The latest issue of the popular Japanese magazine Famitsu, has as promised, provided a large and in charge DMC4 article this month. I checked, and this forum appears to allow scans (or in this case, snaps) so here they are for your curious eyes:

Things have been goddamn crazy for the past few hours, with rumours, speculation and news just flying around back and forth. It’s chaos, pandemonium, the internet (or all PS3/DMC4 related parts anyway) is in turmoil. But let me cut through all that and bring you the most direct news on DMC4.
-DMC4 is set between DMC1 and 2. (this has been obvious for a while)
-The gameplay will be similar to the previous games, especially DMC3, but tweaked based on the fan response to DMC3s combat system
-DMC4 will run at 60fps
-Yuji Shinomura is once again directing the cutscenes (hell yeah!)
-The snaps themselves are very low quality, so the graphics certainly appear below par compared to what we have seen, and some are very hard to make out. People with the magazine and those that squint claim however, that DMC4 looks fantastic.
-Vergil is back as we all expected, and is confirmed to be fully playable. Only in DMC4, his name is Nero. (this will probably become Nelo by the time it hits us over here, but I will say Nero for now) Nero has his hair down and styled like Dante, and is wearing some very Dante-eque clothes. Nero’s main sword for DMC4 is apparently a new weapon called the “Red Queen”, and early translations indicate he will be using guns as well this time. (he can be seen with a revolver esque firearm in the snaps) Which is odd, as it is extremely out of character for him… code of honour etc And the “arm” reference from the teaser site was apparently literal after all… Nero is confirmed to have a demonic right arm, which allows him to pull off “devil actions with the devil bringer” (rough translation) something which was supposedly not possible last gen. News suggests that the arm also gives Nero telekinetic abilities, allowing him to pull and throw enemies. Oh, and according to early news, the TGS demo features Nero, not Dante.
-Very early news went as far as to suggest that Vergil/Nero was the main character of DMC4. Later news confirmed that BOTH Dante and Nero are fully playable, although some translations still indicate that DMC4 will focus more on Nero than Dante, at least in terms of storyline, and tbh Dante gets only a very small section in the article. They make him out be a side character or something… Dante isn’t Lucia damnit… Dante can be seen to use Rebellion and E+I in the snaps, which seem the same as ever. His design is IMO pretty basic, and nothing special, but also, not bad. A quick translation stated “Dante is very grim in this game, unable to settle down”. Hm, DMC2 Dante on the way? I hope not.
-Speaking of DMC2, translations indicate the return of the elemental orb DT system (craaaaap) and many have noticed in terms of large open camera angles, character design and even location, it reeks of DMC2 in many unpleasant ways
-A huge flaming fire elemental enemy can be seen in various pics. Looks like the badass lovechild of a Balrog, Beowulf and Furisaur. The lesser enemies are seen in various places, but I can’t make them out.. THEY look like the lovechild of a blood mary and an Enigma. But I’m not sure.
-The environment appears to be some kind of gothic cityscape, for at least part of the game. (sigh, but the snowy environment looked so awesome…) There is even what appears to be an industrial area. Again, DMC2 returns looks on the cards… However, some shots have backgrounds that look VERY DMC1, with lovely gothic designs. I also notice the area is quite picturesque in places, featuring bright gardens and outdoor areas. Takes me back to when we were guessing locations for the TGS 05 trailer. Maybe they ARE in France after all…
-“Do it! Come on! Big Up! All that!” The combo meter has gone all ghetto on us! (if that offended you… well stop being such a wuss)
-Someone mentioned that you played Nero and Dante defiance style, as in the game alternates between Nero and Dante missions. I would hate that tbh, that system is always unpleasant. I would rather both get their own story arch and missions. This has yet to be confirmed.
OK guys, hope you all found that interesting/exciting/scary. I will keep you all updated on news from the article as it appears. ;)
