    Solomon’s Mansion, Upper Balcony

[Solomon led Serena to the Upper Balcony resting on the fourth floor of his mansion; it was here he would always look out across the horizon deep in thought, thinking of the past and the future…. They both just stood there watching the sky, not saying a word to one another. A warm breeze swept up from the north, blowing Serena’s hair back, her father looked at her, seeing so much of his dead wife in his daughter, but yet not….]

Serena: Your not looking well father. [Serena said, breaking the silence.]

Solomon: Yes, [coughing] you noticed? Heh, I’m getting old, too old, even for an old dog like me. [Looking on as a flock of birds flew over into his garden, today was such a peaceful day...] How is Mary?

Serena: The same as always, she does send her regards.

    Solomon: Hmm, indeed.

Serena: She said you requested me.

Solomon: I thought it was the right time, after all you been up in that shrine for almost three hundred years, times have really changed since your isolation.

Serena: I wouldn’t call it isolation.

Solomon: Oh? And just what would you say it was? [Speaking in a musing tone.]

Serena: [She was about to speak, but the words never came, her gaze turned quickly from him to the garden.] I-I don’t know…

Solomon: Hmph…[leaning against the railing, looking out over the trees. Casually he changed the subject] Today is her 50th birthday.

    Serena: Who?.. Oh…

Solomon: She knows a lot about you, when she was an agent of Brimstone; she spent most of her time, reading up about you, checking your whereabouts, always asking me to tell stories about you. She admires you a lot. I’m sure that’s why she joined.

Serena: Yet I know nothing about her…Why? [gripping the railing…] Why did you never tell me!?

Solomon: It was hard to keep in touch with you.

Serena: Liar! [Pointing a finger] I know you have always been keeping a watchful eye on me!

[That pale eye of his seamed to twinkle a bit. How hard she tried to stand her ground, but that eye…it broke her. She just looked away when a kind elderly voice broke the now still silence.]

Katrina: Goodness! What is all this yelling about? Quiet girl! Other people live here, and we do have guests staying with us!

[Serena whirled about, meeting the gaze of an old woman. Her face was turned in a wrinkly old smile. Such a kind face…one she had only seen like it long ago… In her hands, she held a tray of tea and some sort of sweet bread, freshly baked. Serena’s senses were overwhelmed of the bread, and Katrina’s scent, there was something about it...]

Katrina: [Smiling broadly, holding out the tray in front of Serena.] Tea?

Serena: [Shocked] She smells like…[Looking over at Solomon, who returned the look with a quiet nod.] yes…[Picking up a cup.] T-thank you…

Katrina: Such a lovely young girl. [Touching Serena’s cheek, stroking it tenderly. She walked over to Solomon, offering him a cup.] So, have you had a chance to get to know Serenity?

    Serena: I…

Katrina: Oh, forgive me! My mind is slipping at my age, I’m Katrina, Serenity’s…

    Serena: Mother…

Katrina: Yes, [Motioning for her to come sit down at the small metal table. She planted her aged frame in one of the chairs, inviting Serena to sit in the one next to hers] Come, come, lets all sit down and have a little chat!

[Reluctantly, Serena walked over and sat down next to Katrina, who placed a hand on her knee.]

Katrina: I bet she was quite shocked to find you down in the town. I was hoping to see you before she did. [Looking over at her step-daughter with such a proud look.] I’ve only see you in paintings, but my you are such a lovely woman. Just like my ancestor.

    Serena: You’re…

Katrina: Yes…I’m descended from your mother’s bloodline…[Thinking hard] I believe from either her brother or one of her sisters. Ha ha, it’s hard to be exact, most of the records of our family were mostly lost to time. But that’s how it is in this world.

[Solomon quietly took a set next to Katrina, snatching up a piece of bread and a cup of tea. He just listened as the two conversed.]

Katrina: I met your father a long time ago, during the First World War. Oh I was such a looker back then. [Her pale face slightly turned pink] He knew how to sweep a woman off her feet. What a charmer!

