Mission 1: Raid on Datenshi Castle

Datenshi Castle, one of Vigoor's must notable landmarks, has been ceased by the Fiends. Strategically, the Castle is an impregnable fortress and an important outpost of the resistance. Someone on the inside must've been the one responsible for the success of the demon raid...

 

*SWOOSH*

Feathers slithering through the wind, swaying softly to the passing currents. Those of a hayabusa bird that flutters and rides the sky, surveying the wreckage below and the havoc spread by the Fiends at Dateshi Castle, once a magnificent edifice, now a blazing inferno amidst the wilderness of the land. The flames tearing wildly through the night, reaching for the celestial embodiments above. The bird watches attentively as demons and beasts extinguish the life of valiant men and women that once stood against them. The Fiends’ methods are swift and relentless, terrifyingly efficient.
Blood and fire, that’s all that remains at Datenshi Castle, all that is reflected upon the black orbs that are the hayabusa’s eyes.

Soon, another figure joins the noble animal in flight; much bigger in size, yet displaying the same wings. Both of them circle the skies above the battlefield, watching and evaluating the situation carefully. Knowing it’s time to act, the man releases the straps of his wing-like glider and free falls into the vastness below, diving and arrowing through the rising ashes as his scarf struggles against the wind with energetic flaps. The hayabusa bird also descends along beside him, almost as if it was a graceful and exciting race.

Upon reaching the fire, the plummeting ninja readies himself to land and draws a sword from the red sheath case he carries on his back. He swings the blade with unparalleled skill and mastery, parting the flames to his will, until finally spinning like a human windmill when he’s mere feet away from the ground.

 

-“I-it’s hopeless! Lost, everything, LOST!”-

One of the guards finally snaps, finding himself cornered by a lizard-like creature; razor-sharp claws and endless rows of fangs threatening to end his life.

*SHACK*

Suddenly, everything goes quiet. The Fiend’s eyes travel from the pending prey onto its merciless executioner. Standing there, over its shoulders is Seiken Hayabusa, his sword piercing through the back of its skull all the way to its open jaws. The creature then tumbles to the ground, lifeless.

-“Oh, praise be the heavens you’re here! Master Hayabusa, please, you must save our shogun, I beg of you!”-

Sei glances impassively at the sentry through his only remaining eye and then turns his focus towards the fiery trail that leads into the main tower. Sheathing his sword, the hayabusa bird finally catches up to its master and stands over his shoulder.

That is how the battle starts...that is how a new legend begins.

-the castle is almost losed.Sigenmoto said as he standet tall in near mountain.a ninja appeares behind him bowing and saying

-we are ready to take down the fiends in front of the gate.

-good we must lure their forces out of the castle.Sigenmoto said

the ninja bowed again then dissapearing to the darkness.

-that should make things more easier inside master Hayabusha.He then said bowing slightly towards the castle

he turned around and sliced his fan throught the air as signal to the ninjas who now charget towards the the outer castle defending demons.the demons were cought of guard and unprepared they sendet a messenger inside to the castle to get them help.

-now then do they gaught the pait???said Sigenmoto and watched again to the castle

A dark clad figyer sat prone atop the Castle, he had arived moments ago. Hearing about the Castles fall to the Fiends, he knew it was a task he could not turn down.  "Eh... I prefer a wide open space... but I must become proficiant in all Zones of combat". squteing down and leaning over the edge he observed the many floores that had to be cleared, and noticed all of the human forces pooling at the bottom. "I supose il just work my way down... Moast the demons will moast likely meet them, would they suspect an attack from the top floor first?"

a strong gust of wind blew his Ivory hair infront of his eyes, and the warrior quickly slid the top part to his mask on, letting the Wind, grace, and courage Kanji show. it had been three years sence he had been within his Clan's walls. sent out to proove himself as Kami. wich for the eagle crown clan was a mutch honerd symbalisation, of being of the greatest warriors...

"Shun Hasegawa!" he stood up after calling his own name down. "The soon to be Kami comences his raid on Datenshi Castle!" he opend his palm, and slamed his fist into it, bowing his head. "Wind carry me, Courage guide me.... And Grace guide my arm!" he then Remooved an over sized Shruken from his back, grabbing one of the blades and tossed it straight up in the air and dived off of the edge of the Castle, arms pointed behind him.

