No!  Lies and slander! ...okay, well, maybe.  I went into another of my terrible writer's blocks, okay?  But I've got it back and I shall post part five because I got my act back together and have got my ass to work!  Insomnia is good for something after all. o.o

    Part Five
    : Darkness Essence
The third day had come and gone quicker than expected. Adelina's wound was only a small scab and a slight ache by then. Earth Mother Demetra had checked her health the third day to make sure the unnatural healing rate hadn't effected anything. Healing
    that
quickly wasn't the natural process and thus it could be flawed or incomplete for longer than realized. She was advised against anything that too more effort than a light run.

Vergil showed up at the front gates after leaving for the night, like always. He was surprised to find Adelina sitting serenely on the thick, silver gates that surrounded the Coven, her wings spread and tilted as if cutting the wind without movement. She was dressed in a shirt and matching skirt that wasn't sure what colour it wanted to be; depending how the light hit it, it could've been anything between light pink, white, baby blue or smoky grey. It shown almost like scales with the back open for her wings. It revealed as much as it hid. She obviously thought she was alone...

With an effortless and silent jump, he was standing atop the gate beside her. She, like everything else about her, made no movements or noise. She was enjoying the warm rays of the sun as it battled peacefully with the wind making an nice warmth mixture. He stood there, arms crossed and waited.

    “And they were expecting
    you
to be late,” she said suddenly and with a smile as her wings folded to her back now, and they disappeared.

“Typical,” he scoffed lightly, though didn't really care. It gave him a sense of accomplishment, though, to know it was the other way around.

“They have you figured out wrong,” Adelina's voice held a particular amusement to it, “I don't pretend to know everything about you, but I can say that you wouldn't be the type to be late for something important.”

He nodded in silent contemplation, “It doesn't matter what they think.”

“Hm, to you,” she was still tranquil as she watched the small expanse of wilderness between the Coven's large walls and the village that belonged to it; it was beginning to wake in the early morning rays, “But they are my family. To me, it would matter that they get it right.”

    “Dante's my family and--”

She giggled and smiled up at him, “O, don't even try
    that
! I know for a fact you care what he thinks! Whether you feel like changing or not is a different thing entirely than caring to know his thoughts on you.”

Vergil remained silent on the subject and ready to never submit to that, “How long do you expect this trip to take?”

    “Eager?” she smirked.

    He scoffed again, “Nevermind.”

As Adelina began to laugh again, Dante shook the gates from below announcing his presence, “Hey! What'd you say to him?! He's blushing like a school girl!”

This only made Adelina laugh even more making her lose balance a bit and almost fall. Vergil easily prevented it, though and picked her up, “Perhaps little girls shouldn't be sitting on fences.”

She rolled her eyes, “Little? Ha! You act younger than I do.”

“Say what you like, I will still refer to you as such,” he said jumping down near Dante still carrying her.

Dante's grin was bright as he watched them, “Didn't take long, hm?”

    Vergil glared at him, “Silence.”

Dante laughed, “You two are perfect for one another; you both ask impossible feats!”

Adelina saw Vergil's furious look and put a hand on his cheek to turn his face towards her, “I see no problem with being perfect for you.”

Vergil was surprised to find her lips touching his lovingly. They hadn't done so outside a private area, let alone in sight of anyone – that they knew were around, anyhow. He didn't object though, merely returned the gesture happy for a good reason to completely ignore Dante.

Adelina pulled away after a few brief moments, blushing from what she'd done. She wondered if she shouldn't have, but didn't speak on it. She looked between them both, “Now, you two need to be on your best behaviour, like Aden said. You may not be citizens, but you'll be with us...try to keep the arguing and the violence down to a minimum.”

“I will if he will,” Dante said immediately.

    Both
of you will no matter what! I'll have none of it in my presence!” she ordered sternly.