Serena: [Looking over to her father] So I have been told…

Katrina: I don’t want to bother you with all the tasty details, we have enough time to talk about that later. But tell me, what do you think Vergil? Quite the handsome young man isn’t he?

Serena: Vergil?...[She was silent for a moment before answering] Just who is he?

Katrina: [Laughing] For someone who is supposed to be kept in high regards by Sparda, you really are not very astute are you? [Smiling at the dumbfounded Serena] …Vergil is Sparda’s son.

    Solomon’s Library

[Vergil sat alone, searching through one of the many books Solomon had collected over the years. He had gone through almost all of them; the ones that only interested him that is. Yet right now he could not think about his quest, right now he was more interest in this new visitor. The duel from earlier replayed repeatedly in his mind. She was incredible, truly skillful, if Serenity had not shown up Vergil would have liked to see the true outcome. Her skill was that of a great Swordmaster. She truly could be considered a successor to “His” skill.]

Vergil: Serena…[Finding himself unable to read anymore, he placed the book onto the table and walked out.]

    Monastery, Southwest, Nordat.

    Monk: ???

[Doing his evening rounds, the lowly old monk noticed someone kneeling at the front of the Shrine; it was a tattooed woman scantily clad. As he came closer, he noticed the tattoos on her body pulsing, bleeding slowly. A pool of blood was surrounding her. He wrapped the beads around his hand slowly…]

Monk: [Approaching] Ah, yes my dear? Is there something I can help you with?

Rouge: [Without turning to face him.] No, that is quite alright. I was merely just praying.

Monk: But, your hurt…Might I be able to help…

Rouge: If you value your life, you better walk away…

    Monk: [Stunned] Wha..What?

[The pool of blood started to bubble in front of the monk’s feet, looking down. The last thing he saw was spikes of blood rushing up to his face, his body twitched a for second or two before going slack. The spears retracted into the pool, the monk falling face first into it. High up in the rafters above Rouge, something stirred, there was one, followed by another, and another. Catching the scent of human blood the eyeless creatures swooped down, five of them, surrounding the body of the monk feasting on his remains, clawing and chewing through his robe, to get to his flesh. Rouge continued to pray, praying for a bloodbath…

    Serenity’s Room

[Serenity, dressed only in a long T-shirt lay across her bed looking at the many dresses sprawled on the floor. Her room was an unkempt mess whenever she came by for a visit. Hard rock blasted from a boom box resting on her dresser. For the past thirty minutes she had been trying to choose an appropriate dress for tonight; so far she narrowed it down to five. ]

Serenity: Hmmm, that one isn’t too bad, but I haven’t worn that one in a year. That one I never even wore, but something about it…just doesn’t fit me.

[There was a knock at the door.]

Serenity: [Rolling of the bed to her feet.] Yes?

    Serena: It’s me…

Serenity: Oh, [Getting to her feet opening the door to face Serena, they made eye contact for only a brief period before she was unable to look at her.] Serena…hi..

    Serena: May I come in?

Serenity: Oh sure! Come on in!

[Serena entered, looking around Serenity’s bedroom; clothes littered the ground, along with magazines, leftover foot, and other trinkets.]

    Serena: Nice room.

Serenity: Oh, sorry, I’ve been busy trying to figure out a dress. [sighing] How to act… Maybe I’ll find myself a nice “puppy” or two. [Laughing]

Serena: [Looking at Serenity’s dresser, scanning the different perfumes and cosmetics.] So your fifty today…you must be so proud. Not many lycanthropes make it this far in – [She stopped herself. It was a rude thing to say, but from the look of her sister she knew…] Forgive me…

Serenity: It’s ok…I know I’m the luckiest of all “half-breed” lycans. Born without the madness, but stile unable to bear….[Looking at her sister with shame in her eyes.] But that’s ok! I’m fifty today and look twenty, more than I can say for any woman I know!  Except for Rayne maybe, come on “sister” [Stressing the word] What brings you here to my room?

Serena:…I don’t know how to say this…But I need a dress.  I afraid that in my time on this earth I haven’t needed one, but since this is a special occasion…

Serenity: Oh! I see! [Taking her sister’s hand for the first time taking her to her closet.] You want to look good for him.

