ok ... ok... here's another idea.... what if...... nero is the son of dante.... infused with the power of vergil/nelo angelo??? dun dun dunnnnnnnnn o.O

It would still make sense if he inherited it recently too. For instance if someone were to get cancer or an illness, they might say"God why did you do this to me?" So I think he was basically saying that.

Everyones twisting words into something else, when Capcom made it clear, that Nero was BORN from Sparda's bloodline, he's also a "decendant" which means he was 100% born from Sparda's line. Neros appearance is also too much of a hint. Blue eyes, white hair, cocky attitude, beyond human agility and able to weild a 400 pound sword with ease etc etc. He's been the way he has since birth, the Devil Bringer may be a recent revival of Neros hidden ability, since the same happened with Dante in DMC3 with his DT.

All that is possible ND. I just don't think Dante, Vergil, and Nero are directly related in any way. And back to the topic of this thread: no I don't think so although there was that unaccounted for year where Vergil dissapeared. Don't you think it is kinda wierd though that Nero hid his arm in that sling? If he was directly descended from Sparda and his arm was already like that, then how could he keep his arm secret all that time? I really don't know who or what Nero is but he is obviously important. Capcom loves twists(does Tenkai=Samanosuke ring a bell?) so expect the unexpected. All I am saying is Nero could be anyone.

Capcom didnt make anything clear. If they did, then we wouldnt be arguing the fact.

Anyways, you can inherit something without being born with it. For example: lets say someone that was adopted "inherits" their parents fortune when they die. Even though they have no direct bloodline to the adopted parents, they still inherit what was given to them.
Your point has some substance, but at the same time the point I've been making cant be ruled out because of your claims either. Which is that Nero can "inherit" Sparda's bloodline through Vergil's soul possessing his arm.

One thing everybody should have in mind, is that you have to fully understand the meaning of the prequel comics and the games together.

Like, why couldn't Vergil have had a relationship with some girl, maybe before he started to use his coverup profile character called "Gilver" (Vergil backwards).

Like someone told before, Capcom loves twists. Please, don't go any more farfetched than it already is.

As a fact, you all should remember that a true Sparda's power awakens when the person is having it's tiptop event. Remember when Dante's demon awoke when his brother's love-hatred struck him. It wasn't just Rebellion that woke it, but it was the emotions, the grief, the desperation that made Rebellion as an image for Dante's person. Remember, If Dante was just another fullblood demon, he wouldn't have a real heart, he would've maybe just followed his brother's steps, aight?

Now, we do have a stated fact that Nero HAS Sparda's blood, as there really is little to contradict that.

It's just harsh to say that Nero "Is absolutely not Vergil's son, no doubt about it."

Like, what the hell does anyone know? Heck, in a year, Capcom maybe counter's my approaches in another very twisted way?

And for the record, Dante's not in his late 20's, he's in his late 30's. And for what we know, Nero is somewhere near 20.

How could Nero be Sparda's son? (Mind you, these are things that may have been brought up by people here, or thought up by me.)

1. Sparda would have to have been with another woman before he met Eva or when he was married to her, because he died when Dante & Vergil were around... what 8 years old? This would mean that Dante would be younger than Nero (If before Eva) or about the same age (If with Eva).

1a. I don't think this is very likely because Sparda loved Eva from the bottom of his heart, so I highly doupt that he did this.

2. Nero being the secret child of Sparda and Eva.

2a. This is plausable but if this is it, the game is going to lose fans quick, so I hope not. Especially since Eva only took care of Dante and Vergil, so that would be pretty cold to Nero.

3. Eva could have been with another man.

3a. How would have Nero inherited Sparda's power if he's not even his father? Not very sensible at all.

Plus they keep saying the "TWIN" Sons of Sparda. Not Triplets. If Capcom includes Nero into the Sparda family by being the "lost" son, then Devil May Cry will die out by being taken away too far from where it started. If this were the case, the fans could join together to rebel against this to get Capcom to declare Nero's blood relationship non-canon. This isn't Star Wars, where when something comes out to the public, it is put into the history of the story.

...ahem. IF it does come down to Nero being Sparda's son.

To me, the most reasonable explanation would be Vergil possessing Nero's arm. Nero may be reffering to God giving him the arm because Nero doesn't know how his arm came to be that way. He doesn't know that the arm is Vergil's possession of him, and hey, in future games, more and more of Nero could become more like Nelo Angelo.

Let me just clear this whole thing up with a list.

1. Virgil is possessing Nero's arm. (Nero was not born with the arm just to clear a rumor up.)

2. The game takes place between DMC1 and DMC2. So odds are Nero got the arm shortly after Dante killed Nelo Angelo.

3. Nero doesn't have a DT. A blue aurua appears behind him when u press the DT button and every time Nero attacks a demon figured ghost shows up behind Nero (looks just like Virgil's DT in DMC3).

4. Virgil Never had any pyhsical relations with any1 in his life.(read the graphic novels)

and 5. The sparda legend speaks of only 2 sons of sparda so sparda did not have a 3rd son. (again clearing up a rumor)
