Small village in Southern Austria, 1574 : During The Great Purification (Part of the Inquisition)

[The young girl ran as fast as she could down the dark alley, tears streaming from her eyes. Her left foot was caught on a stone and she tripped, tumbling to a stop at the base of a wall. She lay there crying, unable to move.]

    Serena: M-mother…

[It was only a few moments ago she last saw her, commanding her with a fierce voice and cold violet eyes, commanding her to flee. Now she was alone, running from men in golden armor that cursed her in the name of the Lord. ]

Knight1: This way! I saw her run down this alley!

[Scrambling to her feet, she darted in a small alcove, hiding behind forgotten crates from some vender. There were four of them, tall and powerful, each holding a sword and shield with the symbol of the Holy Order. As they drew near, Serena tried to make herself smaller, curling up tightly.]

Knight1: Look sharp! This is a dead end. Nowhere for her to go or hide, She’s here…

Kight2: The larger one put up fight; do you think this one might be just as dangerous?

Knight3: You saw the fear in her eyes. She will go down much easier than that other foul beast! [Patting a mat of bloodied blue hair strapped to his belt.]

[They heard the sound of a low growl; the first knight didn’t see her coming. She tackled him to the ground, pounding on his helmet till she heard the wet crunch of bone. The wild child full of rage fixed her eyes on the startled knight with her mother’s scalp. He barley made a move before she was upon him. Blood coated her hands and mouth as she looked up at the remaining knights. A sharp burning sensation pierced her left shoulder; she fell to the ground in a help of pain screaming. She tried to get to her feet, but a fist of gold knocked her sprawling to the ground, in a daze she looked up as the knight planted his foot on her wounded shoulder.]

Knight4: Foul Beast! [Aiming his crossbow at the girl; the silver tip polished to a mirror shine] I send you to hell in the name of our Lord!

Voice: You will reach hell before her if you pull that trigger.

[The voice belonged to a man in strange robes standing at the opposite end of the alley; Serena turned weakly to see Him before she blacked out…never had she seen such blue eyes.]

    Holy Shrine, Present Day, (1992)

[In a cold sweat she awoke sitting upright in her bed. It was not a nightmare or a dream, Serena was sure almost sure of that. The memory was as clear as that fateful night she lived it. Standing, she walked to the window and gazed out at the night, breathing in the air.  Stale. A taste that kept her mind even more stirred. As she went back to her bed to try and rest, a single name exited her lips.]

    Serena: Sparda…

    Dumary Island

[In an old cottage resting against a mountainside overlooking the ocean; inside an old woman told a very interesting story to a young traveler, who only appeared to her just a few hours ago.]

Métier:” …And so, Sparda took up his sword and entered the portal, taking on the great demon…”

    Vergil: “Enough…”

    Métier: “…”

Vergil:  “I’m tired of hearing your insolent prattle. You speak nothing I haven’t heard before...[looking at the old woman sitting before him. She quietly poured herself a cup of tea, then pouring a second, passing it to Vergil, first-born son of the Dark Knight. He merely looked at it.] “That is not why I came here…”

Métier: “Forgive me Son of Sparda, but if your are referring to how your father sealed away the Demon King…I do not know. It was before my time…”

[A young Vergil grunted in disgust; another wasted trip, he was starting to doubt if he would ever find out what really happened. Standing up Vergil turned and headed for the door.]

    Métier: “Wait…”

Vergil: “There is nothing useful you can tell me. I wasted my time with you…”

[He left without saying another word; Métier shook her head, sipping at the cup of tea in her hand. There was a stirring from the stairs, she looked up to see a dark skinned girl staring at her, the child brushed back her red hair looking down at Métier.]

Métier: [Laughing] “My dear child, what is it?”

Lucia: “Was he really Sparda’s son?”