Vergil nodded; he had no intentions of even speaking to Dante. It could only be avoided through ignorance. Adelina suddenly gazed about, “Where is my brother?”
Just as soon as she'd said that, Torrin appeared from within the double doors of the Coven with Kyrie and Nero, all carrying their supplies and belongings. The two nodded respectfully, Torrin shooting Vergil a look. Adelina giggled lightly and made him set her down, “Are we all set? It's going to be quite a walk to the train.”
Torrin answered by walking past her, placing a hand on her shoulder momentarily before moving through the gates and leading them on. Nero and Kyrie chatted lightly behind him and in front of the final three. Dante nudged Adelina, “So, what's your brother's problem with Vergil?”

Vergil seethed at Dante's nosiness, but remained silent. As long as Adelina didn't complain, he wouldn't either. She laughed, “He's just overprotective, that's all.”

“Ooo, I get it!” he smirked darkly, “He's threatened by the fact that Vergil'll take you from him!”

Adelina rolled her eyes, “Yes, I guess that's one way of putting it...”

She glanced up at Vergil to find his expression neutral; that usually meant he was containing something, perhaps trying not to lash out and slice Dante's head off. She giggled and laced her fingers with his. He jumped surprised at this sudden display of affection.

“Haha, boo!” she laughed with amusement.

He gazed down at her for a long while making her blush like it always did. He ran a thumb across her chin and went back to gazing at the long road ahead of them.

    ***
Adelina laid down across the seat of the train with her head on Vergil's lap. He jumped back from his thoughts when she did and watched her closely after. She furrowed a brow in concern, “Are you alright? You've been drifting and jumpy all day...”

He would've leaned down to kiss her if Torrin wasn't eying them suspiciously, so he settled with caressing her cheek. He spoke low enough for only her to hear, “I've gotten a lead on how to break this bond...”

She rose her brows surprised, “So quickly?!”

He was pleased with her reaction, “It's merely a lead. It won't be concrete until I check it more thoroughly.”

Adelina smiled softly and turned her face to hide in his shirt, “You really want to break it?”

The question took him off guard and he hesitated before speaking, “You don't?”

Her eyes closed, she pushed her face against him more and hugged his arm tightly, “Sometimes...”

Vergil put a hand on her back to massage it, “Would it make a difference?”

He could feel her smile, “I suppose not much. It'd be harder for me to read you, though.”

“I'm sure you'll learn quickly,” his hand had traveled into her hair tangling softly within the silver.

    “Mm-hm...” she was dozing already.

He smirked and massaged the joint behind her neck. She tilted her head automatically and gradually, he could feel her fall asleep completely.

    ***
It was dark again, as it so often got with the bringing of the night. It was something she often questioned when she threw the blinds aside and found it brighter outside her room in the Coven than in it. She smiled out at the night sky; smiled back at the Silver Goddess and the constellations. She automatically could spot Orion's belt and the rest of it some therefore after. She'd gazed upon it so many times after the birth of her youngest brother that no matter how it shifted, it was never truly out of her range of sight.

Her eyes quickly identified the star on Orion's left shoulder, Betelgeuse, and the one of the right next, Bellatrix; Rigel soon on the right foot. The next constellation to the top right, Taurus came into her line of view and she counted the stars in it as well. Gemini, Auriga, Monoceros, Lepas and Eridanis followed in suit around Orion and she continued her way outward until the horizon, or something else, blocked her view.

Adelina leaned on the railing at the perimeter of the balcony and sighed exhaustedly. Another night of insomnia; another night of audience with the stars, their silent conviction hard upon her. Nightmares of a million uncertain futures and lost pasts deprived her rest.

She quickly sought to occupy her hands, twitching with idle desire to be put to work, finding herself a hair ribbon on her vanity. She sat in the small chair in front and watched her pale reflection as she tied the silver parts of her hair back into a high ponytail; her silvery liquid-blue bangs staying free to blanket her forehead and tickle her chin with thin fingers. It had recently been cut to just above her collarbones so the reflection she found seemed altered in comparison. Not that it was something she regretted...

