    Why did Dante ditch Rebellion?

Why do you guys think in DMC1 Dante ditched his like almighty blade which he used to cast down a madman in his father's form and that he used to defeat his own flesh and blood Vergil when he saw that even with Yamoto and Force Edge together Vergil was defeated, plus it has no DT, why did Dante use Force Edge in DMC1 insted of Rebellion?

Re: Why did Dante ditch Rebellion?

Nah, he didn't ditch it. He just put it away for safe-keeping so he could use a stronger sword. When he gives the strogner sword to Trish... Dante's dumb like that... he goes and gets the Rebellion back.

OH! Sorry-I read it wrong. I guess he used it as a prize after beating his bro, vergil. When it turned into the sparda sword he gave it to trish and used his old rebellion again.

Re: Why did Dante ditch Rebellion?

i think maybe he used force edge as a way to remember his brother, and to show his dedication to fighting demons because its the right thig to do as opposed to just fighting them for money or fun.  thats what i think

Actually,no. It isn't really the same sword, just the same name. But anyways,I don't know why he ditched the Rebellion, the Force Edge looked too short, and too weak. I think the Rebellion was stronger and more broad, big and bulky. Matter of fact, why did Dante ditch ALL of the weapons that was in DMC3? Except for Force Edge anyways....but he keeps ditching alot of rare, one of a kind weapons that are awesome. Hell,if I had done the exact same things that Dante did in all of the DMC games,I would have a whole closet full of all the weapons I got in the past DMC's.lol

what makes you think it isn't the same rebellion?  they look almost exactly the same

also, he didn't "ditch" all his weapons from previous games.  that was something the makers of the game did.  he couldn't have all the weapons from DMC3 in DMC1.  it wouldn't be fair or challenging.  that would be like starting resident evil with the rocket launcher or ninja gaiden with the dark dragon blade

Yes,I geuss you are right about him not really "ditching" the weapons...but in DMC3 the Rebellion had curve-like structures on each side near the end of the blade, and also it was big and bulky. The Rebellion in DMC2 was a bit smaller and the blade was straight. So how could the blade changed that much? I don't think swords can get that messed up from battling. Besides, the handle was too bulky to change that much. And also, that is probably just what Dante named the sword in DMC2,the sword could not talk and say "my name is Rebellion",nor could that happen in DMC3 of course...but why would he name two different swords the same name? 'Cuz I highly doubt that the swords are the exact same.

Re: Why did Dante ditch Rebellion?

actually, if you look close at rebellion in DMC2, the curves are there at the tip, they just aren't as noticable as in DMC3.

again, it looking different was probably just something the developers did.  its a videogame, things like this get tweaked all the time.  it has the same basic shape right?  just because the blade is a little thinner and the designs on the hilt aren't exactly the same in both games it appears in, doesn't mean its a totally different weapon.

Well, let's just ask Capcom to get it straightened out then...

I think Dante liked Force Edge better. And without Force Edge no mission 22.