Métier:  [looking at the open door] “Yes…”[lightly sighing] ”…yes he was…”

    Holy Shrine

[A top the roof of the Holy Shrine, a purple haired woman sat meditating to the morning sun. She breathed calmly, listening to the sound of nature. Miles away she could pick up of a deer drinking from a stream. Elsewhere, she smelled flowers from a field; then his stench…Gavrine…For years she wished she could kill that damn vampire lord; she could even smell the stench of the dead bodies he left out for his bear brethren to feast on. But Lady Mary forbade it…he must live, his time would come. At her side, her sword, Kiyoshi rested. The air changed, someone was approaching…It was one of the new guards she had been training for the last ten years; Derrick. He, like his partner Brad had sworn an oath to protect this place from those who would want the secrets hidden away on this sacred ground. Especially, The Heart, … behind her, inside the steeple rested the living heart of Kain The great vampire king who was able to bring the entire world under his rule so long ago. The heart pumped, beating to a slow tune embedded in the gnarled trunk of a demonic tree. ]

    Derrick: “Lady Serena…”

[Derrick stood in front of her waiting patiently for her reply; she could tell by his scent that the news he brought was urgent. Opening her eyes she looked up at the young guard, true he looked about 20, but she knew he was at least 60 now, Brad almost 80.]

    Serena: “Yes, what is it?”

Derrick: “We just received a message for Mistress Mary…She requests your presence at once…”

Serena: “I see” [Standing up, gripping her sword she walked past Derrick] “Very well, I will leave at once…you and Brad know your duties, and you’re training.”

Derrick: “Of Course Lady Serena, we would never go slack in your absence!”

[She stopped, in one quick motion she turned drawing her blade aiming for Derrick’s mid-section. He rolled out of the way. Looking down he saw a slice in his armor. Surprised he looked at his master and trainer.]

Serena: [Turning away, sheathing her sword] “See that you don’t…you should have been more quicker than that.”

[She walked down the steps, leaving Derrick in disbelief and shame.]

Offshore Dumary Island, Ferry to Dumary Airport

    Vergil: “…”

[He stood alone, staring off into the endless sea, lost in his thoughts. Again he felt cheated, another wasted trip, another dead end. ]

Vergil: Useless hag, I came here for nothing…another great deed done by the Great Sparda…[Gripping Yamato tightly, looking down at it.] How long must I search for His power?…my power

[Two children ran by, brothers…they stopped a few feet away from Vergil playing some sort of tag game.]

    Boy1: “Ha! Tag your it!”

    Boy2: “No fair! You cheated!”

Boy1: “No I didn’t, your just too slow!”

    Boy2: “Am Not!”

    Boy1: “Are too!”

    Boy2: “Am Not!”

Young Vergil: “Yes you are! Face it Dante, you’re just too slow!” [Sticking his tongue at his brother]

Young Dante: [Teary eyed] “I’m not!” [Charging for Vergil, who teleported away. Dante stopped, turning all around trying to find him… Something small and hard hit him in the head.] “Ow!” [Looking up in the trees.]

Young Vergil: [Laughing, pointing at Dante.]

Young Dante: [Crying, running away] “Mommy!”

Eva: “Vergil! How could you do that to Dante?” [Holding Dante, crying in Eva’s lap]

[The younger version of Vergil didn’t say a word; he just stood there looking at his mother, and a bleeding Dante crying in her lap. Her eyes were filled with sadness, looking upon him.]

[The sound of the ferry horn woke Vergil from his thoughts; the kids were gone, almost as if they never were there in the first place…]

    Venice, Italy, Holy Pearl Church

[Serena pushed her way through The Water Seal, surrounding the sunken church. As a child, she was taken here and baptized. Before it was underwater, before The Great Purge, she shook violently, knocking most of the water off her, now only slightly damp, she made her way to the entrance. As expected, when she reach only a few feet, it’s guardian arose. Coming up from the earth in front of Serena, a huge clawed hand slammed down in front of her.]

[The Turned emerged holding it’s mighty mace in one hand, roaring, looking for the intruder. Sensing Serena in front of it, the beast stalked slowly to her, drooling and breathing hot nasty breath. She didn’t move, looking straight into the Turned’s face. Face to face, the Turned sniffed the brave soul. Realizing who it was, the creature backed away, allowing her to pass.]

    Serena: “Ever the watchdog.”