As she continued her perfectionist's inspection of her semblant, her aquamarine eyes traveled down her sleek neck studying the gentle creases and declines moving with her breath, finally stopping at the pendant living in it's own light dwelling at the void between her breasts. The low collar shirt she wore at that moment made it half hide underneath, but as naturally as the power in her blood and the wings on her back giving her to the skies, she spoiled its game of hide and seek to look at it. It's pure silver chain was weaved expertly like unbreakable rope, the charm a clear orb that would glow lightly different colours when she needed it in darkness. At the moment, it was the silver and gold mix of Nemiyo's essence staying with her even through death...

    ***
Adelina woke to someone grasping her shoulder gently, and the train screeching to an abrupt halt; the kind that sent the obviousness that they weren't yet at their destination. She looked up to find Nemiyo in the position Vergil had once been in. She wouldn't be fooled this time though, and jerked away screaming. She was almost thrown to the floor but after she recovered from her moment of confusion, she realized the hands around her were Vergil's after all. An illusion?

“Adelina! What's wrong?” he kept his grip tight; he, too, was aware that the train wasn't supposed to stop where it did.

She held her temples and shook her head, “I don't know! I just...saw...”

He lifted her as he stood and laid her back down on the cushioned bench of the train, “Dante will be here with you. I'll return soon.”

Adelina was shocked that he'd left her in Dante's care. But before she had time to reason it out, she realised only Dante was there, “Where's Torrin? Are Kyrie and Nero okay?”

Dante leaned forward in his chair and offered a warm smile, “Torrin went where your lover is going. Nero and Kyrie are fine, I promise.”

She pulled herself into a sitting position and closed her eyes to suppress the quickly growing headache, “Thank you...”

“Why?” Dante's voice was gone now and replaced by Nemiyo's, though she could hear them overlap as Nemiyo said the word in Latin and Dante in English.

She slammed back screaming out frightfully. Soon, Nemiyo's decomposing semblant moved closer, matching hands reaching for her shoulders. She continued to scream and struggled against the hands that shook her as if from hysteria. The next moment, Nemiyo's painful corpse was replaced by Dante's warmth. He looked horrified as he yelled at her frantically, “
    Adelina! Come back!”

She shook and choked as she leaned forward into a loose embrace, though she was clinging tightly, “What's going on?!”

“Heh,” he patted her back gently, “You guys weren't kidding about the thin separation between the land of the dead and this one.”

She gazed up at him in total confusion, “What?”

“It would seem your former alistair is being manipulated, and from the looks of it, by a demon. I could be wrong about that, though I've just never heard of any human who'd use a resurrection incantation quite like that...” he explained.

Adelina shook her head, “It's more than just a resurrection spell...it's thickly layered in many others; manipulation, re and degeneration, mind-walking...”

“Indeed, which is what leads me to think it has to be a demon. I know of no humans with that capacity to do such all at once and for as long as it's been happening,”

Dante, like usual in a situation like such, sobered quickly and had a very advanced sense of judgment...though, she still waited for the comic relief; his attempt to calm her, or anybody around.

“I know no one like that either...well, except someone who's lost all control of their magick, but there are special lists of the status of those; they've all been bound. There's no reversing a binding,” she explained.

“Don't rule out the alliance of a demon and human,” he cautioned, “Underestimating your own could lead you to your death.”

She smiled a small smile and nodded as she considered, “Sounds about right...but what motive?”

“Have any enemies?” he asked quickly, gazing sternly at her.

Adelina watched his face as she thought, “I...not personally. Not that I would know of...”

Dante sighed and shook his head wordlessly. He was out of ideas. Adelina leaned forward, placing her forehead in her palm supported at the elbow by her leg. She couldn't think of anything, so her lips automatically began to move in a spell of calming. Dante was watching, intrigued.

“Do those spells really work?” he was less serious, more playful now.

“They do for me most of the time...” she offered a soft smile, “I could teach you sometime.”

He laughed, “A demon using witchcraft? Sounds fun!”

Adelina had to giggle as well, “Well...my people are angels. Is that much less perplexing?”

“Maybe it's your own power and not the spell or Goddess themselves” he suggested carefully.

    She smiled, “Perhaps. It's possible...”

