i understand your point and I agree, women are much sexier when they leave somethig to the imagination. Besides, what guy wouldn't naturally be turned on by a woman who could kick the *** out of them:)

Be careful with the Post button, teztiment.

It seems that I'm one of the very few guys on this forum who don't play videogames in order to see half-naked women. That's kinda sad.

    Re: DMC 4 Lady's Outfit

It's the same kind of crap through TV, movies, wrestling etc.  Women are often put into stuff as eye candy, rather than just as regular characters with something to do or say.  WWE divas are terrible, women wrestlers are generally just 'glamour' models rather than actual fighters.  The women wrestlers who can actually fight get a back seat unless they're prepared to strip off to their underwear.  In games it's the same kind of thing, designers like to make flirtatious dominatrixes, or pathetic giggly cheerleaders etc.  Lady in DMC3 was a good character (although her physical design was still unnecessarily sexualized) who had her own serious mission, story and motivation.  I like Danielle and Ana Lucia in the TV series Lost, as they are interesting characters in their own right, and their sexuality doesn't really matter to who they are.  They could equally be male characters.  Gender shouldn't be such a big deal, and too many stereotypes are depicted, rather than just designing good and interesting characters.

Exactly, Lady's new look already has me wondering wether or not she'll play on that and leave her old personality behind, I really hope not. I'm not whining or anything but it kinda seems the Dmc4 girls are really sexualized in their images this time around? That Gloria chick looks like she works at a strip club haha.

...in DMC3: you can unlock a shirtles Dante... and his Default outfit reveeled more skin then Lady's XP....so there!. lol.

Yes but that suits Dante's character.  He's the type of guy who thinks he is hot and is happy to go shirtless.  It doesn't suit Mary in my opinion, similarly, I don't think it would suit Arkham to walk around shirtless, because he's not that kind of person.  I think that Mary's original outfit in DMC3 was meant to be sexy as well, and that in itself was unnecessary. However, the new outfit is even worse.  I agree that all the girls in DMC4 are over-sexualized, perhaps with the exception of kyrie who is pretty, but at least doesn't have her boobs hanging out.

thatt's the thing about it: until DMC3, Dante didn't have that "i'm so sexy, lets  walk shirtless" personality. that game is set ten years from the events of DMC, and Dante's attitude always change. dmc 4 is also set ten years from DMC, and so, Lady's personality can also change, even if that's only in the way she dresses. my point is, that Dante's outfit didn't suit him in any of the games besided dmc3, coz it wasn't like his character in all other games. why can't the same thing go for lady?

    Re: DMC 4 Lady's Outfit

Yeah they could change Lady's character.  I don't think there is a need to do that, her character was fine in DMC3.  If they turn her into a slutty bimbo in DMC4, I will be disappointed.  It would suit her costume if she is a bimbo, but I don't like any of that for her.  I liked Dante's character in DMC3, I thought it was fine, and the outfit worked well with it.

I don't find anything wrong with Gloria except that really creepy hair cut. I don't understand why you see supermodel girls from Russia and around there have taht really short hair, its not hot at all.

Well me neither, That's what I get magazines for... (that was a joke LADIES! I can get the real thing...). But I don't see what's wrong with playing a game and appreciating what eye candy there is. (funny how you have a sig showing the new lady  :/ oh well, I have a haruhi sig and already I'm being labeled as a pervert lolz. )

I'm not sure how to reply to your sexist remarks... and again, i've seen WAY more girls talking about Dante them men talking about lady on this forum. That's just how it is, woman are just, if not more, perverted than men are. if it wasn't that way, man would have died out a loooonnnngg time ago. and ....OHH! I could just go on forever...

    Agreed.

I think people feel a need to sex up characters to get you to buy there merchandise.  Attractive characters have there place in stories, but it's when you have every girl looking like a swim suite model/whore that you defeat the purpose of female rolls.

I mean look at the alien series. Ripley wasn't a seriously attractive character in terms of looks. but she had that indestructible will power that keep you on the edge of your seat while she feverishly looked for Nute.

     But...

I still don't see how lady looking like a whore in DMC4 surprised any of you. the entire series is full of bimbos. and adding on to that, lady discovered that her dad killed her mom all along and not some random demon, so I'd imagine she'd be a little happier knowing that she avenged her mom's death and she'd also be less "demon killer" ish to due to the fact that the murderer washer father and not some crazed demon. also, she's older, and what's that old saying about wine and woman?

    Re: DMC 4 Lady's Outfit

I guess I worded my last post wrong, I didn't mean to sound sexist, I just meant that alot of guy's that I've come across never stop going on about the girls in games like DOA or Lara Croft, It's not even for their personality's (which there seems to be little of), but strictly for their appearance. Lady's character seemed to be very realistic in emotion and feeling for a dmc character which is why I like her, she's beleivable (minus her insanely impossible acrobatic skills). Lady is the most realistic character IMO out of Trish and Lucia and she seems to be a very developed one too. Thats why it makes me angry that the DMC4 creators find the need to pull most people's attention away from her as a person and onto her chest and wedgie/camel toe short shorts. I really think it's a bad decision appearance wise and makes her look like street trash, it just doesn't suit her character, unless they did a complete overhaul of her personailty too. In that case it just wouldn't be Lady anymore imo.

Well, I didn't mean to sound too serious with my comment. And there is nothing wrong in appreciating eye candy. I just think that it is pointless and stupid to have characters who only seem to serve one purpose which is to offer that eye candy, like Gloria for example. And I also think that Lady's new style doesn't fit her at all. She simply can't be taken seriously in that outfit.

I won't repeat what I said in my last post, so I'll just agree that lady's new look isn't right. but from what i've seen, it's not realy "off the mark" as far as DMC girls go.

(Pro tip: use smilys to nerf seriousness in posts Surprise)

yea, they totally killed lady. that was my point all along and you nailed it. out with the old and in with the new. or something :/
