I'm just curious what other people think about Nero's abilities and strength compared to Dante and Vergil over the course of the series.

 It's obvious that Dante was playing around with Nero in DMC 4, as Dante demonstrated, and Nero conceded that he was holding back.

 However, it seemed that when Dante had dropped his guard too much, Nero tore him a new one in their first fight, and Dante admitted he was underestimating him.

 

Is Nero comparable to DMC 3 Dante, in terms of abilities and strength by the storyline? Does Devil Bringer turn him over that threshold? I'm kind of interested in what other people think.

 I'm not talking in terms of game mechanics, obviously, but storyline continuity.
 

This sounds intresting, I hope this Debate wont get loaded with fans of Dante or Vergil who think they will win for the only soul purpose that they like that charichter.

I cannot say,  really, I havent played DMC4 yet, but from what little I saw, Dante could Probly woop Nero =/... Than again, I have yet to see later Cut scenes, I know Nero gets more powerfull as the game will progress, but from what I saw, he dosent stand too big a thret >_>;

Well favoritism aside, the whole Devil Bringer concept is an interesting idea. Nero and his DB have quite a bit of potential and as the game goes on, of course he gets stronger. As all main characters do as they progress. But really Dante and Vergil have much more power and battle experience right now. Nero also has a lot of maturing to do. I dont think he will catch up to the Twins league for a long long time.

anyway, yea, it's just all with what's most recent. dmc 3 made a lot of vergil fanboys, so we have some nero ones now. can't say it's bad or good, because it's always going to happen.

 

at any rate, nero is kinda braty, but so was dmc 3 dante.