The train suddenly began to move again, slowly at first, but then picked up higher than normal speeds. Dante stood, holding onto the baggage rack above them for support, “***...”

She gazed up, frightened, “What is it?”

He was silent and staring hard at the door for a moment. Soon, his hand outstretched and he stood between her and the door, “Get back now...”

She did as told and threw herself onto the floor behind him. Just as she did, the door exploded into a fury of demons. Dante already had his guns out by then and fired mercilessly. She was amazed to see his abilities; no demon got past the frame of the door as it was shot back and took many of its friends with it in the process. Adelina forced herself to close her eyes,
'What am I doing gawking? I am not helpless!”

She stood, opened her eyes and flung her arm out. Her wind illuminated with radiant light and took out every single demon in the range of the doorway and shooting them through the window across the hallway. Dante looked over his shoulder and gave her a smirk, “Nice.”

Adelina flushed bashfully and nodded, “Thank you!”

He grabbed her arm and led her out the door, “I don't care what Vergil says. Staying in one place doesn't seem safe to me.”

She knew he was going to hear it from Vergil when this was over and she giggled at that. It was so cute.

As they moved quickly through the corridour of the train, they came into a wider open area free over compartments. It looked like a dinning room area. Demons jumped up from under the tables at them and through the window leading to the kitchen where the food was ordered. Disgusting, mindless things they were. Good thing, too, or else it would've taken thought power to kill them. It would be easy to just blast anything mindless lashing at you. It was a scary thought knowing there would be something behind it. Knowing there was someone sending them and they were after her, and possibly her brother.

But what of Dante and Vergil? Where did they stand?

Her thoughts where interrupted as one of the demons jumped onto her back and began to pull at her hair. She screamed out and Dante quickly shot at it, splattering its head clear off and all over the wall. Traces of the blood ran down her exposed back. Someone from the side grabbed her by the arm and dragged her into another room.

“Adelina!” he yelled and was prevented entry as the door slammed shut and locked.

Adelina was thrown down into a chair in the room which was an office of some sort. A talk man leered down at her with a wicked smile. His hair was dark and long to his shoulders, his eyes a perfect match to the black mass. He had a slightly shadow on his chin and he was dressed completely in black; black long-sleeved shirt, black pants and boots. There was a gold chain around his right wrist and she identified a sun shaped charm on it. Her eyes widened a bit at it.

“The Horned God...” she whispered mostly to herself.

The smile widened, “Brains and a beauty to boot...”

She glared now at his eyes which were set deep into his pale skin, his brows thick, “Who are you?”

He remained silent for a long moment, just watching her pale face. He seemed to be memorizing her features as he leaned forward and brushed a strange of blue from in front of her aquamarine eyes. She pulled away, angry with how he touched her without permission; it was rude. He chuckled in amusement, “I'm your enemy, Adelina. Who else would I e?”

As he said this, Namiyo stepped through the door Dante was now hard at work trying to pound down with his sword. Adelina knew it would be of no use; it wasn't held just by a lock. The whole door was stopped into its place by magick. He was wasting his time. Adelina couldn't help drawing a breath at the sight of Nemiyo.

He wasn't in corpse form at the moment, more like phantom form. She could see through him slightly and he bowed to the dark haired man. Adelina wanted to protest, but knew it was no good. She looked away.

“Chole Negri, sweetheart,” he grabbed her by the chin, “I believe you know him.”

Tears gathered in her eyes, but she wouldn't cry in front of him, “Let him free!”

“O, but he is ever so useful to me...and so are you,” the way he said it made her blood go cold.

She asked the obvious question lingering the air and she was sure he was waiting for it, “What do you want?!”

“That, too, is very simple,” his hand reached for the orb around her neck and touched it with his thumb, “Your essence.”

Before she had the chance to stop him, he snapped the orb's chain without even having to tug at it and took the orb for himself, “So this is part of Nemiyo's...”