    Serena: [Taken back] What?

Serenity: [Digging through her wardrobe] Oh don’t play stupid! I know how you looked upon him, and the way he looked at you. [Pulling out a dress or two] Now the only thing is…[Raising a red dress in front of Serena’s frame] Just what dress will make him really notice you…

    Solomon's Chambers

[Vergil approached the door to Solomon's bedroom, dressed in a white long coat with silver trim; his hair slicked back, much like his father's. Lightly he knocked on the door. There was a moment of silence before there was a response.]

    Solomon: Come in Vergil...

Vergil: [Entering] Your nose is still as strong as ever.

[Solomon stood before his mirror, dressing in his most formal of robes; leaning against the mirror was his sword, Dragmus. The dragon hilt's ruby eye sparkled as Vergil laid eyes on it. Many a time he had wanted to try out the devil arm, the power locked away was tempting to Vergil.]

Vergil: I see your bringing out that old piece of junk.[Walking over, picking up the huge sword.] Hard to believe you were the hero in The Jade Dragon. I've heard the fairytale a lot as a child.

Solomon: [Grinning] Yes, I still can't believe I survived myself. You look very presentable, much like your father.

Vergil: [Setting the sword down] I'm going to be leaving after the party.

    Solomon: So soon?

Vergil: I must. Even though I didn't get much from that old woman, I did manage to pick up some information at the town's library. [Smirking] I think I have found a lead.

Solomon: I thought you would at least stay a little while, what with Serenity's birthday, and the arrival of Serena, I...

Vergil:[Cutting him off] No, I must continue.

    Solomon: To gain power?

    Vergil: Yes...

Solomon: And you would risk opening the gates of hell in order to achieve that goal?

Vergil: [Looking directly into Solomon's eyes.] I will do whatever it takes. And those who would stand in my way will fall.

Solomon: ...I see. [Putting his cape on, sheathing Dragmus, he held back a cough.] Are we ready?

    Vergil: Yes, quite.

    Solomon: The let it begin...

    Solomon’s Mansion, Grand Hall

Solomon: The turnout is smaller than usual…I remember seeing more people. New faces, old ones…

Katrina: I wasn’t alive then my dear. [Patting Solomon’s arm.]

[Though a small turnout in lycans, the number of humans that arrived made it up, mostly from the higher society Solomon had invited them only because it was required in order to keep his status in the city. The entire hall was packed with people as some danced about in the center, while others clung to the tabled lining the sides of the walls. Dishes from all over lined the tables: fruits, meats, soups, so many that his senses were overwhelmed. Katrina had spent a full week preparing the dishes, storing them in the large freezer he had installed years ago. It never had been so full of food until now. Katrina looked over at him with a smile she works ever so hard…  He knew quite well that Serenity did not know or care who came, just as long as she had a good time. She had not even arrived to the hall still up in her room with Serena getting ready; he was hoping they were getting alone. As the city orchestra played on stage, he and his wife sat at the far opposite end listening and looking on as people enjoyed themselves. And standing to his right stood Vergil, with a stony expression on his face.]

Solomon: Vergil, why don’t you go out there and enjoy yourself.

[Whenever he was offered something to eat or drink by the many servants serving, he would merely wave them away. A few times women would approach him, but he brushed them off with a cold word or look, each one feeling a bite of frost when he denied them. The fact that he had Yamato at his side also kept others away. Solomon told him that he need not keep his sword with him at all times, but Vergil would not listen.]

Vergil: That is quite alright. I am content where I am…

Katrina: Vergil, go out there and be normal. Don’t be so uptight. Even your father danced at our wedding.

    Vergil: He was there?

Katrina:  Of course he was! Solomon wouldn’t have anyone else to be his best man. It took him two years to track down Sparda, just to ask him to serve at our wedding. And he was more than happy to do it.

Vergil: [looking at Solomon] Perhaps maybe...

Solomon: [Shaking head] There is a lot you still need to learn. [Looking to an entrance] Ah, looks like they finally arrived.

