    Re: Who should play Dante?

Yeah I agree. I want someone who already knows Dante and will give him the big-screen treatment he deserves.

A DMC movie would be awesome if someone cared to make it properly. I really really hope we get a director like that...

If they gave the Versus guy the movie, that would be awesome: his action director did DMC3's cutscenes...

    Dante Sparda:
I say it would be best if the movie was CGI just like the game. He'd look the best like that. Also, the old voice actors can come in. Looks won't count.

Thank God someone else thinks like me.  I hope it will be a CG.   That would make everyone happy don't you think?   Dante would look and sound the same and we could focus more on the story instead of what the actor looked like.  Also there wouldn't be cheap graphics and the action scenes would be good.  If the movie isn't done right it will ruin the good DMC story.

    Re: Who should play Dante?

CG has lots of problems of it's own: Yes blowing things up is easy but other things; like shirt-grabs, hair physics and making things look grubby and big are very, very difficult. In the sets each and every item has to be designed, modeled, proabably redesigned, mapped, rendered, placed, and lit. It takes lots of money and time to make a good CG movie ("The Incredibles" was in production for two years and went overbudget frequently).

Yes you could get good results with CG but I'm worried the result would be more like an extended cutscene then the polished peice of cinema we'd all like to see.

We're focusing on what the actor looks like cuz we really don't have much else to go on: no actors have ever played Dante on camera before. Well, one of them has: Reuben Langdon's live-action DMC3 test I thought was testiment he could do it. He looks enough like the character and dang has he got the physicality DOWN.

But this isn't really about that. I'm terrified they'll turn Dante into a Dark Brooding type like Christian Bale's Batman, or a one-line dropping Blade/ Shaft clone (minus the blackness). I want Dante to keep his distinctive personality, is all.

    Re: Who should play Dante?

Well, if there is a movie then the director will have to decide, is all. We fans don't know much about making movies.

    Re: Who should play Dante?

I think this guy is not the perfect person for dante's caracter. The one i suggest is TOM CRUISE.Because if you have seen IM:2 you'll realise that he is the one. I hope he would play as dante in the movie. "DMC 4 LIFE"

    Re: Who should play Dante?

Nah, people are sick of cruise, it's all A list bull. Get somebody who's suited to the role not a midget.
The guy who played dante in that trailer looks perfect. they should go with him.

need to add more moves in the 2nd sig..dante almost seems better..

    Re: Who should play Dante?

neh~~ Tom Cruise is way too old for Dante.. I rather if they made cg movie like FF7:AC... besides, capcom cgi motion skill is not bad either.. they won several awards for Onimusha and Resident evil rite..?
but for real life action I choose Ashton Kutcher.. *gahhh!!! don't kill meee!!! XD*

same here.  the person who does dantes voice in the game should be him.  its only right cause who else would know the character better than that guy right???

    Re: Who should play Dante?

Hehehe, but can you see Vin putting on purple ruffles and dancing around? Hehehe...

Ashton Kutcher...he's a better actor then people give him credit for, and he always insists on doing his own stunts. He's not the worst choice, but I'd still rather see the part go to someone who has experience with the character and loves DMC as much as the rest of us do...

CG or otherwise, unless the director loves the source material the movie will be no good. That's how it goes...