A fiend made its patroll, within the roof was some what empty...  there was a window, and becomeing curious, it walked over twords it to check the battle bellow....

admeediatly the grapples on Shun's arms firedm off, Grabing on to the wall of the Castle, and pulled shun back up into the first opening he could climb threw, his fett entered first, and met with a fleshy substance, but still, the momentum of the grapple launched Shun into the middle of the Room. admeediatly slideing and twisting in the same motion, Shun soon discovered, he had struck down a Fiend, wich was starting to get up. "oh no you dont!" the Tanto slipped into his hand, and throwing it under style, it didnt even spin or wabble, flying like an arrow right into the Fiends skull. with a shriek of pain, the beast collapsed, and he heard comotion from a lower floor.

"It seems, Grace and Stealth wont be an open option for me..." he grabed for the large glaive, and went back to retrieve his Tanto.

Rushing through coal and fire, Sei made his way to the imposing steps that preceded the central tower's fachade. Once there, he couldn’t avoid being detected by several dozen Fiends that roamed the courtyard. All of them were small in stature, with pink skin, and displaying a single eye at the tip of their heads, which were set ablaze with a blue incandescence that burned upwards, untamed.

Upon being spotted, Sei leapt high int the air and reached swiftly for his kunais, tossing the projectiles with deadly precision at his foes...

 

 

...

 

 

White-blonde hair swayed gracefully with the wind as the girl dove down from the sky. Beside the small frame of the young woman with moonstone eyes were two men of strong and nimble builds; obviously guards. One had pure silver hair that whipped around his face, the other with the deepest of black pulled partially into a ponytail. All three were graced with coloured highlights of their lineage; her of violet, silver with blue and green to black.

 

Something was happening with this place and though it really wouldn't concern them in the long run, the ever curious princess had persuaded permission to check it out. Their own wars had ended before her birth...

 

As they descended, the enygmatic maiden and her escorts were suddenly greeted by a grayish-brown and white hayabusa bird that zoomed around them in graceful spirals.

 

The three slowed their descent and watched the bird closely. She then shifted into a pure Falcon form, white-blonde with unwinding spirals of violet, approaching the bird cautiously. As to be expected, her guards followed suit and wouldn't let any possibility of harm come her way.

 

She glanced back at the burning carnage below before letting out the powerful screech of a royal Falcon; a greeting and acknowledgement.

 

*KAH-CHIN*

 

The clash of steel resounded through the air as the struggle below intensified; a single man stood against numerous creatures as they struck at him with pike-like bone claws.

 

The noise drew her attention once more. She spiralled around the hayabusa bird before continuing her dive, this time to aid the man.

She ordered her guards to circle around behind the man and take out the ones at his back. as she landed gracefully from impossible speeds, shifting to demi form just in time, on her feet. She then drew a long, jagged dagger of Falcon-craft, drenched in poison.

 

Skillfully and viciously, she sliced at the demons and sent them into fits of insanity as the poison quickly targetted their powers, destroying them utterly. The base poison would take effect and cause the kill, otherwise harmless if their powers hadn't been taken care of first.

 

At this, Sei acknowledged the girl's arrival and shifted his attention towards her once the last remaining Fiends tumbled, vanquished and defeated, to the ground. Still, he seemed unimpressed and emotionless.

 

-"A female warrior from the Falcon Lineage I presume..."- spoke Sei at the time he sheathed his sword back in its case.

 

Her guards were quick to return to her sides as she set her blade away and idly shoved her hair away from her face and about her exposed shoulders and collarbones. She wasn't in a royal's clothes, but a dancer's tube top and flowing wrapped skirt and for good reason. Outside her home, anyone could do anything.

She offered a peaceful smile and bowed her head; her hair rippling about her shoulders like liquified jewels

 

"Indeed..."

 

She sized him up closely before stepping forward.

 

"May I ask what is happening? For what reason do these fiends attack? And how...I am disappointed to find the reputation of this place betrayed..."