[Vergil looked in the direction Solomon indicated and was taken back. Serenity and Serena entered, both breath taking. Serenity wore a tight fitting jade dress with a slit running up the left leg. A shimmering pattern of green crystal was etched into the dress, making it sparkle in the light. Her lipstick matched the green of her dress, a silver chain with a emerald rested comfortably in her cleavage, he could only stare till he looked up Serena. She wore a deep velvet dress that hugged around her body that also revealed quite a bit in the cleavage; Serena seemed a bit embarrassed to be wearing it. Vergil was not the only one that noticed. Around them men who did or didn’t have a date walked over to talk to the new faces. Politely Serenity addressed each one of them, picking the one who she thought was the most attractive and took him to the dance floor. Serena on the other hand, turned down each one, looking over to her father, and then Vergil. They both stared at each other before she approached; in her hand was her sword, Kiyoshi.]

Serena: Father. [Bowing.] Lady Katrina. [Kissing her hand.] Vergil. [Nodding slightly, Vergil slightly flustered nodded back.] Impressive turnout. I recognize a few clan leaders in this pack. I did not expect them to come to the invite of a “lone wolf”.

Solomon: Like any dog, they can’t say no to a free meal… [Looking at Serena’s dress] You look…excellent tonight my dear.

Serena: This was the only thing Serenity had that fit me.

Katrina: I think it fits you perfectly. [Teasingly] Even Vergil does.

    Vergil: ….

[Solomon, Serena, and Katrina stared at Vergil, waiting his answer.]

    Vergil: [Turning away blushing]…

Solomon: [Laughing] I think he defiantly agrees.

    Serena: …

    Katrina: I’m just teasing.

[Serenity appeared, the man she had danced with in tow who turned out to be a lycan. Seeing Solomon, the man bowed and gave his acknowledgment. Smiling brightly, Serenity kissed Solomon and Katrina’s cheek; then she turned to Vergil offering her hand to him, which he took.]

Serenity: Vergil, since it is my birthday. [Hooking his arm into her’s] Dance with me.

Vergil: It is your birthday... [Leading Serenity to the dance floor.]

[The man stood there, feeling a little uncomfortable walked up to Serena offering her a dance; she declined. Feeling rejected he bowed slightly and walked into the crowd finding someone more “friendly”.]

Katrina: He only wanted to dance Serena. Nothing more… or is it your waiting your turn with Vergil? [Grinning]

Serena: [Looking at Katrina intently] I don’t know what you’re getting at.

Katrina: Come now! I see how you look at him and how you reacted when Solomon or I talked about him. You can’t deny that you have an interest in the young man.

Serena: [Snapping] Only because he’s Sparda’s son nothing more! [Realizing her outburst, she lowered her head in silence unable to speak anymore.]

Katrina: It’s quite alight my dear. [Reaching over, patting Serena’s arm] Sparda did mean a lot to you didn’t he?

    Serena: You don’t even know…

    *********************************************************************

    Outside Solomon’s Mansion, Front Gates

[The guard tried to call for help but he was too slow; Ferril bent his arm backwards before twisting his neck 180 degrees. He fell before her feet in a heap, disgusted she kicked him out of the way, letting her turned minions drain his body dry.]

Ferril: Not a bad place, this wolf knows how to live in luxury.

[Behind her Rouge appeared, holding Kashir in one hand, dragging the lifeless corpse of another unfortunate guard in her other. She let the body fall, licking the blood from her fingers, the tattoos on her body pulsating, ready to bleed.]

Rouge: Well if you been in as many battles as he has, then of course you would have some spoils from those wars. Is everything ready?

Ferril: Of course! The Blood field is set, one snap of my fingers and it’s activated, they will all be trapped like roaches in a roach motel. What about you? Are the bombs set?

