Devil May Cry Story:Please feel free to read and voice your opinions.

It was a dark night and heavy rain fell. The man in the black suit stood on the rooftop waiting for something, another man perhaps. Although the man stood in the rain he remained quite dry. The man heard footsteps, and turned around towards the edge of the roof. He bent over the edge slightly and saw a man defying gravity itself and running up the the skyscraper's side. The man's name was Tony and he was about six feet tall and wore a white t-shirt with a black windbreaker over. On his bottom half he wore dark blue jeans and at his side was a small japanese style katana.

"I am sorry for keeping you waiting so long. I ran into some "problems" on my way here."

"No, don't worry about it. I completely understand. After all, I arranged this last minute."

"Well, I have brought my half with me. Do you have yours?"

"Of course, why else would I have met you here in the cold and rain?"

"I am sorry, but certain questions need to be asked. Especially when you consider the conditions under which you have called this meeting."

"I apologize for the conditions but this simply needed to get done. Now hand over your half and I will gladly give you the sword."

    "Show it to me."

The man in the black suit dropped the large briefcase he was carrying and bent down to open it. Inside the briefcase was a blade and a hilt, seperated from eachother. The blade was of the double edged variety and was adorned with many words in demonic print. Down the center of the blade was many small circular holes. These holes would cut the weight of the sword in half. The hilt was long and slender until it reached the bottom where a it seems a small metal human skull was erected. The man in the black suit reached into the briefcase and grasped the blade in one hand and the hilt in the other. The man in the black suit spoke to Tony.

"I need but a little of your blood to combine both parts of this sword."

"Why? Didn't you bathe the sword in both human and demon blood?"

"Why yes, I did. However, this sword will only truly acknowledge you as its master if your blood is the blood that binds both hilt and blade."

"I see, well then let us finish our little transaction."

The man pulled his signature sword from its sheath at his side and made a nice clean cut into his hand. The man in the suit grabbed an empty vial from his coat pocket and filled it with the blood of Tony. The man in the suit poured some blood onto the bottom end of the sword and fused the hilt and the blade, but not all the blood was used. The man put the vial back in his pocket and handed the sword to his associate.

Sidenote: This is just the very beginning please tell me how I am doing criticism is also welcomed.

Re: Devil May Cry Story:Please feel free to read and voice your opinions.

This is just a post regarding how this is going to work. I have come up with an idea that will allow readers to interact with the story but ultimately let me drive it in the direction I want it to go. At the end of every major post I make I will leave my readers with a decision or activity that will determine how the story will advance. This time, I want the readers of this to decide what the halves are that are reffered to in this introduction. For instance you might want them to be Dante and Virgil's amulet halves.(I am open to anything you throw at me)

Please note that if a post is not answered within three days I will advance the story regardless.

Re: Devil May Cry Story:Please feel free to read and voice your opinions.

Continued: Tony quickly snatched the sword out of the man's hand and walked right past him.

"Where are you going? This is not over!"

"No my friend, I am afraid this is over. You see I have my sword. Plus I just am not ready to relinquish my half of the key." said Tony quite calmly in contrast with his associate's angered reaction

"Come back here! No one turns their back on me! No one!"

    "I just did."

That was it, that one sentence triggered something in the man. He reached in his coat and pulled out a small revolver-style gun. He pointed it at Tony and shot, three times. As soon as the first bullet hit, Tony stopped all forward progress. In three, no, two steps he reached the man in the suit. With his new blade he impaled the man who had tried to kill him. The man looked into Tony's brown eyes and worked up a chuckle. With the chuckle came small amounts of blood.

"You think this is over Tony? Do ya! This is NEVER over."

Tony pushed the sword further into the man's torso.

"Th-th-this is n-never over." the man managed to stutter.

The final face he saw was that of Tony. A boyish face, with a full head of spiked blonde hair. It was hard even as he was dying to imagine such a boyish face commiting murder. He coughed up blood one last time and then everything, at least to him turned black.