 

As a Falcon usually was for matters not concerning their own lineage, she had a playfulness to her inquiry. The only cause for concern and her coming at all was the wave of power she sensed from the demons.

 

-"That's what I'm here to find out..."-

 

With that, Sei turned his back on her and took his leave as he then ascended through the stone steps that lead deeper into the palace.

 

Suddenly, the dark haired Falcon man stepped forward angrily to stop him.

 

"You will show appreciation for her aid! She could have easily been on the other end destroying you, FILTH!"

 

Her face contorted slightly, seeming to want to stop him, but it was already too late. She watched Sei closely to see his reaction...

i big crew of demons runned out to block  the attackers and soon the ninjas were outnumbered.

-now then lets move to the next plan.Sigenmoto said and cutted the air whit his fan

the ninjas started to retreat and demons followed.

-now ambush troops charge out!Sigenmoto yelled and stepped few step forward

the ambush troops charget out behind the demons and after it few charged from botth of the sides and now demons were outnumbered.

-hmm that should do the trick now it should be more easier in there. lord hayabusa.Sigenmoto said again and turned towards the castle again.

samely a ninja appeared behind him he kneed and said.

-enemy reanforces spotted coming out in the road.

-damm...i suppose they dont know that we are here prepare the ambush.Sigenmoto said and cutted the air whit his fan

Shun was exspecting to be a few floores down already, but, his plan was not going so smoothly, Fiends continued to climb up to meet the Ninja warrior. he ran the Glaive threw a fiend, and twisted the handle once, it triggered a mechinism withing the glaive to blast the Daggers out of the Glaive, wich tore threw the Find and into a few others behind it.

he set his foot on to the original target and pulled the bladeless glaive out. Damn... I dont even have time to reload? a fiend lept over its fallen comrad Shun raised his arm in defence. and the find howled in victory as he exstended his claws down on him...

its prievious howl was followed by a howl of pain, the bloody Shrukin held tightly in Shun's hand, wich had came from the window to the other side of the room. the air born Fiend's blood sprayed downword, where its body soon fell.

ok... lets try another tactic Mear brute force was not his style. and he could see himself louseing this battle. he whipped around, his free hand dropping a few spiked Caltraps and made for the window, Fiends in pursuit. as he made for the window he doved out of it mutch like before!. the the few fiends that followed, couldent stop due to pushing there now bleeding feet, and plumeted to there death.

the wind againsed his face felt good, and the thrill of falling was even better... he always dreamed of haveing wings to further enjoy the sensation... his eyes shot open and he spun around to view his next entry point, fireing the grapples to a higher floor, and swong his way to a mid-section floor. but this time, he landed on a wall, and let him self down onto a small railing. lets be more cautious this time...

Sei stopped dead on his tracks as the Falcon guard stood in front of him, merely glancing at his offender with indifference. The young Hayabusa then reached for something in his belt, pulling out a menacing looking four-hook grapple with a rope tied at the end of it.

-"Excuse me..."-

With that, Sei front flipped onto the grunt's shoulders and then propelled himself upwards at the time he flung the grapple at the central tower's wall. As the device ascended, the hayabusa bird took hold of it and elevated it even more, after which Sei used it to climb up the side of the edifice. He couldn't leave Sigenmoto and his men waiting for long. He had to complete the mission quickly one way or another.

Upon reaching a certain railing, the young ninja noticed someone else's grapples were already hanging from the upper floors. Someone beside him had intruded into the building...

Shun was already inside. This time, his stealthy insertion seemed to be working quite well; his arms and legs outstretched as he propped himself between two walls, his back to the cieling while another Fiend made its patrol.

Suddenly, what appeared to be undiscernible mumbling reached Shun's ears as he approached the Shogun's chamber. A conversation was taking place behind the heavy doors displaying golden dragon and tiger decoirs.

Reaching into his shirt, he carefully withdrew what looket like a cup; it had a strange syrup on the rims and was attached to a long, thin piece of string.

"...let’s see if this piece of junk works..."

He then tossed it and the syrup solvent stuck to the door. On the other end of the string, Shun slipped a simuler cup-like object to his ear, trying to use one of his Family's many tools to listen in.

-"...about them."- spoke some kind of distorted voice, almost metallic.

