ok, I know I'm gonna sound noob, but I cannot beat this boss on Normal mode, I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what, but I let it eat me to start, than easily destroy the phantom boss to take a good deal of its health, than I can get it down to about halfway before my hand starts to cramp up from shooting like crazy or it's gay ice blast thing has some how killed me, anyone got any advice? I'm a pro at DMC, hell I just beat DMC4 on Son of Sparda mode and DMC2 on all modes and DMC3 on all modes with Vergil, maybe the lack of consistant combos and quick gameplay is throwing me off, since I've been spending most my time on DMC3 and 4..anybody got some help?

ok, you should be really ready for this to begin with, but here's my advice. you can start that way if you feel like it, it doesn't matter all that much. don't stand still, keep moving because it has like this mechine gun attack thing when it sits idle. watch that part carefully because when it switches from mechine gun to ground lasers is the sign for the ice beam. simply jump on top if the nightmare when you see this and hack away at its core. when you are behind it, and its core comes out the back, this is the symbol for the bird attack. take E&I and shoot like theres no tomarrow because when you hit those birds, they fly back and hit the core for you. when you are on top of it, and the boomerang thing comes out, take a loss on it. stop attacking the core and start dodging because the boomerang will come very fast from off screen if you're still on top of the nightmare. when you are at it's side, it will most likely use the spear attack. just dodge them and hit the core. i think i've covered everything.

i would suggest alastor for air hike and then when you get into attacking position, switch to ifrit for damage (at least when you have DT)

wooh..I beat him ^.^ took me my vital star and one devil star but I got him, with low orange health too..I used Alastor the whole time, jumping in the air and than doing air raid really brings him down, pretty much did that the whole time while unloading on it when I could and some fancy dodging, thanks for your help though, it really came in handy.

yeah. The second and the third ones suck. I sugest that you jump into the middle of it when the fight begins and let it suck you down. You'll be transported to a different dimention and have to kill a bunch of floaty skull guys, and then fight either the giant spider, Nero Angelo, or the Gryphon.

I forget the order, but I think that might be it. Other then that, just go with Zeno's strategy. Like you saw, it works.

you should use alstor the grenade laucher then turn on the switch to attack him them once the orb is gone attack the swith again then use a holly water on him then heal yourself and let him eat you kill phantom then get out turn the swich on and finish him.

no, save all of your holy waters. reason being, i had to use like 20 of them to get passed the last nelo angelo fight on dmd mode. he can kill you with one combo if you're not careful and sometimes wont stop using the summon swords attacks making him incredibly hard to beat. just save your getting sucked down part until the end of the battle when he starts using that orb of endless lasers attack cause that one will sap your health like no other.

if u have trouble with nightmare on 16, the you're definetly going to have fun with him on the other missions