    ************************************************************************

    Holy Pearl Church, Inner Garden

[Serena found Mary in the garden as usual, sitting under the old Bloodoak tree. Out of all the plant life on Earth, Serena had never seen such strange and exotic plants. Serena had once heard that they were made, created by a long dead alchemist and sorcerer. In Mary’s hands, she was reading a book. For a vampire, Mary smelled sweet, not tainted like so many others she had encountered. Even Mynce had a tainted smell to her, but that was only cause she had to survive in the harsh world, though Mary somehow managed to avoid tainting her smell…]

Mary: [Turing to Serena’s direction, smiling, walking over to her.] “Serena…”[Taking Serena’s hand, lightly kissing it and bowing.] “It has been a long time.”

Serena: [Smiling] “Yes My Lady, it has…”[Walking with Mary] “you summoned me…”

    Mary: “Yes, I did.”

[She didn’t speak for a while; she merely looked over her garden, running a hand over some large petal flowers. Finally she spoke…]

Serena: “How are the new guards?”

Serena: [Nodding] “Derrick and Brad are still a little rough around the edges, I believe they still need at least five more years of training.”

Mary: [Lightly laughing] “Then they are ready…”

    Serena: [Quizzically] “My Lady?”

Mary: “Serena, not everyone is skilled as you, or has as much expectations in…”

Serena: “…” [Peering at Mary] “What are you getting at?”

[They entered back into the church, heading to the back, where the living quarters were; each room was painted with a mural of lands Serena had only seen in dreams. The painter was very good, keeping great detail, almost feeling like she was there. They entered Mary’s private quarters, which was painted the most elaborate. But as elaborate as the room was, Mary had little furnishings in here, a simple bed, a chair, and a dresser; nothing more…Mary sat down at her bed, while Serena stood still watching her.]

Mary: “Serena…It’s time for you to go home…”

    Serena: [Shocked] “My Lady….”

Mary: [Holding up hand, silencing Serena] ”It is not by my request,.. Though truly I do also wish this of you…”

    Serena: “Who did then?”

    Mary: “Your father…”

Serena: “…Did he?” [She felt a twinge of anger flare up] “…”

Mary: “Yes, he sent an envoy requisitioning that you come home.”

    Serena: “Did he say why?”

[It had been a long time since she heard from her father…or even tried to keep in contact with him; nearly 200 years…]

Mary: “No, he did not say, but the envoy made it clear that it was important that you come home at once.”

Serena: “I see…”[Bowing to Mary] “It was an honor to serve…”

Mary: [Nodding in acknowledgment] “Yes it has, but now you must go…This is not the life for you Serena, it never was…”

St. Vive’s Airport, South of the City of Nordat, Eastern Wales

[The small passenger plane touched down with a gentle grace. The sun was setting to the west, casting the sky in a dull orange. Stopping in the designated spot, the engines whined downed. From the side door emerged the plane’s lone passenger.]

    Vergil:”…”

[He walked down the stairs, heading towards the airport terminal. The terminal, like the rest of the airfield was desolate, hardly a soul anywhere. Ignoring what few people were, Vergil walked towards the airport’s parking lot. The sleepy attendant looked once at his first customer in hours then again seeing who it was.]

Attendant: “Well now isn’t this a site?”

[The middle-aged man snapped to attention as Vergil promptly placed his bag to the ground and presented a worn yellow ticket.]

Attendant: “I tell you something sonny-boy I thought I’d never see you again! It’s been what? Five years? Christ-sakes!”

    Vergil: “My key.”

Attendant: “Huh? Oh yeah sure thing kid!” [Without even looking the man reached up and pulled a shiny set of gold keys off a pin. With a smile he turned and placed it on the counter-top.] “I’ve kept good care of her for you, polished her every other day like you addressed. No one has touched it, it’s been placed in lot B-6 covered. Really it’s a shame to see the old gal go.”

Vergil: [Snatching up the keys and his bag.] Shut up. [The attendant looked in disbelief at the young man walking away from him.]

[The man was right, sitting in lot B-6 lay the graduation gift from the old wolf. With one hand Vergil removed the car cover; his cobra never looked so welcoming. If any of the few possessions he owned, other than his sword and amulet, this car ranked second. It wasn’t the beauty of power and elegance that attracted him to the vehicle, it was the symbolism behind the car. Vergil never mentioned to Solomon once his interest in a car, especially this one. Around spring a few years ago, Solomon had taken Vergil to a car show, mostly to enter his own custom roadster, but to take Vergil somewhere other than the woods or libraries and bookstores around the town.

