Face Off (Irritation Sequel) WARNING! Lot's of swearing

Dante ran, no, sprinted around the stone pathway leading to the top of Temi-ni-gru. His right hand came back to clutch the sheath of his sword as he descended the stairway. Prepared for anything in case Vergil decided to be sneaky and attack him the moment he got up there. However the stoic twin was standing at the opposite end, back facing Dante.
"You actually made it brother?" Vergil inquired not bothering to turn around. The tone of his voice made it sound like he was a little surprised. As if he believed that Dante would not have what it took to get up there.
"I'm surprised you stayed up here this long Vergil. Thought you would've gotten bored and hit the road." Dante replied with a small grin. The blue clothed devil turned around and looked over at Dante. Blue eyes piercing into similar orbs. Both brothers stood there silent for what seemed like ten minutes. Neither one made a move to attack the other. Vergil started to walk the circumference of the top, and Dante followed suit the opposite direction.
"I'm surprised Verg, you took to being in a camaraderie with these bone heads? Whatever happened to my intelligent brother? Do I have to pick up that slack too?" Dante said half-joking and half-serious. Vergil stopped, his hand around Yamato's hilt loosely.
"I too am surprised you could live amongst the humans." Vergil retorted calmy, coolly. His expression and cold tone not wavering for a minute. Dante felt a twinge of anger start up at the comment. He made a sort of 'hmph' sound and looked off briefly.
"Hey bro are you forgetting..." The red cloaked devil started.
"Forgetting what?" Vergil asked not moving.
"That our own mother was a human you idiot." Dante looked over at him glaring. Not that he wanted to get too worked up but that comment. Those few words set something off in him that he tried to keep down. Vergil said nothing after Dante's little comment. Dante watched as Vergil's hand unclosed from around the hilt of his katana briefly.
"I find it hard to believe you would forget something like that. Seeing as she was I don't know our mom and everything. Tell me something Verg," Dante started to pull Rebellion off his back "do you really hate humanity that much? Or is this some sort of fucked up power high you're getting? Because if you don't have a reason for pulling this *** I'm gonna be pissed." Dante held Rebellion off to the side for a moment. He wanted to see how Vergil would react first before he did anything.
"I didn't forget what she was." Vergil placed his hand back onto Yamato's hilt.
"So can I ask you why you hate them so much?" Dante thought he would give it another whirl. Hoping that maybe his brother would cave a little and tell him.
"Reasons you wouldn't get." The colder twin stated before rushing towards Dante. Dante quirked a brow and whipped out his guns firing them off. Vergil stopped and spun Yamato around in front of him, bullets falling onto the stone surface. Before Dante could make another move Vergil knocked the bullets back into his direction. Dante ducked and rushed towards Vergil, sword aimed at his middle. The two clashed swords, the grinding metal sparking and scratching. The rain around them seemed to stay still. The droplets seemingly missing the battling brothers on purpose.
A loud clang and the two were at opposite ends from each other again. Dante watched Vergil as he looked for another opportunity to strike.
"You know you always were the one who took *** too seriously." Dante said with a small chuckle. Honestly it hadn't really been that long since everything that had happened anyway. They were what both nineteen years old? It must've been only seven or eight years since that day.
"As you were the one who always had his head in the clouds. You never looked at life for what it really is." Vergil stated, eyes narrowing. In many ways displeased as always with Dante's lack of professionalism in fighting.
"Yeah? So what are you going to tell me being a pessimist is the way to go?"
"No Dante, it's called being a realist."
Dante felt like laughing right then and there, and so he did. What, no who was Vergil trying to kid? He shook his head laughing and looked up at him staving off the chuckles.
"*** bro who are you trying to fool? What is it with all of this realist bullshit? You aren't a realist I actually know what that is. But I think I know exactly what you are."
"Oh, if you are the expert than by all means brother, do tell." Vergil was almost curious to hear this answer.
"For one you are a deluded and deranged ***. You think that doing all this," Dante spread his arms gesturing to the tower and all around them, "is going to get you anything? Hate to break it to you bro but power isn't just HANDED to someone you know? You gotta work for it like everybody else, even the old man had to start somewhere.. You're just acting like a spoiled kid who didn't get his share of the Christmas presents." Dante ended the last comment with a smirk. He could see a twinge in Vergil's eyes. Good, he hit a nerve and that is what he was hoping for. Without another word spoken Vergil ran at Dante with more fierceness behind his blows. Dante grinned and started to fight back with more aggressiveness behind his attacks too.
"What's that Vergil did I hit a nerve?" Dante inquired mockingly. Vergil felt his temper rise a little more. He grit his teeth and suddenly pulled a maneuver that caught Dante off guard. Vergil drove Yamato into the ground, and using the leverage he brought himself up and kicked Dante in the face. The younger twin's eyes got wide and he stumbled back getting over the stun. Vergil pulled Yamato out and ran at Dante slashing down. Dante barely dodged, the blade whirring past his head and getting buried into his shoulder. He suddenly sheathed Rebellion and pulled out one of his guns going to shoot him. Vergil moved and pulled Yamato out of his brother.
"God damn it Vergil." Dante seethed a little putting a hand over his wound.
"Pay more attention next time. Get too cocky and you can't focus." He sniped right back to him.
