You've just said exactly what i want, but no one is getting the idea. I dont "hate" Vergil, i just dont want him unexplainably returned to his original body from DMC3 all of a sudden so people can have his Dark Slayer style and mainly because he looks "cool" for no reason just because of demand, even then it wasnt canon, he barely has more known about him anymore than Nero and hes been in 2 games, but no one complains about him. People go on about Vergil killing Nero and taking over; no i dont want that by any degree because i find Nero extremely likeable. Vergil is obviously linked through Yamato and maybe his arm somehow and that has to be explained because Nero is related to Dante and Vergil.

Also, i dont know how you guys see it, but some of Nero's taunts suggest to me that alittle bit of Vergils peronality may be seeping into Nero's mind the more he has the arm attached. If this is the case i would really like to see Nero start using the Yamato as a secondary weapon for the next game (Because he's "learning" -i guess- from Vergil). Having the Red Queen and Blue Rose as the only weapons gets alittle annoying.

Does that make any sense to any of you?

sadly, capcom just does random stuff to please it's masses. if everyone hated dmc3 and not 2, I can bet you we'd be seeing lucia in the intro, rather than lady.

But regardless,Vergils comin back! Thatll make ALOT of people happy. And that final fantasy,Sonic thing u were talkn bout doesnt really fly with me. Well, Neros taunts and normal speech seem to be himself, but when he posesses Yamato, like in the scene with Agnus, then that seems to be Vergil being personified through him, even though it is Nero himself talking freely. But then again, so little is known about Nero that it could just be him speaking normally...but when having Yamato it seems suspicious and blunt. However, Nero only wants power to save Kyrie and not for himself like Vergil wanted.

I find it odd how Neros Devil Bringer glows varying colours, like:

Illuminous yellow for Kyrie (this seems to be the brightest)
Red for anger
Blue when normal or glowing when something/someone powerful is nearby.

Again though, Nero is related to Dante and Vergil because hes a decendant.

 And Ken:

I hate Sonic and Final Fantasy, im just listening to what others are saying about Vergil.
Ive read through that Kobayashi interview twice now, and it says no where hes alive unless you printscreen because it says it no where, only "dissapeared".

Notice the quotation marks around the power speech? That wasnt Nero talking and it obviously seems like Vergil telling Nero to get more power, which is what Vergil craves. But Nero seems very in control of what hes doing...eh im so confused.

I always thought that in that scene, once Nero's eyes turned red it was Vergil the whole time. I dont know what was said exactly, but he said something about "And if i become a Demon, so be it. Ill endure the exile.... Anything to protect her" I seriously think that was vergil thinking about protecting eva. (I understand that kyrie was attacked while nero was fighting the demons b4 he got the arm, but Nero doesn't really strike me as someone who would want to become a demon)

 

and if it WASNT Vergil speaking, I think he chose to possess Nero because they desire to gain more power for the exact same reasons: to protect a woman. Vergil didn't want to gain power just to gain it, he wanted it so he wouldnt have to go through anything like losing his mother without being able to do anything about it again.

Haha well I'm glad a lot of answers finally came out. And like I and others have been saying is pretty much right.

You know what I find very funny is now that Kobayashi has confirmed Vergil has a connection with Nero, now NerosDevil keeps saying things like "it obviously is Vergil." Even though he was arguing that Vergil had nothing to do with Nero until he was blue in the face! Lmao

And like Cobalt, I find it quite strange that now you are suddenly so sure that Vergil's soul is in Nero's arm, even though that has been obvious for quite some time already. Earlier you said that Vergil has nothing to do with Nero. Did you really need Kobayashi's statement to believe that? :P

Ive always thought Vergil was there, but i wasnt sure whether it was his arm or just Yamato doing so after the scene.

Nero seems to be knowing what hes saying, the "power...give me more...power!" was Nero quoting what the voice echoing to him. Nero seems very in control what hes doing with himself, he doesnt seem to be posessed by Vergil. Vergil has always wanted power from my knowledge to follow Spardas path even before Evas death, her death was more encouragement for him, not solely him just wanting power because of Eva.
Nero and Kyrie are different to Vergil and Eva in terms of love and how long they spent together, and maybe knowing what kind of bond they had, since they probably had little of it because she was killed. Vergil disreguarded humans and didnt care about them, they could die for all he cared, including his brother Dante.
Nero seems VERY like a cross between Sparda and Dante to me more than Vergil:

Nero is a demon, Kyrie is human
They both love each other like Sparda and Eva
Nero has the personality of wanting to help others, including the ones he loves
Nero gave a necklace to Kyrie, like Sparda gave the amulet to Eva.
Eva must have accpeted Sparda as a demon, much like Kyrie to Nero.

Nero seems like a reincarnation more than anything, he seems far from wanting power and destruction, along with a light-hearted personality, unlike Vergils who seems cold and unforgiving.
I also dont get where people think its all Evas death that caused him to be the way he is, because Dante isnt that way.

Different people take things differently. The death of Eva probably was not as traumatizing for Dante as it was for Vergil.