At the show, Vergil saw a cobra much like the one he was placing his bag into now only that car was gold and silver. Solomon must have seen how much Vergil stared at the car from afar, even the smile he must have displayed when the owner let him sit in the driver seat. As he sat in his own car now starting her engine in four long years, he knew; this was the car for him. And Solomon never once said anything to Vergil, just placing the very same key now locked into place in the palm of his hand. With a broad smile Solomon only said, congratulations. Vergil placed his hand on the side of the blue sports car and allowed himself to smile again.

Now he was heading home, racing down the highway towards town. The wind blew back his hair as the car sped with the setting sun in the east. ]

Vergil: [Looking off at the city of Nordat slowly closing in.] … hmph...home sweet home..

    *********************************************************

    Alley, Somewhere in Nordat

[Unaware to any one walking the streets, heading home to their self-created sanctuaries to avoid the terrors of the night; a murder is taking place. Stomping to death a helpless female dressed in gaudy clothes, a tall man slams his heavy boot into a bloody mess that was once a face. ]

Vermin: “Fucking ***, damn *** ***!” [Looking down at the woman nearing death.] “You fucked up…fucked with the wrong person.” [Lifting her up with one hand, he held her high in the air for the rest of his lackey gang members to gawk and hoot.] “You really think I didn’t smell a fucking rat snitch?!  I know a goddamn cop when I fucking smell one?!” [With a simple motion with his hand, her throat tore open.] “Ah...fucking beautiful…” [Licking the blood.]

[The head of the lifeless corpes exploded as Vermin used it as a shield. Bits of brain matter dotted his face and head as he tossed the body aside.]

Vermin: “Ambush! It’s a Fucking raid! Scatter!”

[Bullets ripped through the air, gunning down a few of Vermin’s men. Dodging most of the fire, he smashed through a window rolling to safety. A few wounds, nothing bad. Hiding low, he spotted figures in heavy black armor run by. He had seen these people before…in Moscow…Humans in heavy combat armor; the symbol of Brimstone with skulls embedded on their shoulders. He couldn’t see their faces as they all wore helmets; their goggles burning a unholy purplish hue. ]

Vermin: Brimstone…Goddamn Brimstone! [Turning, running down a hallway.]

    ****************************************************************

    Aftermath

[Stacking the bodies in a pile, the soldiers in thick armor lined up accordingly. The face of a man breed for war; pushing nearly seventy, he puffed heavily on a large cigar as he walked by his men. The strong musky scent was detectable to the troops, even through their face masks. Their commander looked at the bodies of dead bikers and motioned only with his hand. Quickly and efficiently, they left no trace of what occurred. Outside the alleyway, the night life of Nordat continued.]

    Kagan’s Tower*  New York City

Ferril: Fucking whore! [Throwing a punch, at the Red-headed tattoo vampire in front of her.]

Rouge: [taunting] Poor poor girl. You’re just too slow…[She saw the rage in Ferril’s eyes. Ferril hunched on all fours, leaping, slashing Rouge in the face, blood seeped from the wound] Now...[Holding cheek] that was A BAD IDEA!!! YYYEEEARRRRR!!!!![Swinging her weapon, Kashair straight at Ferril, connecting in Ferril’s mid section, sending her into a wall.]

[Rouge held Kashair tight, the orb attached to her blade-head glowed bright red, she looked over at her younger sister, who was now rising from the ground…]

Ferril: You ass-sucking ***! [Claws extended, the tattoos covering Ferril’s naked body moved vigorously about her, a sign of how agitated and angry she was] EERR!! You will die ***!

[Ferril charged at Rouge, avoiding the downward strike from Kasshair, tackling Rouge through a wall, into another room, crashing into a table and other furniture. They wrestled with each other, knocking one another into the walls and whatever. Ferril got the upper hand, backhanding Rouge into a painting of some distant relative.]

    Ferril: Ha! Stup..OOF!!