-"The fools don't suspect a thing. Once IT comes here, they'll have their hands too full to realize what's going on. Also, I don't expect them to survive the ensuing battle, but at least they'll give us a good headstart."-

The other voice was more human, clearly belonging to a man of young age. Also, mixed along their chat were the moans and huffs of a third individual. Probably a tortured prisoner.

Shun remained very still, as if part of the very Castle.

"I should warn them all...but how?...I should first find out what is in there..."

He listend on, waiting for the perfect time to spring inside.

-"What if IT proves to be more than we could ever handle?"- replied the metallic voice.

-"Hah, don't be ridiculous! Do you think this Castle was chosen for the raid just because it was an important militant center of the resitance? It was all a set up to lure Hayabusa and the others here! Warriors of their caliber will prove to be more than a match for IT, and in the given case that they were defeated, I'll just have to take care of things myself."-

"...What?" Shun looked to the room. "That’s enough for me...."

He then gave the cup a tug, which retracted back to his hand and quickly stashed it away.

"Time for me to make my move...".

Shun hopped down from the cieling, landing silently. As he did, he suddenly noticed something was out of place in the whole picture. The room that stood before him was indeed the Shogun's quarters, yet, it was completely unguarded. Since his entrance into the building he'd seen it; security was extremely light, even though the man inside the room had just said they were expecting them.

Cautiously, he approached the door, whipping around once just in case of a sneak attack. He slid the Tanto from his waist...if need be, he would take on at least one fiend in a fell swoop. With that, he slid the door open wordlessly.

-"Wait!"- yelled out Sei as he rushed through the corridor towards Shun. The moment he slid the door open, a faint clicking sound became audible on the other side.

"Oh course..."

He leapt to the wall and propelled himself to the ceiling to avoid any trap... unless of course it was directed upward in the first place...or maybe just everywhere.

*BOOOOM*

soonly after every ninja and soldier had leaved the road an army of demons appeared brhind the corner.demons werent in alert stage even when there was no one guarding the main keep

-NOW ATTACK!Sigenmoto declared as he charged out of his hiding place using cut to kill as many as he could

the ninjas attacked and demons were tooken by suprise still they had overal men power againts the ninjas

-Do not let them enter the keep it would be fatal blow to this mission.Sigenmoto said and sendet blast to kill few demons.

the ninjas defendet as they could but now when they didnt have the advantage of ambush and more demons were charging towards them they were in big trouple

-second wawe move.Sigenmoto said and another ambush was succesfully executed.

the batle was wery equal.Sigenmoto grapped few shuriken from his pocket then throwning tjem in exelent accurary to demons then he used his slash tecnique to kill rest near of the keep.

-our lord would be proud of us if he would saw us now.Sigenmoto said to his troops as engourage

"rest of them have been gaught into pincers this should be much easier than facing them onlyy by front...ofcource their brutal strenght make them hard to be fought in open field..."Sigenmoto think to him self

-prepare ambush troops.sigenmoto ordered

-as we move as pincer the two ambush troops will attack from sides thus we got a total surround and enemy would be crushed easy.Sigenmoto explained

-now main forces attack!he then declared and pointed his fan towards the demon crew

The topmost floor of the central tower had turned into nothing more than a thick cumulus of flames and smoke that rose to the heavens and mixed themselves with the nimbus above, but soon enough, a strong wind  blew by and removed the dense curtain of destruction that had been left behind by the preceding explosion.

 

Shun kicked a wooden plank off of himself; his back embedded into the floor further than his feet and arms.

 

"...Well....Could have been worse..."

 

He sat up from the crater he’d made and checked to see if his family blade was still intact, happy to find it was.

 

Kneeling close to him was Sei himself, who was enclosing the both of them within a chi barrier that had protected them from most of the blast's impact.

 

-"You've arrived sooner than expected..."- spoke the metallic voice Shun recognized as the one from the previous conversation. An individual clad in dark samurai armor now stood before them; his face a blazing blue flame that seeped out from a fanged facial cover.

 

"You look uglier than expected." Shun returned in a mocking tone, almost trying to sound metallic, but failing as he brushed himself off. "Oh, hello there, Sei".

