    Re: Who should play Dante?

You have a point but it helps to be able to do the lavitating thing and lift cars and read peoples body movements

How about we get criss angle to do all the magic stuff and  reuben langdon for the fighting

    Re: Who should play Dante?

Except Dante DOESN'T levitate or lift cars or read people's body movements.

He fights. He fights with guns. He fights with a sword. He fights with gauntlets. He fights with nunchucks. He even fights as a monster-demon-thing.

Langdon can do all of that.

A TV magician's optical illusions are cool, but they are not Devil May Cry.

Dream, no offence, but I keep getting this feeling that if Langdon isn't in DMC4 you're gonna hate the game.

    Re: Who should play Dante?

Okay, I'd be the first to tell ya that the guy who did all the DMC3 stuff was AWESOME, but I'm stickin' to my Criss Angel theory. Whoever  said "..ooo we don't need him to levitate cars and do card tricks.." Really, did ya come up with that all by yourself? Anyways, as far as fighting is concerned, anybody whoose actually watched MINDFREAK knows that a lot of Criss Angels stunts are based on REAL "mind over matter" abilities that some people have mastered through YEARS of training. Not to mention the face that he's also studied the martial arts for most of his life, and is a trained fighter. I doubt he'd have any difficulty twirling around prop swords on a movie set. It's more important that who plays Dante LOOKS like him, which he does, and that he can deliver all those great one-liners in that cocky/badass sorta style, which he would also have little difficulty doing. So lay off the weapons training argument, did Ben Afleck not do some cheap weapons stunts in Daredevil!? I'm sorry, but if that asswipe can do it, you'd have a hard time convincing me that Angel couldn't pull it off.

Here's someting to remember, the DMC movie, if it's still being made or was ever being made, I haven't heard anything new about it snice DMC4 was annouched, is supposed to be filming in Japan. Any actor or what have you from NA probably isn't gonna have anything to do with the movie.

    Re: Who should play Dante?

I will admit to being a Langdon fangirl. He is the single person who has done the most for the character of Dante, and I think the more we see of him in the future the better.

if the movie is made in Japan, that's no problem either. Langdon speaks fluent japanese and has been getting parts in Japanese cinema for a long time.

I understand you have a thing for this Angel person, but for a role that is as physical as Dante's would be you wouldn't want a guy with just months of weapon's training: you'd want a guy who'd been doing that stuff his whole life. It's a lot more then "twirling prop swords" on a movie set.

Besides, Does this Angel person even LIKE DMC? The number one thing, I'd think, would be to get an actor who already knows and loves the character. Dante is more then just a one-liner and a flashy sword trick: he has a personality that is important to get right. I'd think we, being fans of the series, would agree on that.

    Re: Who should play Dante?

I'll say this much, if it comes down between Langdon and Angel I'd choose Langon any day of the week. No offence to Chris Angel fans, but I'd rather a Dante that doesn't have things like a TV Show like MindFreak and is a Magician that would over shadow the character or have people think of the movie as, "Oh yeah, that MindFreak movie!".

Not to mention, I know for a fact Langdon has many many many less anti-fanboys (haters) then Angel does.

    Re: Who should play Dante?

I think Criss Angel the Mind Freak might make a decent dante. Turn his hair white and there you go. He has that rocker goth look, and the guys in damn good shape, plus he has a cool voice and a martial arts background.

    Re: Who should play Dante?

But he has no experience with Devil May Cry or Dante. Both of those are musts in my book.

Track down the Live Action Stunt Test Langdon did and then tell me you don't think he's the perfect Dante.

Lets put it this way. the person they modled Dante and vergil... off why not use him... ive seen him can't rem his name but he looks exactly like them but a tiny but older and black hair... he could play both parts seen as there twins just with his hair up as vergil...

    Re: Who should play Dante?

I very much doubt thier faces were modeled after an actual person. Even if they were, that's no reason to give him the part. He might be a bad actor, he might be unable to do any stunts, he might be a fainting hypocondriac, I don't know. I'm not even convinced he exists.