[Kashir slammed into Ferril’s gut, pinning her to the ground; struggling she tried to pry it off of her stomach. Meanwhile, Rouge walked up; her mouth was curled up in a smile, that’s when Kagan burst in.]

Kagan: What is the meaning of this!? [Looking over at the mess, seeing Rouge and Ferril, who were both on their knees. With a heavy sigh, he rolled his eyes.] Oh…you two again…

Rouge: Father…[Looking over at Ferril with a flash of anger] She started this quarrel!

Ferril: Liar! [Pointing a accusing finger in her sister’s face.] She’s the one who attacked first!

Rouge: [Hissing, glowing red, her tattoos pulsating, seeping blood] Take your finger from my face before you lose it!

[It didn’t take long for them to resume fighting, completely forgetting that Kagan was there.]

Kagan: [growling, balling his fist. He just moved into this building, and already it was being ruined.] STOP THIS!

[His voice boomed, almost shaking the room, instantly the two stopped their fighting, cowering back from Kagan’s rage.]

Kagan: I am starting to wear thin of this…bickering…”who is the strongest?” Endless…[starting to lose control of his rage, slamming his fist uncontrollably into a pedestal, tipping over a vase, one which Kagan had some taste for.]

[Everyone watch as the only unbroken piece in the room tumble to the ground. It shattered into pieces. Kagan’s rage boiled, the shards embedded in his body started to glow, responding to their host’s strong emotions. Cursing in the ancient vampiric language Kagan turned and left. Ferril and Rouge both looked at each other with disgust.]

Ferril: …So tell me sister, what is it you wanted? [Wiping the blood from the corner of her lip]

    Rouge: It’s not what I wanted…

    Ferril: ??What?

    Rouge: It’s mother…

Ferril: [Disgusted] What does the old burned *** want?

Rouge: [Anger flaring] Careful what you say, she is your mother…remember that….

Ferril: Yeah yeah…so what does she want?

    Rouge: [Smirking] A challenge…

    Serena:….

    Punk3: I think she’s just shy…

[She ran into these fine men not too long ago, after having taking a wrong turn down a dark street. The men reeked of beer and spilt innocent blood.]

Punk2: [Reaching to touch her] Let’s show her how friendly we are here in Nordat…

[Before he even made contact with Serena’s hair, he was hunched over, holding his stomach; the other two just were shocked as their partner. One felt his jaw shattering into several pieces, while the other was sent flying into a pole. She looked down at the men once over, before walking on.]

Solomon’s Mansion, North Study, Outskirts of Nordat

    Vergil:…Check…

[His opponent reached over the board, moving a knight to block Vergil’s assault on his king. Vergil looked at the old man, who was not a man at all in heavy robes glance from the board to him. That dull eye seemed to flash under the light…watching him…Reading Vergil’s thoughts….]

Solomon: So, Métier still makes that sweet-bitter tea?

[That little revelation took Vergil by surprise, the old wolf noticed Vergil’s gaze waver. A smirk crept upon the old wolf’s hard face. ]

Vergil: It wasn’t to my liking…

Solomon: [Grinning] She said it was the drink of a civilized warrior. Personally, I prefer a good beer. [Chuckling a little before coughing for a minute into a darkened cloth.] Maybe I should start drinking it.

[Vergil didn’t remark, he merely played his piece and waited for Solomon’s move. He had only been here a solid hour, and once again they fell into the same routine, but it was not the same anymore, times had changed. Five years…he had only been gone for five years, but so much had changed. The city, the people, this house…Him…In this same room this man of a wolf looked down upon Vergil with a look of a proud unlce and gave him his blessing. Now, the very same man struggled before him with old age, slowly eating away at his body. ]

Solomon: I may be feeling my age son, but trust me. .[placing his rook in a check move.] I can still deliver a beating.

[He was reading him again…The Dragon had blessed this old wolf with a lot…]

Vergil: You do seem…under the weather…[Bringing his king to a safe position.]

Solomon: [A small Chuckle, moving his knight.]…That is what you call it…

[They locked eyes for a moment….]

Vergil: [ Placing his pawn in front of Solomon’s king.] Checkmate…

Solomon: Well that make its almost even…But I’m sure it’s about five to four…

Female Voice: Well it’s about time! I’ve been sitting here bored for the last half- hour!