Tony placed his hand on the chest of the now dead man, and pulled his sword from the lifeless body. "Cannon fodder" Tony gloated. Tony knelt down at the side of the corpse and searched but two pockets before he found the second half of the key. It was no ordinary key either, no. This key was a was a transparent blue orb, cut in two. Tony called it the north star because a perpetual faint dark aura emitted from it. Tony stood up once more and walked towards the roof access door.

Tony opened the door and slowly proceeded down the stairs, it had been a long night. When he finally exited the building he headed straight to his apartment complex. When he was in front of his apartment door one of his neighbors a woman, named Maria, spoke to him "See ya purchased yourself a new sword looks cool. You must tell me where you get those swords I am thinking of buying one myself."

"Sorry but all my swords are custom made by a very expensive swordsmith."

"Ok well I just thought I would ask you after all, you do owe me a "couple" bucks."

"Don't worry I will get you your money soon."

"Money, who said I wanted money? I want won of those custom made swords."

"Well you are not going to get one. How bout I buy you dinner?"

Maria giggled "The last time I agreed to eating dinner with you, you left half way through after recieving a call on your cell."

"Don't worry, this time I will take the entire day off. Maybe I can give you a tour of the town, seeing how you are new and all."

    "Maybe."

    "So is it a date?"

Okay guys here is the choice you are ging to make this time:Does Maria accept or reject Tony's date proposal?

Re: Devil May Cry Story:Please feel free to read and voice your opinions.

Maria gave Tony a look that seemed to sat it all, she was going to refuse the proposal.

"I am sorry Tony but I am gonna have to pass. Don't forget to bring me my money."

Maria opened her apartment door and just before stepping inside, and blew Tony a kiss.

"Women. Can't live with em can't live without em."

Tony pulled his apartment key out of his jeans pocket and inserted it into the doorknob. He slowly turned it and heard the familiar clicking sound signaling the unlocking of his apartment door. Tony untied the katana at his side and threw  it on his couch. After this, Tony simply planted the broadsword in his apartment floor.

"What am I gonna name you" said Tony talking to the broadsword "Do you like the name Beautiful?"

After receiving no reply from the sword, Tony frowned and sat on his mattress. He glanced over at the broadsword and briefly examined its features. The blade looked a lot like the one his mother had given him before she died. The mounted one in his room was mostly plain except for the skull at the end of the hilt. His mother had told him it was called the Edge, or something like that. Tony just then thought of something. Maybe he could dual-wield the two broadswords. They were nearly equal in length, size, and weight.

Just after pondering this idea, the apartment door flew open and someone, Tony was definitely not expecting, was standing in the doorway.

    "Its been a while Tony."

    "Too long."

"What is it now ten years? I was never good at keeping track of human time."

Tony managed a small chuckle "Last time I remember seeing you was twenty-one years ago."

"Has it really been that long?" said the man before taking a step in Tony's direction

Tony took a step forward and slowly reached for his katana. "Unfortunately yes. Now are you going to tell me why you are here Hector or am I going to have to interrogate you?"

"Always, always always always. Such violence in your voice when you talk to me. Why? I thought we were friends, no brothers."

"I am sorry, but I am an only child."

The man named Hector took another  step forward and pulled Tony's new broadsword out of the apartment floor.

"You always did have good taste in swords. What happened to that impressive collection of yours?"

"Those pieces of junk? I had them smelted to make that beauty you are holding."

"Surely this sword did not require that much steel, and that much blood."

How could he know that? That is not something you can tell from looking at it.

"What's wrong Tony? You seem to be a little shaken. Maybe in death you will be a little less antsy!"

Just then, Hector sliced Tony's couch in half with the new blade. Tony, luckily, managed to pull off a backflip. Tony quickly unsheathed the katana and performed a horizontal slash. Hector deflected it, but Tony used his sheath to hit Hector in his stomach. Hector wasn't prepared for what would come next, Tony instead of impaling him while he was off-guard threw his sheath to the side and attempted to disarm Hector. Hector however was too strong and instead threw Tony against the wall of the apartment. Tony retreated into his bedroom and unmounted the sword which lay on his wall. Tony looked strange with his combination of the katana and broadsword.

