I am not a huge Vergil fan, so I am not bothered about supporting him through the hard times, I simply care about DMC, and want to see that ALL the characters that we know and love are developed realistically, and lumps of their character aren't just ignored because it is easier. Besides, as I keep saying, Nero has not been confirmed to be Vergil. There were some translations today claiming he was described as Dantes "twin brother" and the article called him "Nero Angelo", but other translaters said that those things/words aren't actually in the text, and were likely the product of a biased translaters assumption, so it remains unconfirmed.
Now, if Nero really is Vergil, haha well Vergil fans have a hell of a lot to swallow... tell me Vergil fans, how would you like the character that you love to lose his memory of who he was, dress as Dante, style his hair as Dante, fight like Dante, adandon his own abilities in favour of Dantes, change all his weapons, abandon his code of honour, use guns, and of course, work for a religious order of demon worshippers?
On the flip side, if Nero isn't Vergil, Capcom just added a character who is exactly like Dante in almost every way, and Vergil probably isn't even in DMC4, at all. Leaving Nero either as a 3rd Sparda son? (most lame plot device ever?), a clone? (second most lame plot device ever?) his son? (etc) Sparda reincarnated? (etc) A seperated peice of Vergils mind? (etc) All these, are terrible terrible storyline ideas. And of course there is perhaps the worst concept, which is that Nero just resembles Dante so that the main character has white hair and a red coat, and the resemblance will be completely ignored. lol!
As you can tell, I am in a very negative mood about DMC4 right now.