[They both turned to look at the young woman standing at the door dressed in a tight t-shirt and faded jeans. She noticed the look Vergil was giving her and smiled, and of course, the look her father was giving her as well.]

Serenity: I guess I still got it…You only been home for almost an hour and you didn’t even bother to come and see me!

    Vergil: .I…

    Serenity: [Pouting] Why bother? I know…I am old…falling apart….

    Solomon: [Long sigh]….

Serenity: [Rushing to Vergil as he got to his feet. With a graceful leap she landed into his quick-reflex catch, strangling him, whispering seductively in his ear] Welcome home…remind me to give you a proper welcoming later Vergie…

[He hated that she called him that, but as she rubbed her breasts against his body, it was hard to stay irate.]

Serenity: You been gone a long time Vergie!

Vergil: [Ignoring that name] Five years is hardly a long time…especially for your family…

Serenity: You hurt me! Even after all that we have been through, what I gave you…[Talking in that vixen tone again.]

[The grin on Solomon’s face shocked Vergil as much as Serenity making this revelation before her father. ..The Old Wolf must have always known.]

Solomon: If your done embarrassing the young man…

    Vergil:…Young man…

Solomon: Then I suggest you tell us what you came in here to tell us…

Serenity: Well. FATHER…[Smile] Mom has dinner ready of course! Now Vergil…

    Vergil: ….?

Serenity: I know it’s not until tomorrow, but I can’t wait! What did you get me?

    Vergil: Get you?…

Serenity: [Pouting]  I know you forget! Always with your selfish head stuck in the clouds! [Making a scene] One of the most important days in the year and you forget! I’ll never forgive you for this!

    Vergil: I..um…

Solomon: [Making a interrupting cough, saving Vergil] I think what he is trying to say is that he didn’t want to just go out and get you a present…[Smirking looking at the startled Vergil.] I think he wants to take you out tomorrow and let you pick your gift. After all Vergil is just that types of man now aren’t you?

Vergil: [A little irate yet relieved.] Yes…that’s exactly the reason…

Serenity: [Smiling and giggling like a schoolgirl she hugged Vergil and gave him a kiss] Just like a typical man. [Ruffling his hair] Well it’s settled then, tomorrow, Vergil you are all mine! Don’t worry…[Talking in that seductive voice again] I’ll be gentle this time…

    Vergil: I can hardly wait…

    Solomon’s Mansion, Dining Hall

    Solomon: Excellent my dear…

Serenity: Yes! Real good mum! You really did outdo yourself tonight! [Stuffing more food into her mouth]

Guest1: Yes! Quite a feast indeed!

    Guest2: I’ve heard rumors of your cooking…

[Walking along the grand table, pushing a cart full of smoked meats, soups, and other delicacies, an old woman smiled, nodding her head, placing the various dishes on the table. Behind her, a servant helped.]

Guest3: Madame Katrina, what is your secret? My wife would love some of these recipes!

Katrina: [High Cackle] Oh there’s no secret! Just love and dedication…

Serenity: [Mouth full of food] Mum…sit down, don’t strain yourself…

[Katrina walked up to her daughter, knocking her in the back of the head with a large metal spoon. ]

Katrina: Don’t talk with your mouth full!

[Serenity glared at her mother but said nothing but continued to eat. All around the guests lightly laughed at just what happened. ]

Guest4: Clearly in her 50 years, she hasn’t learned manners! [Laughter erupting from the table again.]

[The whole table was filled with laughter, save for Serenity; and Vergil, who silently sipped his soup, completely ignoring everything around him, his mind deep into thought. Serenity looked at him during the entire dinner, he never spoke.]

Serenity: Vergil? What do you think of mum’s cooking?

[Everyone was quiet, looking down at the young man. Looking in her direction, he nodded.]

Vergil: Your mother’s cooking is exceptional indeed tonight…

Katrina: Humph! As it should! [Finishing serving, she took her side at Solomon, who placed his hand on her’s]

[The doors flung open, everyone turned to see who it was; Vermin…His eyes were a little glazed over and reddish as he scanned the table.]