"Yeah? Could say the same for you ass wipe!" Dante spun Ebony and Ivory around and kept shooting. Vergil kept a distance blocking the bullets, only getting hit every so often. He appeared suddenly behind Dante and brought Yamato around swiftly. Dante spun on a heel and brought both his guns up blocking the blade. They both looked at each other, eyes narrowed. Who ever knew looking at them as kids that everything would come down to this? That Dante would be forced to raise his guns and sword to his own brother.
"It's not too late you know, you can stop this dumb game." Dante said just for no reason really. A part of him he figured just wanted things back to how they used to be. *** if he could just sit down and have a normal conversation that wasn't at the edge of a blade.
"It's not a game Dante. I am acquiring the power that rightfully belongs to me--"
"Us..." Dante said cutting him off some, " that power wasn't meant for just you Verg."
"Fair enough but, I cannot possibly see you being able to wield it properly."
"So what you think you're just as good? Don't kid yourself Vergil, all that power isn't meant for just one person. Especially one person who is only HALF devil. That is why it's suppose to be between the two of us." Dante stated sternly and brought his foot up getting Vergil in the gut. Vergil lost balance due to the force and found himself looking up at the sky now. Yamato skidded across the slick surface away from his reach. Dante did not make a reach for Rebellion but just stood there looking down at him.
"How's it feel to be at the receiving end for once?" Dante questioned with a smirk. Vergil made a move to get up but Dante brought his foot down on Vergil's chest.
"Nope you're not going anywhere." Dante pulled his foot away and was suddenly on top of Vergil. The blue clothed half devil found it harder to get up now that his brother's full weight was on him.
"So, what are you waiting for? Aren't you going to finish me brother? Or cannot you not stomach it?" Vergil inquired, not really taking Dante too seriously. He knew his brother, and how much more of emotional person he was.
"Hell no, I have something else in mind." Dante grinned and leaned down close to Vergil's face. The two eyes locked for a moment and Vergil then understood. That sent him into a sort of frenzy trying to get up. Dante brushed his lips over Vergil's cheek. Vergil froze for a moment and tried to get up more fiercely now. Dante grabbed his jaw a little and stared him down.
"Oh, what's this....a little scared?" Dante asked with a smirk.
"Dante what are....?" Vergil went to continue but Dante started to laugh. Suddenly the younger twin got up and dove for his guns, picking them up and aiming them for Vergil. Not completely taken off guard Vergil got to his sword and turned around, eyes narrowed.
"I'm not doing that right now, save it for later." Dante grinned a bit and started his barrage of bullets again. Vergil spun his sword and appeared at the far end from Dante. He crouched down and barely pulled his katana from it's blade. An odd noise filled the air and suddenly, a black sphere appeared around Dante. His eyes got wide when the images of blades slashed into him. He winced and dropped onto his knee looking up.
"Learned a few tricks since the last time." He commented and put his guns away pulling Rebellion out.
"Now you get the idea Dante. Put those guns away and fight me properly." Vergil said running at him, swords locking again.
"Doesn't matter what I fight with, as long as I kick your ass." Dante smirked pushing his sword against Vergil's.
"Then you fight without honor." Vergil retorted.
"You have room to talk?" Dante asked quirking a brow. Vergil pushing against Rebellion a little more harshly. The clouds above them started to let up, and the two of them stood there soaking wet. Vergil's hair mated against his face as was Dante's. The two of them not taking their eyes off of one another. Gentle moonbeams peeked out from behind the black clouds, washing the top of the tower with some ethereal light. Dante pulled Rebellion away and ducked down bringing his fist up to Vergil's chin. Vergil leaned back dodging the blow and brought Yamato down. Dante rolled out of the way and turned around keeping his face stern. The sound of footsteps stirred them both from their trance. Both brothers turned and looked towards the stairway seeing Arkram.
"Well look who it is." Dante said not lowering his weapon. Vergil kept the same stance eying Arkram.
"I wouldn't bother with this fight Vergil. It is obvious he isn't taking any of this seriously." The imposing man stated simply, looking at Dante for a second. Dante glanced over at Vergil, and saw the man's lips thin some. However, Vergil sheathed Yamato and looked at Dante.
"Until the next fight." Vergil said and turned to leave. Dante's mouth opened to speak, shocked. Why was Vergil listening to this man? None of this *** made any sense.
"Vergil, what the fuc--" Dante went to ran at him but, Vergil turned around and shoved Yamato through Dante's chest. Dante stopped in his tracks feeling his blood trickle down his stomach. Vergil looked at him with a coldness that seemed different from the first moment he approached him. The look in Vergil's eyes actually looked more like 'don't make me have to kill you'. Vergil pulled the sword out and reached out grabbing Dante's amulet. He pulled it off as Dante fell and started for the edge of the tower. Arkram was the first to jump off and Vergil stood on the edge. He glanced down at the amulet and looked back at Dante.
"Wise up brother, and take your role in life more seriously." He said before Dante heard sound of his feet leaving the stone. Wise up and take his role in life more seriously? What the *** kind of advice was Vergil trying to give him? He took his role in life pretty damn seriously. Dante knew his place in the world, it was Vergil who didn't seem to have a goddamn clue. Dante winced as he sat up trying to get to his feet.
"Vergil ....you fucker. Damn it next time I see your sorry face." Dante seethed reaching for Rebellion. This was it. This fight has become more personal than ever now. Vergil wanted to play these games with him? Dante would play them right back, ten fold.

My bro could learn a few things from you. He's RPing Vergil on another site (Kayle Coyote knows what I mean) and he can't play the guy to save his life.