It had been given to her as a gift when he'd declared the binding vows of belong to her, and taking her to him. It wasn't something someone did ever day, though...to preserve part of one's essence and gift it to another meant you trusted them enough to use the power the right way. It had kept her from mourning Nemiyo so much to cause her own destruction. She shrieked when he took it and tried to grab it back.

Nemiyo reacted and easily constricted her. Adelina struggled as the man, 'Chole', laughed, “Good boy. She'll be coming with us and if she's a good girl, you'll have your partner back again.”

Chole walked towards the wall and disappeared through it. Nemiyo nodded and slammed the butt of his hand against the back of her head. She fell forward into his arms, vision blurring until finally everything was black. She though she heard Dante finally break down the door and yell her name, but there was no time to be sure.

    ***
What do you mean they took her?!”

Dante's inevitable fate was upon him as he sat in their compartment, the train back on course, with Vergil standing over him in a fury. Nero had taken Kyrie away so she wouldn't have to witness the demon's rage. Dante glanced out the window begrudgingly.

“I did what I could, Vergil,” he said again, “But this enemy--”

Vergil interrupted, “You should have kept here
    here
    ! Like I told you!”

“I'm sorry, alright?! What the hell is yelling about it going to do to stop what's already happened?!”

Vergil seethed and turned away knowing he was right. He crossed his arms over his chest and paced towards the door silently. After a while, he asked, “Did you see who it was?”

“No, but I could tell by the energy surrounding the door that it was someone like her...it wasn't demon,” he explained.

“One of her people did this?” he asked, almost startled.

“Are there other groups who use magick like that?” Dante shrugged.

Vergil, knowing more about Adelina and her people than Dante, knew it was exactly magick. But if it wasn't demon, the only answer would be someone from Amphegorey.

“The only thing I don't get is Adelina told me that she knew of no one who held grudge against her or her family,” Dante said exasperated.

Vergil took the information in. It made everything so much more difficult. The enemy was one who hadn't made themselves known yet. Could it be that it was a family grudge that had never been shared from her parents to the children? Perhaps Torrin knew something about it.

That's when his rage subsided slightly and he glanced around the cabin. Dante saw this and tilted his head, “What?”

    “Where's Torrin?”

Okay...this is why the last chapter took so long to do.  I really need someone to tell me what they think.  I don't mean just "O, it's good."  I'm talking about cold, hard opinion.  Not so much on the style and grammar, I know about that.  Anything specifically that you liked?!  Anything specifically that you did not like?  Am I progressing too fast? Any suggestions as to what should happen next?

My main source of inspiration is people who are waiting for more and I just don't see the point if I'm busting my ass for a simple "It's good."  Well, if it's just good, it's not worth it.  Try to understand that I'm a serious writer and I strive for perfection.  It's call OCD.  To me, there's bigger and better things to do than a fanfiction that's "just good," which can't inspire much more than that, can't give you a feel for the characters, can't do much of anything.  If you're not particularly impressed or something specific didn't jump at you as pretty cool, there's really no point to continuing moderate work.  And just take a look; I have only two people who are actually interested.  That's just pathetic.  I look at people who are popular and to me my writing is much more advanced.

But I do notice that people won't read anything long.  Nothing like my stuff.

Don't get me wrong, part six is well on it's way being halfway through page three, but I noticed something just now with it; the scenes are so short and there's a lot of breaks.  With me, that's not good.  It really tells you my ideas are weak and scattered.  I have little inspiration to run on and I'm running low on ideas.  It's because I'm running on negative twenty-three inspiration and I'm pulling it straight out of my ass at this point.  Which is unexceptable.

I'm not asking too much, am I?  I really don't think I am, because it's pretty easy for me to give the kind of thing I'm asking.  Typically when I read something someone's wrote and they're open for discussion, I discuss it.  If there really is nothing that struck me as brilliant, I let them know so they don't waste their goddamned time.

And I don't want to hear; "You want critiue?  Go to Deviantart."
I am there.  I've been there since July of a year or two ago.  I get nothing from that.  Nobody comments my ***.  And I've been there a legitimate enough time to say I can just give up.  And I have.

