I have been hearing alot of bad comments over the internet about DMC2
i've made this post so people can express what they like and dislike about the game
an overall opinion would be nice.
i for one respect the game as a part of the DMC series, infact it was the first game i played and it's responsible for getting me into the series.
also there are only two DMC2 topics and really there needs to be more ^^

There is more topics, they are just hidden due to inactivity. You can bring them back up again from under the More Options button.

I think DMC2 is a good game, not great, because it's crap compared to the other DMC games, but still enjoyable.

 

The Good IMO:

Action. It's entertaining even though a little too simplistic.

Some of the music tracks.

The industrial environments. I think they were a nice touch and fitted well into DMC.

Some of the enemy designs.

 

The Bad IMO:

Repetitive battles and environments.

The complete lack of story and dialogue. 

Dante. Where did his personality go?

Lucia. I never liked her character.

Arius. The worst main bad guy ever.

Elemental Hearts. They had no real elemental powers at all.

Only swords as melee weapons.

 

I give DMC2 a fair 7 out of 10.

The greatest thing, in my opinion, about DMC 2, was Dante's outfits, the DT, that awesome hair...and...and well...that's it.

He looked pretty good, pretty dark and wild, but thats it

The Bourne Ultimatum = The Boring Old Tomato

i liked some of the cutscenes like the despare embodied one. i prefered the dmc1 outfit though. the swords looked cool, but they didn't do much. despiration DT was a good add on and i liked the trickster dodge and the new action add ons. playing as lucia had its own benefits as well. Aurius was a bit ... sashe' the story wasn't the best. some of the enemies had cool concepts that i would have liked to see in later games. like the infest demons. the boss you sword fight with was fun as well. the tower was a good addition even if it did make the game easier.

i liked the addition of wall running and twosome-time

DDT was cool

i also preferred dmc1 costume to dmc2, but not bad

the heart system was interesting to try, but not as good the various weapons with their own elements

story was lack-luster

I think DMC2 was a very disappointing sequel to the first, and that the enemies were a lot easier, even on DMD. I did enjoy playing it though

Overall this was an ok game. Not good but not bad. What I like about this game was Dante's outfit his guns and his DT. I loved the machine guns. those were tight. Also the DT looked so cool.

Death comes swiftly to those who fear

I felt it was an ok game but it got repetative fast and i could only play 3 or 4 missons before i got bored and had to stop

I like the boss battles or some of them, i didnt like lucia that much she was to lame. and the main bad guy aurius wasnt very good as a bad guy either but i did like the swords but wish there were more mele weapons or different kinds.

overall i say 7/10

DMC2 was kind of dissapointing compared to all the other Devil may cry games in my opinion

Weapons compared to other DMCs: Poor

Combos compared to other DMCs: Poor

Gameplay compared to other DMCs: Acceptable, yet poor

Enemies: So poor they're priceless.

Can you guess my opinion?

Remake it... and then maybe we'll see the game in a different light... in a couple of years... 

Let dead things stay dead, DMC 2's redemption was DMC 3.