Rouge: [Pointing to the flying creatures circling the roof in the moonlight] My pets have placed them in the points Vermin pointed out. [Pulling out a remote grinning]

Mistress Jade: Excellent, you both have done perfectly… [Approaching with Vermin in tow, his eyes were glazed and burning red.] Vermin has just informed me that his men are ready as well. [Walking past her two daughters she looked at the mansion reaching at it with her withered hand she clutched it, imagining that it were in the palm of her hand crushing it.] This will be the end of you Solomon…

    Solomon’s Mansion, Grand Hall

Serenity: You’re an impressive dancer Vergil, thank you.

Vergil: It was my pleasure Lady Serenity. [Bowing]

[The music ended with everyone applauding the orchestra, whom returned the gestures with bows of their own. Walking up the stage was Solomon, thanking the musicians personally, then he turned to everyone, ready to deliver his speech.]

Solomon: Thank you! Thank you all for coming. I am deeply honored that you would all travel so far to my home.

Guest in the crowd: For your wife’s cooking? I’d walked the underworld!

[There were roars of laughter washing over the crowd; Serenity gave out a short laugh while Vergil remained silent, looking onward to Solomon. Quietly Serena appeared next to Vergil, slipping through the crowd standing silently, he took notice. ]

Vergil: [Slightly looking in her direction.] You are looking very elegant tonight Lady Serena.

Serena: Thank you Vergil, so are you. Much like your father.

    Vergil: …[Silent]

Serena: [Smirk, she looked at him and he at her. There was something in each other’s eyes that blotted out the world between them…]

[There was another applause from the crowd, something Solomon had said, Vergil and Serena had not been paying attention. With his arm, Solomon indicated to Serenity, mentioning to everyone about her birthday, a little embarrassed she looked at her father before walking up to the stage to hug him and wave to the crowd. From the main doors came a huge cake, wheeled in by Vermin and a few servants. The massive pastry stood at least thirty feet in the air; everyone was speechless at the huge marvel looking over to Katrina who was asleep, worn out from slaving in the kitchen for the past three days. Checking his watch Vermin looked around, searching for the SPCL, who was off to the side conversing with two elegant women. He looked over to Vermin nodding his head lifting his hand up in the air; Vermin spotted the pink capsule held between his fingers. Looking off into the crowd for a quick glance, Vergil noticed something odd in the windows; outside the moonlight was bright he could clearly see the garden, but something was different. A strange red hue coated the windows, almost as if the whole world had been covered in blood. One second he was there, then he was gone; Serena looked through the crowd, spotting Vergil heading back to Katrina. She was about follow when there was a commotion on the stage; Solomon had fallen to his knees. Concerned, as was everyone else, she pushed her way forward, rushing to her father. Suddenly she started to feel a little dizzy, staggering she bumped into someone, before she could apologize someone bumped into her as well.

Serena: W-what’s going on? [Dropping to the floor weakly]

[It was happening all over, guests leaning against walls or one another; a few vomited on the floor before collapsing. Looking on stage, she saw Serenity helping Solomon to his feet; trying to help him off stage…]

Serena: Oh god…it’s bane! Someone has pumped the room with bane!

[Struggling Serena got to her feet, supporting herself with Kiyoshi; making her way to her father something occurred to her. Vermin, unaffected looked about the crowd with a gleam in his eyes letting out a howl. His howls were followed by others who stood strong, unaffected as well. This was all planned…there was an explosion from the cake, icing raining everywhere on people nearby. Where the cake had been, stood two females, from the looks of blood lust and fangs, Serena knew what they were…]

Ferril: Greetings ladies and gentlemen! Sorry we did not show up unannounced, but my sister has a taste for making an entrance.

Rouge: Sister, the entrance is everything…[Looking at the crowd.] Ladies and gentlemen, Solomon, let the real party begin…

[Vermin, along with the other unaffected lycan began transforming, growing into the beasts that lived inside each and everyone of them. With blazing red eyes, they howled into the moon, ready to kill; smashing through the windows Ferril’s turned servants and Rouge’s pets came forth, attacking anyone within their range. The room became enveloped with the screams and howls of the frightened masses. Leaping from the cake, Ferril pounced onto a rather large man getting to his knees, transforming; in hopes of fighting off the attack, but Ferril was quicker, clawing his throat out. Rouge stepped from the table, walking through the crowd, bleeding from her tattoos. Whenever someone tried to strike her, they were stopped in the tracks with deadly accuracy, her blood pierce their skulls, killing quick and efficiently.]

