    Oh EM GEE

    This game was awesome...

but it had a few problems....

The gameplay seemed less fluid that DMC3 and the story had PLENTY of plot holes...

lets just say if you're waiting to find out Nero's identity, and his relationship with Dante...you'll have to wait til the next game

    No joke

I'd say the only reason this game is superior to DMC3 is because its next gen...Don't get me wrong, I loved DMC3. But the only reason why I love this more and not equally (or slightly less) than DMC3 is beause of it being next gen

I loved the shakespeare scene BTW

Yeah, but it doesn't have the same moves as in DMC3.  In fact it has none of the same moves.  Instead, it's just the name of the style given to how Dante uses Yamato.  As this is DMC4, a game in which capcom decided to remove things for no reason, the sword now has 3 attacks instead of 5.

Re: [ IMPORTANT ] Devil May Cry 4: Information HQ (Read it!)

Omg, how stupid can capcom be? Why can't they just recycle the damn moves, or add new instead of removing old and add even less?

    I give up

Yeah man, it is frustrating.  It now has the normal combo, and aerial rave, and it has a new move which kind of replaced judgement cut, which fills the screen with blue laser type things, which can be done near or far.  The uppercut, rapid slash and judgement cut are gone, and he doesn't have any of the teleports.  I don't know why they call it "Dark Slayer", it makes no sense.  Dark Slayer is the teleports, the moves with Yamato are just the moves with Yamato, they are not actually connected to Dark Slayer.

The only good thing about Dark slayer is that it allows you to use Yamato in tandem with Rebellion or whatever weapon you choose.

But they should have given it the regular moves instead of those three. I like the new judgement cut though

It should have just been another weapon which you pick at the start of the mission.

I think the reason they didn't want to give dark slayer all of the moves it had in DMC 3 SE is because it was a lot like trickster and since Dante already has trickster what is the point of giving it the same things. But yea they should have made yamato another weapon that you use and switch between like chrysander said instead of only being able to use it in the style.

ok i'm just about to start with dante and the game hasn't even come close to my expectations.... :/ it's good but i suspected it to be much better, story is kinda chaotic, having to collect all orbs that are set in a mission sucks ASS.... you're spending more time walking around looking for breakable objects than focussing on the mission...

another thing, am i the only who thinks some secret missions are way to hard/practically impossible?

Yea the story is crazy and when you beat the game you will understand what gilver meant about to many plot holes you could also understand it right now and I think everyone expected it to be better and Dante had to little screen time.

There are some secret missions that are a little hard you might think there impossible but they aren't really I used a guide for some of them because I didn't know how to do some of them like secret mission 3 were you have to get your style up without attacking the monsters here is the link if anyone wants to use it.

Re: [ IMPORTANT ] Devil May Cry 4: Information HQ (Read it!)

    The game overall is good.

However, the fluidity of battle situations is greatly reduced, despite the addition of on-the-fly style switching. This is partly due to the 3 firearm/DA switch. You have to cycle through them...a problem Vergil never had. 2 to choose from kept things going quicker. You KNEW that you were switching to the Shotgun or you KNEW you were going to switch to Nevan....3 is a crowd. The syles themselves are lacking as well.

For example, Trickster has only ONE dash move...not horrible...Even worse is Gunslinger...which has lost its importance due to the Charge shot being a constantly available ability. Royal guard is an improvement...but it sucked in DMC3, so ANY change is better. Swordmaster, however is the worst. Maybe its the lack of weapons...but everything is switched around. Dance Macabre (if that's what its called in this) is Lock-on+forward and Style button instead of LO+back+style. There is no sword throw...fine...but Drive is a little slow. Same goes for Gilgamesh. you can ONLY uppercut with swordmaster...and you have to hold it to do any "rising dragon" esque move.

Dante DOES have some great stuff...and I DON'T have all his moves...But if it keeps going the way it is, and NO additional weapons coem up....I'm going to have to say Dante is inferior to his DMC3 form.

This game is shelling out disappointment like the keebler elves shell out goodies.

Two extra costumes that I am aware of. 3 Devil Arms for Dante (Yamato doesn't count) and hardly any unlockables ...unless someone knows something I don't

Firearms are OK since Pandora satisfies the weirdo who uses more than just Coyote+ Ebony and Ivory. And Devil trigger is pretty satisfying...though I like to use Stinger WITHOUT losing tons of my DT gauge.

That's just a small sample of my opinion

hahaha, my turn. my main problems with this game are: plot holes/unanswered questions, (ie when where and how did nero get the db) Nero is SLOW, Dante got nurfed, still dunno anything about where vergil is, lady got no screen time, 3 weapon switching, almost no extra content, and you cant opt to play as either character... its set... but it is still good and fun

Re: [ IMPORTANT ] Devil May Cry 4: Information HQ (Read it!)

I think it says somewhere in the manual that nero and a female friend (i'm guessing kyrie) got attacked in the woods and his arm was injured and red queen was destroyed. Have to say tho, they impressed me by not making the same mistakes as DMC3SE- you don't just repeat nero's missions as dante. And gameplay may not be as great as 3, but its not another dmc2, so we can all be thankful for that!

Has anyone confirmed or denied the dante/nero relationship spoiler (couple pages back)?