Vermin: Good evening everyone…[Walking down the table he spotted Vergil and gave him a dirty look. Passing Serenity, he stroked her hair, she cringed at his touch, Vergil took notice of this.]

Solomon: Ah yes Ericks, glad you could join us.

[There was a flash of anger in his eyes; only Solomon called him by that name. That person was long dead… thanks to Solomon.]

Vermin: Yes, sorry for being late, I had some business to take care of.

Guest1: Surely it could not be anymore important than tomorrow.

Vermin: [Sitting down, reaching for a whole chicken, and slices of ham.] Oh of course not! [Stuffing his face] Why it has everything to do with tomorrow…

[He smacked his lips as he tore at the chicken, the others were a little taken back by his manners tonight, and even Solomon was starting to get irritated.]

Vergil: Clearly your manners have deteriorated since I’ve last been here…

Vermin: [Growling] Care to run that by me again? Demon halfbreed?…

Vergil: [Standing to his feet] You heard me you disgusting pig…[Walking towards the exit] I’m done here, I can’t eat with the sight of that mongrel…

[Vermin lost control, jumping to his feet; he was over the table, lunging for Vergil. In a graceful movement, Vergil stepped out of the way, spinning; bring his fist down on the back of Vermin’s neck. There was a loud crash as Vermin hit the floor, getting to his feet Vermin barred his teeth, growing sharper and longer.]

    Solomon: Enough! Ericks!

[Solomon stood up, glaring at Vermin with fury, but it didn’t last, Solomon’s knees buckled, he lost all strength as he fell back into his seat, coughing profusely.]

Serenity: Father! [Getting up running to his side, Katrina scared, placed her hand on her husband’s back.]

[While everyone looked on in concern, Vermin grabbed Vergil by the collar, pulling him face to face,… they locked eyes. Vergil could smell the blood on Vermin’s breath.]

Vermin: We’re not done, freak! [Letting go of Vergil, walking out of the dinning hall.]

[Vergil looked over to Solomon and Serenity, weakly Solomon assured everyone that he was ok, Serenity looked at Vergil with worry in her eyes, he turned and walked off.]

    Vergil’s Room, Solomon’s Mansion

[The room was the same, untouched since he last left, taking off his jacket and shirt; he placed them over a chair. Outside, the moon appeared through the clouds, it was almost full. Tomorrow it would. There was a silent knock at the door.]

    Vergil: Yes?

    Serenity: Vergil…May I come in.

[He didn’t reply, a minute later he heard the door open, he was looking out the window, his arms behind his back.]

Vergil: Yes? What is the matter? [Not bothering to look at her.]

[Serenity didn’t reply, she ran to him, hugging him from behind tightly, quietly she started to cry in his back.]

Vergil: He doesn’t have much time left…does he?

Serenity: [crying] No!…He doesn’t…and when he dies…[Hugging him tighter] I don’t know how long my mother will last…

    Vergil: I see…

[He knew Solomon was sick, but he didn’t know it was this bad. Something was going to happen…soon…He turned around and placed his arms around Serenity while she continued to cry…]

"So, you want a piece of me literally. Ok bro, come and get it if you can."

    yeahs

Yeah there really won't be much change to the story somewhat, I just took out some elements like the Gathering and changed some of the scenes and character backgrounds. But As  I said I had just written myself into a wall.

Pink Kitty Kat Club, Nordat, Eastern Wales, Red-Lights district of Nordat

    Rouge: This place is disgusting…

Ferril: Well it beats sitting in that fucking car all day. I’m glad to get out of the sun and into some place dark and cozy.

[At night, the Pink Kitty Kat was busy entertaining the city’s more prominent and seedy civilians. But during the day, it was a vampire safe den; inside, the strippers rested about on the couches and bar, several draining the blood from those who were either too drunk, or tried to leave without paying. The stripper nearest to Rouge and Ferril hissed at the newcomers, a swift kick to the face quieted her.]

Ferril: Back off ***! [Looking around] Alright! Where is the old skin bag?

Mistress Jade: Right here. [Coming up from the cellar behind the bar.] Your manners are still the same, even after all these years!

Rouge: Mother… [Taking Mistress Jade’s hand kissing] It has been too long…

Mistress Jade: Yes it has,… but now we’re are all together again. Come, have some bloodwine with me. [Leading them both down into the cellar.]