 

Just overhead, the three Falcons circled, watching them closely and listening in. Even from their height, if they wanted to know what they were saying, they could achieve it. The princess screeched out and dove again, landing like before near them.

 

Sei glanced briefly at Shun as this last one called out his name and then at Keyi as she landed, but his attention soon shifted elsewhere as the hayabusa bird screeched in alarm. Flapping a few feet away from them, the noble creature pointed the spot where someone else was buried. Also, laying very close to the samurai Fiend was the charcoaled corpse of a man.

 

-"The shogun..."- murmured Sei at the time he dispelled the barrier.

 

"Damn" Shun commented, turning to the metallic figure. "Like it or not, I’m blaming you for that!"

 

He whipped the oversized Shuriken at it, not taking enough time to sit there and ask what happend. His disappointment in being the Shogun’s demise hidden.

 

Keyi shook her head and rolled her eyes at the bickering men. She completed it bluntly with, "Don't you two have something important to do?"

 

The shuriken zoomed swiftly through the air and onto the samurai’s armor as several sparks sprouted from the impact, along with a resounding clink. Still, the Fiend was completely unscathed.

 

-"The aspiring Kami, is it?"- spoke the metallic being as it stared down at Shun's weapon, which laid static on the floor beneath him.

".... Maybe?"

 

Shun reached for another weapon, which happend to be the Tanto.

 

"You must be the metallic guy who was enjoying a conversation with someone until I opened that door?" he accused and shrugged at the same time.

 

-“Ah, so it was you the one eavesdropping...”- replied the samurai, unamused.

 

Keyi wondered if it would be best to leave them to die, but stayed anyway. It pleased her greatly to see the worried looks on her guard's faces; she wasn't supposed to be in a path of danger, but nor could they disobey her.

She stepped forward and tied a beautiful violet cloth around her eyes to kill her vision. It glowed brightly when in place. Then, she drew several layers of magick, balling it in her palm and then rising her arms above her head, wrists crossed and the magick split between both hands. With a single step and a flap of her wings, she was invisible to all but her Falcon guards as she thrust forward and completely through the samurai, her taloned fingers first. After leaving through his back, instead of violet magick in her hands, something bright red was there...it writhed and whipped angrily.

 

-"Nice try, your highness."- spoke the Fiend as it turned its vision in her direction -"But next time, you might want to aim for the real thing."-

 

With that, the samurai rose his Kitetsu sword from his side; a red string of energy emerging from it and onto Keyi's hand.

 

-"This blade hungers for the souls of those it executes."-

 

*FWASHINK*

 

The weapon was no longer in the Fiend's hand. Instead, it had lodged itself right into the chest of one of the Falcon guards that escorted the princess.

 

-"You'll make a fine addition."-

 

Immediately after, the sword pulled back on its own and returned to its master's grip, ripping a strange blue aura from the sentry it had just pierced.

 

"...creepy.” expressed Shun “Sei, instead of gawking at the big guy, care to give us a hand?"

 

Setting the Tanto and Glaiv aside, Shun instead drew his own blade into his hands and took a step forward, bringing the sword onto the Fiend’s own. The attack did no more than cause its edge to vibrate, but not just a little... a lot, much more than normal, as Shun attempted to disarm the Fiend.

 

As all of this happened, Sei had approached the place his bird had pointed before and dug through the debris.

*COUGH COUGH*

The coughing that emerged belonged to someone under the rubble. Sei removed the wreckage as fast as he could and finally came face to face with a beautiful blue-eyed, blonde-haired young man; his childhood friend and comrade in arms...

 

-“Jaquio!”- exclaimed Sei as he took hold of his friend and lifted him a bit by the back. This last one simply opened his eyes slowly and stared at Sei wearily.

 

-“Sei, is that really you?”-

The young Hayabusa nodded at the time he removed everything covering his face and head.

 

-“Sei...I’m so glad you came.”-
-“What happened?! Jaquio, where are the other clan members?”-
-“*Cough cough* The shogun...he betrayed us...he poisoned our water supply and allowed the Fiends inside the Castle. We were too weakened by the time we realized what was going on...”-

 

Sei’s eye narrowed with concern.