"Why must you run? You are only delaying the inevitable."

"Run, who said I was running?"

Re: Devil May Cry Story:Please feel free to read and voice your opinions.

Tony struck the doorway between his bedroom and his TV room and totally destroyed it. Pieces of wood, metal, and plaster flew in Hector's direction and temporarily blinded him. Tony swung downward with both swords at Hector. Hector raised the new blade to protect himself but could not avoid both swords. The katana, hacked a small piece of flesh away from Hector's shoulder. Hector grunted and and looked over at his shoulder.

He has improved since last we met. I shouldn't have come unprepared.

"Getting a little worried there aren't we?"

    "You wish."

Tony and Hector exchanged gazes in a stare down of sorts. Hector kicked Tony off of him and ended that faze of their battle.

"This place is a little cramped and you are destroying my apartment. I think its time we took this outside."

"Maybe, then again corpse doesn't need an apartment."

"Corpse, who said anything about a corpse? I am going to live here."

"You always were a smart aleck."

    "Always was, always will be."

Tony ran in the direction of Hector and while running tossed the katana to the side. Just before reaching Hector, Tony raised his blade. Then when a few feet away from him, he slashed down and they locked blades. Hector spat at Tony, but Tony didn't so much as flinch. The tension between the swords increased and both knew if they were to give ground, or lessen their force they would be dead. The two pushed off each other and Tony went flew against the apartment wall while Hector fell off the balcony.

Tony quickly got up and ran outside. He looked over the balcony and Hector and the sword were nowhere to be seen. Just as he was about to skulk back to his apartment, a hand reached from under the balcony and pulled him over the edge. Hector and Tony began to fall and both hit the ground. The fall would have killed most humans, but these were not humans, these were mutts, hybrids, half-breeds. They were spawn of Sparda though not from the same mother or father. These were the second generation. Vergil and Dante's time had long gone by. Now there were six of demon and human lineage. Hector and his kin were conceived in an unnatural fashion. They are children of Vergil's humanity that he gave up long ago. They are merely the remnants of his untainted soul after Mundus enslaved him.

These remnants were ejected from Vergil's body and manifested themselves into flesh and blood resembling the son of Sparda. Tony however, was the child of the righteous demon slayer Dante. Dante gave his heart to a woman whom had once gave her life for him, Trish. Together, they raised a son that could rival the power of Dante. When he came of age, Dante taught him the way of the sword and his lineage. With this knowledge, Tony sought to increase his powers and augment them with devil arms. After obtaining the Yamato katana, and receiving the Force Edge from his mother, he began a quest around the world looking for swords of legend such as Excalibur. His quest led him to a small town in Spain where he had a sword made to fit his needs. This is where our story began.

No, but the Tony bit was an easter egg of sorts for people who have read the book. This is a completely original story. How do you like the history behind the second generation of half breeds?

Re: Devil May Cry Story:Please feel free to read and voice your opinions.

Tony used his sword as a support so he could get back on his feet. The fall had left a few bruises but that was it. Tony looked at Hector who was on the ground right at his feet. It seemed as though he was unconscious. Tony pointed his sword towards the ground and was getting ready to finish off Hector when he was stabbed. The sword was lodged in his gullet or, stomach if you will. Tony dropped his blade and it made a metallic clink when it hit the ground.

    "You shouldn't have hesitated."

The pain was so intense that Tony could not speak.

"What's wrong? Not such a smart aleck now, are you?"

Tony could barely manage to lift his middle finger and utter the words "F*** you."

Hector laughed at Tony's effort to insult him. "You really are amusing. You know that?"

The only response Hector received this time was Tony's slow shallow breathing. Blood trickled down the blade which was lodged in Tony's stomach. The dark red substance moved slowly and unevenly, until it reached the hilt where it collected. The sword, reacted to Tony's blood and repelled Hector by burning his hands. Hector winced in pain and let go of the sword's hilt. He grunted and looked at his hands.

What just happened? Damn you Tony! You always get f***ing lucky!