Ferril: Come one! Fight you ***! [Taunting a lycan, clawing at her face.] Ugh! Pathetic, put some heart into it! Like this! [With a mighty backhand, she sent him into a crowd.]

[Rouge walked up behind a panicking woman, grabbing her from behind, jamming her thumb deep into the woman’s back, slowly her legs gave way, falling to the floor paralyzed, Rouge stepped back as one of her sightless pets dropped down, picking at her face. Rouge watched until there wasn’t a face left, looking for another kill. Hiding near the steps of the stage, Serenity tried to hold her father back, she knew he wanted to do something, but in his condition, he was entirely helpless. ]

    Solomon: I must help…

    Serenity: No! It’s too dangerous!

    Solomon: But Katrina!

[They both looked over to where she had been sleeping, only to find the chair empty.]

    Solomon: Where is she?

Vergil: [Appearing to Solomon and Serenity’s side.] She is safe [Helping Solomon to his feet.] This way.

[He lead them down the side of the walls, a few times a turned or one of the creatures would try and attack, Vergil cut them down with a single stroke; they reached a wood panel, knocking three times, a secret door opened before Vergil.]

    Solomon: How did you know?

Vergil: No time…get inside both of you!

Serenity: But what about Serena, and the others?

Vergil: [Pushing her through the door, closing it before looking off into the crowd.] Leave them to me. [looking back at the chaos]

Ferril: Ha! This is too easy! I’m having too much of a blast! [Holding a crying child in her hands.]

Vergil: This party was invite only, I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask you to leave.

Ferril: [Dropping the child to the floor.] Who the *** are you? Why aren’t you quivering to you knees puking your guts out? [Peering closer at Vergil.] Wait…your no lycan.

Vergil: You can either leave, or die. [Reaching for Yamato’s hilt]

Ferril: Oh! Big man huh? You won’t be saying that when I rip out your spine! RRAGH!

[She attacked, leaping for him, but Vergil wasn’t there rushing past her, quicker than the eye releasing a volley of attacks from his sword; barely avoiding the strike Ferril leaped to the side.]

Ferril: *** he’s fast! [Looking at her wounds.] You’re going to pay for that!

[In the air again she tried, baring her fangs hissing. Vergil struck her across the back of her head with Yamato sheathed. ]

Vergil: Pathetic. [Turning around swinging his sword unsheathed in a large arch, a vampire fell to the floor in two pieces.]

Ferril: Who the hell are you? [Raising to her feet]

Vergil: That is none of your concern. [Walking towards Ferril]

Rouge: Oh but it is…[Walking past Vergil, leaning on Ferril’s shoulder.] You see my sister and me are in the middle of a competition. You are interfering, though somehow I feel that I know what you are…

[With a flick of her wrist, blood spattered over Vergil’s face and body; leaving him baffled. Rouge smiled snapping her fingers; paralyzed, blood spikes jutted from his body and face, sending waves of pain throughout his body. Yamato clattered to the ground as he dropped to his knees falling, unmoving.]

Ferril: [Looking at Vergil’s body] I warmed him up for you.

[Rouge grinned as she looked over her kill, defiantly this one was special somehow, she just didn’t know why. All she wanted was something to remember him by…she found it, resting around Vergil’s neck. Lifting it up snapping the chain around his neck she held the large amulet around her neck admiring it’s red luster in the light. She turned to Ferril.]

    Rouge: What do you think?

Ferril: Yeah yeah, it looks nice. [Spotting Yamato.] I found something much better!

[Picking up the sword Ferril lifted it up in the air, pointing it at the moon. With a mighty swing, she cleaning sliced through two people running for safety.]

Ferril: Mmmm, I like this….[Licking the blood from the blade. Spotting a group of people trying to break through the blood field, she smiled, heading in their direction.]

[Rouge shook her head at her sister as she herself wandered back into the chaos.]

