Ok, yes, I'm a new member to this site. Yes, I really am planning a DMC fanfilm.  Yes I am a really big fan of all 3 (yes that includes DMC2) games. 

Ok, hopefully thats the first few questions people will ask, answered straight away. I'm still looking to find 2 more cast members, there's a script nearing completion.  I also have a professional creature/SFX makeup artist (who is a personal friend) that has worked on Harry Potter and DaVinci code.  Need lots of ideas though.  I already have an original storyline locked down, but you guys are the fans too, so what would you like to see in a DMC movie?  Anyone wants more details, I'll more than happily give you a link to my blog. Hope thats not too much info.  I know there's a lot to live up to, but if fans cant get it right, who can? lol

If this is a DMC film you should start off the begining with something about Sparda... what about him, I don't know. You should try PMing some of the major guys here, like those who post alot, and see what they think.

Well I'm basing the storyline between DMC1 and DMC2 at the mo, however it links back to DMC3 heavily, if that makes sense.  I've done my best to tie it into the storylines and I'm actually proud of the story we've come up with. I'm more interested in what specifics from the games people would like to see.  Such as trademark moves etc. :o)

Have you seen the live-action DMC3 commercial and live-action stunt test?

The stunttest was pretty awesome, and it proved that it is possible for a living human to perform moves like Stinger, Million Slash, Aerial Rave, High Time, Rainstorm, and Helmbreaker.

I have seen them yes.  Altho that was all motion capture which is easier to do because you can edit out things like wires etc.  With live camera action its a lot harder unless you can use green screen etc.  I'm hoping to get a lof of moves in there tho, like Singer, Million Stab, Dance Macarbe etc, just prob not things like Rainstorm which would require a lot of wire work! hehe

Hey, it's gonna be a british Devil May Cry film! Cool! British people are awesome.

I found an Irish DMC fanfilm online a bit ago: it contained Dante beating up a priest and then Vergil killing Dante with a plastic kitana, the actors had made no effort to look like the characters, no one knew how to swordfight and the setting was someone's highschool, but it was still fun to see. Yours is already a step up from that, given you have a makeup artist. I look forward greatly to seeing WHITE HAIR!

What kind of backround does your cast have? Has anyone had martial arts/ sword training? Where were you thinking of filming: indoors or outdoors? What are you going to do about props? How long is the film going to be?

lol yes I'm English, as will be the rest of the cast, but dont worry, we wont be using our accents.  I'm taking the part of Vergil and I'm fairly confident I can do his voice well. I've got some sword and martial arts training but not tonnes.  Should be enough to get me by ok tho hehe.  I havent cast Lady (Yes she's making a re-appearance) or the all important Dante yet (and Yes I know they will need to look similar to me for that too!).  The script is in its first draft and looking good, as are some of the props and makeup.  There will be the use of 'devil trigger' but we decided to go more with the look from DMC2 for that which gives us a little more artistic license.

 

Oh, and as for white hair, I'm 99% certain I'll be bleaching my hair and then turning it completely white....so yes, it'll look the business. :o)

lol cheers.  I'm really buzzed about making it.  I'm 25 so my cast will be mostly mates etc so we'll all be around the right age for the DMC characters.  I've got a replica of 'Rebellion' being imported from the States son and have already ordered a katana that is VERY similar to 'Yamato'.  My prop friend is making Ebony and Ivory for me.  Promise as soon as I have more production photo's I'll upload them.  with all the special effects that will be needed its going to take a while to make the film, so hang in there, it will happen eventually, just gotta be patient. I just hope it lives up to the fans expectations because thats the whole reason we're making it.

Ya know, I remember reading on a message board that "at least they didn't give Vergil an english accent." Cuz American movies and games love casting brits as the smooth evil guy, even if it doesn't make sense he'd have an accent while Dante doesn't. I'm sure it won't be an issue though: you say you won't be using the accent and I believe you.

Dan Southworth played Vergil in DMC3: you should try looking him up, he deserves massive kudos for being so awesome.

Do you have blue eyes? How are you going to get Vergil's trademark blue coat?

Worst comes to worst you can just make a vergil movie. That's not impossible...

Is there any way for interested parties to see the script?.... I'll understand if the answer is no, I'm just curious.

I'd rather keep the script under wraps for the moment.  I'm not even giving out info on all the characters and how much of a part they'll play yet.  As for the accent, it would just sound weird if we all did it with our normal accents, so that was a no-brainer.  However one of the characters in the film will be English (But no character you'll be familiar with).  Couldn't help it, had to give my counrty some credit at least hehe.

How about the coat? Vergil had a pretty distinctive coat in DMC3: you gonna duplicate it?

Well, if you don't find a Dante or Lady, a Vergil-centric fan film isn't the worst thing that could happen. If you know a tall bald guy then you have an Arkham. And madness insues!