I'm also on fanfiction.net and fictionpress.com, I still get nothing.  So, what I see is I'm simply just not interesting enough.  I'm simply just another face with no sort of identity and nothing for anyone to like.  And I'm getting sick of it.  I already can't draw more than designs for tattoos.  My art muse is literally gone.  I was doing better with my artwork when I was not showing it to anyone.  And I'm close to doing that again.

I'm sorry if I'm sounding harsh, I'm sorry for this being extremely long winded and bitchy, but I'm in serious place right now.  I'm panicking because I can't draw anymore, something that use to come so natural to me.  And even writing is becoming a chore.  And I know it's because there's nothing fueling me to move forward.  There's nothing helping me move forward.  "This is really good" tells me nothing.

Okay, I'm done whining.  I just hope someone will hear it.  Thanks.

Re: NijiArkoiris ~ Xkei's new Hole in the Sky

Ok, I can see where your coming from, I mean what's the point in writing and drawing stuff if no one takes notice? But I can say that there would be more people than just me and blue reading your stories (eg Guests for example who aren't members). It's just that we're the only ones that are commenting, and I can see why you'd find that frustrating. As for the 'Oh, it's good', your story isn't just good, it's great, fantastic, awesome ^_^ So I can understand why you wouldn't continue if it's only 'good', but it's not, it's far better than that ^_^ As for the critique, we can't really give you any, well I know I can't because I see nothing wrong with your work. You have great punctuation, grammer etc. There's nothing i can see that needs improving. I know that may not help you, but it's the truth ^_^

The way you structure the characters is amazing. I mean you've constructed Dante and Vergil perfectly, and what's even more impressive is the way you have Vergil with his more 'romantic' side, a side no one has ever seen, and the way you've constructed him, we can all imagine that to be true (ie despite how unromantic he would seem, you've made it believable), and that in itself is amazing ^__^

I hope what I've said helps you in some way. I know it must be hard if your lacking inspiration, but maybe you need a break or something, I'm not sure. Either way I hope it comes back. If there's anything else you need, feel free to ask me (via pm or whatever ^_^)

I wish you luck with your stories and art ^_^

Re: NijiArkoiris ~ Xkei's new Hole in the Sky

alright, il admit it, my last few Comments havent done your Story Justice. I guess this is what had you down the other day... @.@;....its all becomeing so blantly clear now.

Sence you have asked so nicely in prievious posts, il rego threw E-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g About what I like and what I dislike about the story.

    Like:
I like your charichter Development, on both Fictinal and Original charichters
Your writeing style (have I beat that nito your head yet >_>.... )

I also Enjoy the importent details you pay to Evrything, but know enoph to just leave some stuff out to the Readers imagination, your descriptions on everythign els can lead th ereaders mind to what it really looks like.

You can keep the pace of a story going, I have yet to be... "-_-;....uuuugh when will this scene eeeeend" with your Fanfic, wich I have doen on a few books... (Obviously, it left me bewildered later in the book for skipping over important detail).

    Dislike:

You know, that when I potray Vergil (not saying I do him justice) I make him a hard ass untill its mutch to late lol, I thaught that there Romantic relationship could have waited a bit longer... then again, what els would you fil the pages up with?.

I some times Catch myself Reading your Prievious story's and makeing a Connection. I know you said you Recycle Ideas, and some times its pretty easy to see it >__>.

Hope that helps you a little bit. Id actually call you lucky. You can go to A lot of peoples Fanfiction areas and find double tripple and Quadrouple posts of the Writer continueing his story Without even the slightest Comment. not even a "U r doin gud lolz" And that little comment there isnt asking for a lot at all O.o......... Just remmember as little Critique's you do get, it is mor than moast on this site.

There is a memmber on here who is Verry good with Critique's. actually, I can say Break gives good sugestions, if you can get him to read threw it. then there is Yuki.n. but I believe he/she is trying to help out another memmber.

I dare say my post is getting almoast as long as one of your chapters so il stop here.... lol

Theres a hole in the world like a Great black pit and ists filled with people who are filled with ***!.