    Solomon’s Hallway

[Serenity frantically pulled Solomon down the hallway, behind her she could hear the screams of those still trapped inside. Solomon babbled something about Katrina and the others, she couldn’t tell, she was too busy trying to get him to safety. After pulling him twenty paces, she stopped, he looked at her then stared in the direction she was looking at. Standing before them was a woman, or something that appeared to be a woman. It was hard to tell, her face was burned badly, the only thing the two noticed where her eyes. Her cold gold eyes…]

Mistress Jade: Solomon…. I’ve been waiting a long time for this…

Serenity: [Looking at Solomon] Who is that?

[Jade held a strange gold collar in her hands lifting it up before her face speaking a language foreign to them both. Serenity could not understand, the collar lifted from Jade’s hands, floating lightly in the air hovering. Before anyone could react the collar shot out, snapping tightly around Solomon’s neck, he struggled with it trying desperately to remove it screaming in pain dropping to his knees; Jade watched with a grim smile on her face knowing exactly what was happening. Serenity looked at Jade barring her teeth, she leaped for her only to be slammed to the floor by and unknown force. Looking back, Serenity was surprised at what she saw; gripping her leg tightly, almost breaking it was Solomon growling low at her transforming.]

    Serenity: Father!?

[He didn’t seem to respond to her, fully in his wolf form, his fur white as ivory. With a flick of his arm he flung Serenity across the hallway, smashing into a wall. He was on her before she could recover, backhanding her in the face. Jade watched in extreme pleasure, licking the skin around her lips. Katrina entered through a secret passage in the wall, shocked to see Serenity lying unconscious, Solomon standing over her, ready to open his daughter’s throat.]

    Katrina: Solomon!

[He looked at Katrina almost regaining his senses, but the collar reacted, glowing, shocking Solomon with a dark magic. He howled in pain clawing at the collar, trying desperately to remove it but to no avail. ]

Mistress Jade:[Walking up to Katrina, scaring her.] Ah, you must be his new wife. [Touching her face.] I didn’t know he had taste for the…”vintage”.  [She looked over to Solomon.] Kill her…[Moving to the side.]

[Katrina looked in disbelief, unable to move as her husband walked up to her with pure white eyes, showing his sharp teeth at her growling.]

    ***********************************************************************

    Solomon’s Mansion, Grand Hall

[Serena slowly came too finding herself under the orchestra stage her right arm broken in at least two places, and a sprained ankle, it took her a while to remember what happened, when she did, she was alert as ever, stretching out her senses, seeing if he was still around. Vermin. He had stood there as a werewolf completely unharmed by the bane, he attacked her almost taking her down with his first attack. It was hard to defend herself in her weakened state; then again, it was hard for anyone to. In the end she remembered being knocked into the stage with an incredible punch from him. He would have finished her off if it hadn’t been for two lycanthropes jumping him; they managed to put up a good fight, long enough for the crazed beast to forget about her.]

Ferril: Well? Is that all of them? Don’t forget a god damn head or it’s yours!

Vampire: Yes Mistress! We are checking every last one!

Ferril: Good. [Cutting his head off with Yamato]… I love doing that! [Licking at the blood.]

Rouge: Your wasting your help dear sister.

Ferril: So what? I can always make more. Humans are like cockroaches!

[Serena watched as the two vampire sisters conversed near the hole of the stage, next to them were two neatly stacked piles of heads; lycans and humans alike. She tried to hold back the contents of her stomach, but she was unable to. The piles were stacked side by side; it appeared that they were trying to see which one was the tallest; Vermin walked up to Ferril and Rouge naked Serena backed up knowing he could easily smell her.

Vermin: What about those still alive? Want us to kill them?

Rouge: No, that is quite all right. We will take them with us, I’m sure Xerxes can make use of the “raw” material.

Serena: Xerxes? I know that name…

Ferril: I bet he can, [Looking to Vermin.] Round them up, and put on some clothes for god’s sake!

