My new working theory is that Nero is Dante's son, but Nero doesn't know it. They look way to simular not to be related, and based on Nero's background and the fact he looks much younger than Dante, I can't see him being Vergil.

I haven't had so many mixed feelings about a game since.....well I actually never really have!!! =S

But then again I doubt Dante would want to name his son after his dead brother.

Guys I think were all looking at this the wrong way, Dante should still be playable and now Nero joins the fun. I know some of you guys posted "A third brother would be crap" but let's consider this, I dunno about the rest of you guys, but back when I played Mega Man 3 on my NES Protoman was by far the coolest part of the game, Protoman was just plain badass. Then Mega Man 7, when the third main character came in. Bass showed up. Yes he's just an evil clone of Mega Man, but even so Bass is by far in my opinion the most badass character in all Mega Man, that includes X, Z and ZX

i like the idea of another main character i don't know why tough. maybe it's because dante's purpose is to much the same hunt demons. but a new character creates much more depth to the plot. like it's mysterious what he does and how he is.

have you guys gone to the official site, there is an intro about a person saying something about an arm changing and a voice wanting power.does this mean that nero was a part of dante.

@Lobuk-Somehow I just don't think Nero's his son, I don't know why, beleive me I don't know why, but I kinda figured Dante's be one of those guys who's you know "I'm gonna be a vergin forever" kinda guys. If not I still don't see Dante attempting to raise a family.

Another thing I hope for is, maybe the game is an RPG (Not a turnbased kind) but you can walk around on your own free will, now THAT would rock.

The game is looking much better from yesterday. I hope Dante is playable.*fingers are crossed*

I know Dante will be playable, you can't have DMC without a playable Dante. Every game so far there's been a DMC1 costume, I don't think this will be any different.

Yeah, I don't beleive Nero is Dante's son, I'm just troughing it out there (although, Kazamru (SP?), you should watch what you say in the future).

I'm amoung the biggest Dante fans you can meet, but I think a change in DMC might help it allot. It's much easier to write a story for a brand new character with a different past. Dante's story, IMO, is told. His mother was killed by demons, he advenged her. His brother was seduced by power, he beat him and in term releised who his father was and why he should be that kind of man. Anything else would seem unimportant in comparision to these two stories. Look at DMC2, no matter how important they tried to make it look, it was just another mission for Dante. Dante's role may very well be served.

Half the reason I like this new characters idea, is because we can watch the series grow. There's no need to be attached to one returning character. People wanted Vergil to have his own game, if they start having new main characters then that could happen. People wanted to play through as Sparda in a telling of what made him a legend, if they start having new main characters then that could happen.

There are allot of things to be worried about, we don't know much about this Nero guy (although the fact he's said to refer to Dante as "the old man getting in the way of my business" might mean he's as cocky as DMC3 Dante, but it's too soon to tell) he might be really cool. He looks cool and has a bad ass name, so let's see. Don't judge this game already just because it looks different, you might be ruining what could be a brand new and great experience just because things didn't go exactly how you expected them too.

Well the only way to find all of this out is to get DMC4 right?!!!!!LOL ^_^

I guess Dante could use a little vacation from being the main character!!!! But only a little!!!!LOL

I actually really wanna see how they link the two characters together!!!! =)

ok, all im saying is that dante is one of if not capcom's best character. i have future ambitions of working 4 capcom, and i don't want to see the company start changing 4 the worse. But in the end, all we can do is have faith right? oh and lobuk, its KazUmaru, just think kazuya from tekken. and look out, kazumaru may just be the next badass.

I really don't know what to think. Here's one thing I'm sure of, though...there should be an official Multiplayer mode. Now, I'm a devoted DMC fan of immense proportions, and I have realised that the only thing Devil May Cry would be good at on the Xbox would be a Mulitplayer Mode, like a deathmatch or a co-op, or something...the deathmatch would only make sense for two players, though. The players, if good enough, could make better battles than were in the clips and stuff.

 Nero's left handed! I saw that immediately when I saw the first pic available! What Lobuk said...you have point: inviting and creating new characters into the series could open up a few windows, and may even answer a few questions, too.

One thing I wanna know is if Dante (the REAL main character) and Nero (the new one) actually fight? Like a full-on Dante vs Vergil kinda thing...that'd be awsome!

To be honest, I'm a little depressed because Dante is no longer the main character. And I've been waiting to play as Dante in DMC4 for a long time now.