 

-“The shogun?! Why would he...”-

-“Listen, there isn’t much time left. Pretending to be dead on the floor, I listened up on the shogun and that Fiend’s conversation. They were talking about some kind of trap, a set up to bring the most powerful members of the Dragon Lineage here, to bring you and other warriors of notable strength to this place...gather them at a single point.”-

-“Why?”-

 

Jaquio reached for his friend’s shirt and clutched it tightly within his grasp.

 

-“It’s coming, Sei...the Black Dragon.”-

 

Sei’s eye widened momentarily as he came to a dire realization.

 

-“When enough bloodshed and malice are gathered...when mankind’s worst traits and emotions come together at a specific location...IT will unavoidably show up.”-

-“We must warn the others! Come on, I’ll carry you back to the...”-

-“It’s too late for me. That samurai...Doku...I was severely wounded in our battle.”-

 

It was then that Sei noticed it; a deep crimson gash running across his friend’s torso.

 

-“No...Jaquio...”-

-“It’s alright, Sei. There’s no greater honor for a ninja than dying on a mission. *cough cough* Besides, the only reason I held up until now, was to relay this information to you...to save you...to save our brothers...to save...”-

 

With the exception of burning wood and the clash of steel in the background, everything went silent after Jaquio’s last words. Sei’s eye closed mournfully as he deposited the lifeless body of his friend gently on the ground, but almost immediately after, it opened again fiercely with new determination.

 

-“Doku...”-

Sigenmotos plan had proven to be succesfull now only few scattered demon was fighting.Sigenmoto sendet a blast to few then looking towards the castle

-What is happening in there?he thinked

a ninja runned next to him kneeing and then speaking

-Sir we have spotted more fiends charging out from the hills

-damm quickly back to castle they must not get in!Sigenmoto replied

-sir these demons are not running towards the castle...they are charging towards us.the ninja said

what!!!everybody we have no choice but to fight!sigenmoto said

samely somebody stapped him from his back and a sword pierced out a litle bit from his left hand

same ninja that had informed the attack had tried to attack sigenmoto from his back but another ninja had tried to block the attack then the ninja that had betrayed him was killed

-what!?!?!....a betrayal?Sigenmoto said as he falled towards the earth and few ninjas grapped him

samely lot of more ninjas attacked and soon they were fighting each other

-...may our lord forgive us reatreat.Sigenmoto said as he was helped to cover

"HuuuuuuUUUAAAAH!" Shun rose his blade in a diagnal slash upward, his aim the Fiends blade rather then attacking its body. Times like this.... I wish I had a Huzrigachi sword

Kazu was three years older then him, rounded off atleast, Shun was just forteen, Kazu , Eighteen, only only haveing three months before there three year difrence. it was not abnormal for a Hasegawa to learn off of a Huzrigachi, though, Shun's original Sensai was not Kazu... infact, there training sessions, were done After Shuns original training. "Reckless" Kazu stated, almoast coldly, his own blade, made of wood, just as Shuns was. he slapped it aside, and stepping around, turning to Shun's back, and slapped his shoulder.

"I just killed you... Again". he dropped the wooden blade to the floor, and cropssed his arms. "you must work on keeping your reckless attacks at bay". Shun, exsausted, waved his hand. "Yes Kazu...". the young Kami smirked and set his hand on Shuns head messing up his hair. "Maybe you should Train with Kunoichi". "Aw, no way!, I want to train with the best to be the best". Shuns statement drew a sour face upon Kazu. "You should not asume, just because you train wit me, means your going to be as good, one should only use there masters stepping stones, then build there own Bridge".

"..." Shun never could understand what Kazu ment when he spoke like that, but nodded any way. "So...Kazu, I hear every one talking about Huzrigachi swords...". the Kami again, set a smile apon his face. "Maybe later I can show you, but as of right now, I must atend other matters".

Shun always wished he could become a Kami as fast as Kazu did, it only took him two years, rather then takeing the Averige man five... it was so strange, it was a rule for people to take five years to complete tasks, an dbe Judged on them, to see if they wer worthy... But both Kazu, and Kunoichi, were given there Eagle crowns, within two years...
