 i somewhat agree, and my speculation follows:

i believe that virgil has somehow possessed nero's arm, which would explain why the only thing it was really used to hold was yamato, virgil's prized sword

also, it is supported by nero saying that he heard his arm say "...power......i need more power.." or something which are also virgil's words that i think he said in the 3rd game

but anyways i donno, i also find it weird to see angelo in front of the names of some of the people in the order (nelo angelo)

i really don't know, some of the biggest plot holes i've ever seen i thought they would at least say something about dante's relationship to nero

 

 

yea I thought they would explain Dante's relationship with Nero to but nothing the only thing they gave us was that Dante said he has to keep the sword(yamato) in the family and at the end he lets Nero keep it but there is nothing els that can prove any of this.

I think the reason that a few of the bosses had Angelo in front of there name was because if you remember people said that nelo Angelo in another language I think they said Spanish means fallen angel so Angelo has to mean angel and Credo and Agnes did say they are angels now.

yea I know when Dante said its got to stay in the family he is talking about himself I just meant that since he did say this maybe they are telling us Nero has something to do with Dante but since I have no proof of this and this is technically a rumor we can only make assumptions for this because capcom didn't really give us a lot of info in this game. But yea you are right he is talking about himself my mistake.

Yes!  How awesome would the game have been if if started off on a close up of a charred and injured body on the ground, and it looks dead, then you see the fingers twitch, and the camera pans across the body, and eventually you realise it's Vergil.  Over the top of this, you hear a character explaining the story of Sparda again, and so you'd think it would be Sparda, but then once it zooms out and it's Vergil, it'd be like, yes!  Then you see Vergil open his eyes, and then it makes a quick cut to Dante's office, and the phone is ringing.  Certainly, Mundus would return, and Vergil would be after him as well - Dante wouldn't know he was alive.  Vergil must start from scratch, perhaps he has to go on a mission to retrieve his sword, so he starts off with something else, like there could be a cut-scene early on where he kicks a demon's ass and takes that weapon as a starting point.  Then once you get to Yamato, it'd be on, and he'd get new moves for it, and also get other weapons.  Awesome.

in response to the angelo enemies thing. If you read the enemy data in the mission select menu, it tels you that Agnus created all of his demons, using the remnants of the legendary Nelo Angelo

I'm with Ken on this one. I just beat the game and I gotta say I'm split. The gameplay was badass! Visually, and gameplay wise it was perfect. But the story was a letdown. They didnt explain how Nero got the damn arm, didnt explain where Yamato fits in and how it was broken, and didnt exactly say how Nero is related to Dante. I'm sure they will address this in DmC5. But honestly, these are things that should have been explained better in THIS game.

Ok, so who wants to wait 3-4 years to get answers?? Anyone?

Oh one more complaint: A timer in Bloody Palace is the dumbest idea in the game.

alright i think yamato was broken in the fight between virgil and mundus at the end of the 3rd game, seein as it didn't show up in the first game, but i donno, i agree the end was disappointing

3 TO 4 YRS! UGH NNNNNOOOOOO!!!!!!! They got ALOT of explaining 2 do n Dmc5 when they make it. And they BETTER explain EVERYTHING! And 4 the love of God make the game a LIL BIT HARDER. I beat that game n like 3hrs. i wuz hoping it would hold me 4 at least a week. it didnt even make it a day. whos with me on that?

u mite as well call it that. theres human mode (easy) Devil Hunter mode (medium) Sons of Sparda (Hard) Dante must die (Really Hard) and Heaven or Hell (EXTREMELY HARD) i wuz playn Dh mode. There r only 2 modes they let u choose 4rm when u 1st start. I picked Dh. Thinkn itd b a lil tough at least. NOPE,my lil 3yr old nephew could play and beat that mode. lol

i agree with all points made.  again, the biggest thing that bugged me was not explaining the origins of the devil bringer.  from the trailers, it made it sound like nero would have gotten it around the beginning of the game.  but from the game, it seems like he had it his whole life (or most of it).  like when he said around the end, "Ya' know God, i always hated that you made my arm like this..."  and when he first uses it in the first few cut scenes, he knew exactly how to use it (like when he threw that stone sword at dante just before the Devil Bringer tutorial).  And when nero encountered sanctus ("his holiness"), he mentioned nero had "the blood of sparda."  does that mean that nero really is related to dante in some distant way?  even though capcom said dante and nero weren't related.  (example, however unlikely: sparda knocked up some woman decades before he met eva and is neros great, great, great grandfather or something stupid like that.  that may explain why nero is considered human and that the devil bringer was the result of some recessive gene trait.)

stupid?  yes.  a better explanation than just the game itself gave us?  maybe, maybe not

 as a side note, details added in this game seem to confirm that vergil is indeed dead (disappointing as that sounds, *sniffle*).  two things point toward this:

1. in the little clip that plays as the game first loads on the PS3 version (don't know if it does it on the 360 one), it mentions that nelo angelo is the "departed soul of dantes brother vergil"

2. as was already mentioned, the bianco angelo (white armor enemies) were said to made from the remains of nelo in the enemy profiles

Yea from what it said it means Vergil is dead but you forget that Kobayashi did say in one of the first interviews of DMC4 that Vergil is a major part of the game and fans do love him a lot so they cant just get rid of him whether they resurrect him bring him back as nelo Angelo or just say that Nero and Vergil are now one person (I really hope they do not do this one) then they still have to bring him back if he is resurrected then he will go after Nero to get his sword back because Nero now has it.

i know what you mean.  i also hope he isn't dead, cuz him coming back for yamato or whatever other reason kobyashi(sp?)  would make a great game in it of itself, but for the time being, i'm still concerned about the devil bringers origins and if he really is related to sparda at all