Ferril: Spare me the formalities mother! Why the *** did your call us?

[Mistress Jade looked at her youngest daughter, sneering, after awhile she composed herself. Leading them back into her office which was located in the basement of the club.]

Mistress Jade: Tell me…have you two finally discovered who is the strongest?

Rouge: Psh! You know it’s always been me! [Taking a seat on a plush red couch seated in Jade’s office.]

Ferril: [Staring down Rouge] You lying whore! You know damn well I am faster and stronger!

[The two locked eyes; before things could get any worse, their mother stopped them, raising her hand.]

Mistress Jade: Enough! I’m very glad that your both still at each other’s throats. That is why I called you my dears. Tomorrow night, there is going to be something wonderful happening…a gathering…

    Rouge: What sort of gathering?

[Before Mistress Jade could answer, there was a buzz from her phone.]

    Mistress Jade: [Answering] Yes?

Attendant: Mistress Jade, …”He” has arrived…

Mistress Jade: Ah…send him this way…[Looking at Ferril and Rouge] I’ll let our “dog” answer that.

[Mistress Jade looked at her daughters who looked upon her with a curious look…she enjoyed it…]

Vermin: [Entering] Well what is it!? [Noticing the two women standing to the side.] Oh…[Winking at them both] bagged you two new sluts? [Licking teeth] Might I have a go at them?

Mistress Jade: These are my daughters, Ferril and Rouge.

    Vermin: Oh…

Mistress Jade: I suggest you sit down and tell us what you know, before they decide to rip you to pieces….

Monk: My dear child, have you been like this all this time?

[Serena sat in a cross-legged position, deep off in meditation.  She was fortunate enough to find the monastery in this murky town. Once upon a time, this place used to be a beautiful town, but it seemed since her last visit things went downhill. How time passes.]

    Monk: My child?

Serena: [Opening eyes] Yes? [Looking to the monk, bowing] Forgive me; it was late I didn’t mean to intrude.

Monk: [Laughing] Oh no it’s quite all right! This place is always open to those with pure spirits.

Serena: [Smirking at remark] Pure, if he only knew…

Monk: You must be hungry, come have something to eat.

Serena: [Getting up] Oh no, I cannot intrude…I must get going.

Monk: Oh I insist! Don’t worry. It’s no trouble at all! You are the first one to visit in a long time, and I am sure your quite hungry. You can spend the night here. It is after all much to late to venture anywhere.

Serena: [Sighing] You have a point old man…

Monk: [Laughing, putting on sunglasses] Good! Let’s eat!

    Serenity: Well that was fun!

    Vergil: [Murmuring]…

Serenity: Oh come now Vergil! It wasn’t that bad, look how many wonderful things I got!

[Vergil knew how many, he was carrying the bulk of her purchases. Stepping outside holding five shopping bags, followed by a box under each arm, he followed Serenity out to the limo. They were going to take his car today, but she had a change of plans…his car didn’t have enough trunk space. It was a clear perfect day, days Vergil tried to avoid, but since it was her birthday, he didn’t have much choice in the matter. After all, he “did” make a promise. As he finished loading her gifts into the trunk, he silently waited for her to decide on what to do next. ]

Serenity: Now, what shall we do next? [Thinking] I know! How about a nice walk? I want to show you around town. Things have certainly changed since we last been here!

    Vergil: [Sighing]…Very well then…

Serenity: [To the driver.] Just cruise around, take a break. Pick us up around two at the café, you know the one, I always go to.

    Driver: As you wish…

    Serenity: Come along Vergil.

Vergil: Wait. [Going into the car, emerging with Yamato]

Serenity: Must you bring that?  It’s bad enough your so cold, but must you carry that thing with you?

Vergil: I agreed to not carry it in the store; you said nothing about the streets. [Smirking] Besides, you never know…

    Serenity: [Signing]

[Without turning around, Serena walked down the steps; she had put it off long enough. It was time to go to her father, but for some reason she felt uneasy, it was something in the noon breeze, a change…fear?… Ignoring the feeling, she continued on, to Solomon’s mansion.]