Mistress Jade: Yes do! [Approaching] Well well…quite a mess you two have made. Quite…[Snapping her fingers... An all too familiar white lycan approached, it was hard for her to see, but Serena could see someone in his mouth. Solomon stopped behind Jade, dropping the limp body to the ground…Serenity!] Take good care of this one. I don’t want her harmed or anyone to touch her. [Talking sternly, looking towards Vermin with a hard look, then to her daughters] I mean it you two! She is very important to me!

[Jade walked away Solomon obediently following like a dog. Grumbling Ferril slung Serenity over her shoulder walking out of the hall Rouge followed soon after, but not before telling someone to retrieve the heads. There was the sound of flapping wings as something began grabbing the heads; one by one, they were being carried off. Serena waited until they were done before exiting from her hiding place. Supporting herself against the stage, she looked around. It was horrific headless bodies everywhere. Kiyoshi was under a table picking it up she used it like a cane, hobbling about. Tears formed in her eyes as she collapsed to the floor crying; then the sound of someone screaming startled her.]

Vergil: EEERRRRRRRRAAA!! Where is it?! [Standing up looking around frantically holding his neck.] Where? Where?! Yamato…? [Punching the floor.] No!…where…[Spotting Serena, walking over to her, his eyes glowing green.] What happened? [When she wouldn’t answer, he grew even more impatient.] Tell me!

Serena:[Cringing.] Can’t you see what happened!? They were killed…all of them.

Vergil: Who? [Remembering] Wait…those two…[Gritting his teeth Vergil headed for the door, stopping when he noticed something glowing at the other end of the hall, next to Solomon’s chair.Dragmus]

[Something about the hilt’s eye caught Vergil’s attention. Walking over to the weapon he reached down to grab it. The gem eyes blazed bright red; the blade suddenly becoming aflame with a jade fire swirling around the hilt; lifting it into the air he grinned, giving the sword a few mighty swings.]

Vergil: So, you will lend me your power. [Eyes glowing brighter.] Good…

    Solomon’s Mansion, Main Hallway.

Mistress Jade: Hurry up! I want to get out of here. Solomon! Out now!

[Without hesitation he trotted outside, Jade was about to leave well when Vergil appeared holding the flaming sword in his hands. Looking over to him a little surprised Jade simply smiled and blew a kiss to him… Before his feet a strange circle appeared on the floor; something large and dark appeared. It had a flaming ram skull for a head, reaching through the spell-gate it pulled out a large scythe. Its glowing eye sockets looked at Vergil swinging the blade, it landed in the ground in front of him leaving a scorch mark in the floor.

Mistress Jade: Enjoy…[Leaving, a wall of flame blocking the doorway.]

Vergil: [Vergil looked to the flaming exit then at the demon staring at him with dead eyes. The monster swung the scythe, Vergil blocked with Dragmus, the two colored flames wrapped around each other in a twisting inferno.] Your in my way…

    Solomon’s Mansion,  Main Hallway.

[With a little effort, Serena managed to make it out to the hallway balancing against the wall. She stopped when she smelled blood. Looking over at a smashed wall lay Katrina motionless; falling to the floor crawling over to her stepmother, Serena held the corpse in her arms. Someone had ripped open her throat with strong claws, nearly taking her head off. This scene, it looked all too familiar to her a memory she had managed to bury deep within her only now it resurfaced like something trapped underwater swimming desperately to the surface to breath. ]

    Serena: No..no..not again…[Crying, hugging Katrina’s corpse.] Please no…

[She didn’t have long to grieve, Vergil smashed through a wall getting to his feet as a flaming beast emerged through the hole. He teleported behind it, appearing in the air swinging Dragmus with a downward strike, cracking the demon’s skull; fiery blood splattered the walls catching fire. Using all his strength, Vergil plunged the sword into the monster’s back, causing it to explode in green and orange flame. He and Serena were knocked back; Serena went unconscious... When she came to she was outside Solomon’s mansion; ablaze. Standing next to her, Dragmus attached to his back Vergil watched the flames twist into the dawning sky, then he turned and around. He left leaving behind Serena.]

Vergil: I will get back what is mine…Mother…Father…
