Do you guys think Hideo will kill off Snake in this game? Cuz to be honest I'd rather Raiden die and Meryl than my hero Snake. I wanna know if I'm alone in loving the original chracter more than the new ones cuz Snake just kicks ass compared to all other MGS chracters.

There's actually someone on this forum that likes MGS too O O. Well I'm with you 100% on that. Solid Snake is my favorite character and I would hate for him to die. I really dislike Raiden I hope he gets off'd. Meryl is cool and I see no reason to kill her off. 

Hideo has done all but confirm Snake's death. He says that this for sure will be Snake's last mission. So that means Snake will either die, or he will somehow survive and we will get a new main character. Odds are Snake will die along with Liquid Ocelot. To be honest as much as I like Snake, it is better that he dies honorable rather than be a decrepit, suffering old man.

true enough dieing honorably is better than being old snake in a wheel chair somewhere. Although Hideo could pull a Big boss on it and clone Solid Snake??? Maybe. ( I CAN DREAM!! )

That would be sweet. A ton better than a douche like Raiden taking over the MG saga. I would rather a clone of Solid Snake be the successor. That I would settle for. Or I personally think they might make a totally new main character and new name of the game. But still Tactical Espionage Action.

Same here. MGS is my #1 favorite. This is the whole reason I bought a Ps3. And it'll be well worth it. Not only is the game itself gonna be awesome but the online part of it has be extremely hyped. Tell me you guys will be playing it online with me ;)

Hey if they do happen to clone Snake, they would probally confuse the hell out of me, but at least "Snake " would live on.

I think if they make a new chracter 4 the series they might actually change the name, I mean Metal Gear is important to beat in the end, but it has never been the true plot in the end.

Yeah I hear you. Cloning Snake might happen. Since this is the last "MG Solid" they might clone him and call it "MG Gaseous" or whatever. But seriously I hope they continue the genre with a similar character to Snake. I sure as hell dont want Raiden or some other punk like that.

It's ok with me if they change the name. As long as they stay true to the core of the genre. If they have a character similar to Solid and keep the game Tactical Espionage Action they will do good.

Oh by the way, it's official: MGS4 release date is June 12, 2008.

This is the mark of a great game that it makes it's fans scream with anticipation. And when you all say you have played all the Metal Gears you do mean the "Japan Only" Metal Gear titles right?
