know anything about him but i think this just makes it interesting, also his remarkable resemblence with Vergil intrigues me

there's no way dante would be an unplayable character, i'm sure there will be a way to unlock him after you've beaten the game :)

i say we give it a shot and see what unfolds :)