Then Tony ceased to feel the pain. He placed his hand on his sword and pulled it from his stomach. As he pulled the sword out of his torso, his wound began to steam. After retrieving his sword from his own stomach, Tony pointed the weapon at Hector.

"How the tide has turned." mocked Tony

Hector remained silent and could only reply with a hateful stare.

"What's wrong? Cat got your tongue?"

    Damn him!

Hector rushed at Tony unarmed, but at the last second performed an acrobatic leap over Tony's head. Hector began running as fast as he could in the opposite direction of Tony.

"Where do you think you are going?!" yelled Tony

Tony threw his sword with amazing accuracy in the direction of Hector. The sword split Hector's left arm in two, just above the elbow. Hector could hear the bone crack and the flesh tear, they were terrible sounds. Hector screamed in pain and cursed under his breath. Tony picked up the Force Edge just before his other sword came back to him in a boomerang fashion. As Hector ran, he left a trail of blood. Tony let Hector continue running, for he could track him in the morning.

Tony didn't even bother using the stairs and instead jumped onto the balcony in front of his apartment. He walked through the door frame, which was ruined. Tony then picked his beloved Yamato off of his couch as well as it's sheath and joined them once more. After doing this he tied the katana at his side. Then, he crossed the two broadswords on his back. Tony grabbed the cash under his mattress and was about to walk down the stairs when he saw Maria looking at him.

    "Tony, where are you going?"

    "Nowhere, I'll be back soon."

"You actually expect me to believe that you are coming back?"

"Yes, I do. I expect you to trust me."

    "Why?"

"Because you are my only friend. You are the only person who has ever befriended me. i have been an outcast all my life."

    "You? Cool and smooth Tony?"

"Yes me. Who else? People are afraid of me Maria. Afraid of my past I suppose. It follows me everywhere I go."

"What are you talking about Tony?"

"Earlier, my past caught up with me again and I almost hurt you. I can't let that happen."

Tony walked over to Maria and kissed her. He didn't know what it was about this woman, but she made him feel, what was the word? Extraordinary was all that came to mind. Maria blushed then broke eye contact with Tony.

    "Why did you do that?"

    "I wasn't thinking."

Maria had hoped that Tony would just admit he was in love with her, but what were the chances of that? Actions speak louder than words anyways. Maybe that was  Tony's style. Actions to express how he felt, not words. At any rate, Maria now knew how Tony felt about her.

"I want you to have this. Keep it safe. It is very special to me."

Tony reached into his pocket and pulled out the marble-sized object he called the North Star. He placed it in Maria's hand and walked away possibly, forever.

Now, there are a few to whom it is known that the half-breed Hector, has one brother and one sister. Tony knows not of their existence. As powerful as the devil child Hector may have seemed, his brother was greater in strength than him. Now, even though the brothers may both be great in strength, their sister is even greater.  She is the patriarch and elder, and as such has inherited more than Vergil's appearance. She has inherited his awesome speed, power, and demonic potential. She is the first of the second generation to achieve the state of devil trigger, and so far the only one.

Although elder, she stood at a mere five foot seven inches. She wore a dark blue tube top, and skinny black jeans. Her eyes were blue, her hair silver, and a face like Vergil's. Her hair is beautifully long and ties into a ponytail. She is the most beautiful of all demons and possibly humans.

After descending down the apartment complex steps, Tony saw that the trail of blood had disappeared. His only means of tracking and killing Hector had disappeared. Tony walked over to his motorcycle, hopped on, and rode off into the distance. After riding for three days human time, and reflecting on his innermost thoughts, Tony had made s decision. It was either kill, or be killed. Hector must die, for him to live. To be able to commit such an act, killing his own kin, he decided that emotion was his enemy. Emotion would lead to hesitation, and hesitation would lead to death. Tony would have to kill his emotions, and in the process his love for Maria would fade. This however was a process he must go through.

It took him three years, three years in solitude. Only after those three years was he ready to embark on the journey that would lead to so much strife among the devil children. The result of theses three years would be pain and suffering that not even the devil children would be ready for.
