    Signatures and Avatars

I saw a thread regarding avatars and another one regarding sigs. I believe that it's better to have all the discussions regarding this matter as well as the instruction for the new members to see in one thread. I think it will be much easier for people to put their signatures and avatars if they open this thread and see the instructions. Also, you can test your sinatures and avatars in this thread. You can ask the others what they think, and if someone wants an avatar or a signature, and doesn't know how to do it, that person can ask here for one. Maybe some member will be glad to help.

    SIGNATURE:

First of all, in order to put your signature or avatar, you need to go to you Profile. You can access your Profile by clicking on your nick:

Where you have the box for signature, you put the IMG link. For this, you need to upload your image to a hosting site. You can try at www.photobucket.com. It's free, and all you need to do is to register, to upload the pic and then to copy the IMG link in the box for your signature. Or, you can try at www.imageshack.de . Here you don't have to register and it's also free.

    Here is an example:

    AVATAR:

The box for your avatar can also be found in your Profile. Where it says Enable Avatar you select Yes, then press the button Choose, upload the image from your PC, and then Save Changes.

I hope this thread will come in handy for some of the members. If there are any other problems regarding the options for your Profile, post it here, and I will try to help you. If needed I will edit and update this thread.

    Re: Signatures and Avatars

Well a good sig can be simple. A few tricks can transform a pic into a sig, now i'd recommend photoshop for all it's Grunge brushes you can get for it. But in paintshop you should be able to find alot of gradients and such you can use, and some special brushes that can help. It's all about style really.

That or get a pic you  like, change the canvas size, add your name in a cool font and bam. simple effective sig.

@UltimaFire: I feel your pain... that's why I started this thread.

@dante929: The best program for making sigs is Photoshop. You can download Photoshop CS2 Tryout from here:

    http://www.adobe.com/products/tryadobe/main.jsp

Just scroll down the page and you will see. You can use it for free for one month.

Your signature is actually huge. But if you need me to resize a sig, just post it here and I will do it.
