The game overall is good.
However, the fluidity of battle situations is greatly reduced, despite the addition of on-the-fly style switching. This is partly due to the 3 firearm/DA switch. You have to cycle through them...a problem Vergil never had. 2 to choose from kept things going quicker. You KNEW that you were switching to the Shotgun or you KNEW you were going to switch to Nevan....3 is a crowd. The syles themselves are lacking as well.
For example, Trickster has only ONE dash move...not horrible...Even worse is Gunslinger...which has lost its importance due to the Charge shot being a constantly available ability. Royal guard is an improvement...but it sucked in DMC3, so ANY change is better. Swordmaster, however is the worst. Maybe its the lack of weapons...but everything is switched around. Dance Macabre (if that's what its called in this) is Lock-on+forward and Style button instead of LO+back+style. There is no sword throw...fine...but Drive is a little slow. Same goes for Gilgamesh. you can ONLY uppercut with swordmaster...and you have to hold it to do any "rising dragon" esque move.
Dante DOES have some great stuff...and I DON'T have all his moves...But if it keeps going the way it is, and NO additional weapons coem up....I'm going to have to say Dante is inferior to his DMC3 form.
This game is shelling out disappointment like the keebler elves shell out goodies.
Two extra costumes that I am aware of. 3 Devil Arms for Dante (Yamato doesn't count) and hardly any unlockables ...unless someone knows something I don't
Firearms are OK since Pandora satisfies the weirdo who uses more than just Coyote+ Ebony and Ivory. And Devil trigger is pretty satisfying...though I like to use Stinger WITHOUT losing tons of my DT gauge.
That's just a small sample of my opinion
