Hi. I know that this sounds like another pointless VS topic, so sorry if it has been posted before. The DMC 3 versions of Dante a Vergil were without a doubt the weakest. But just who was stronger? Dante got beat in the first round, the second was about even, and the third, well Dante won. Despite Dante winning, I think that Vergil was a bit stronger. Neither brother was at their peak in the last fight, but Vergil did take more damage than Dante did before hand. Vergil was panting at the end, and it seemed like Dante was not tired at all. He may have been bluffing though when he said "Is that all you've got?"

As for DMC1 Dante vs Nelo Angelo, I have no clue since I just got the game the other day and am fighting Nelo for the first time in level 4.

On a side note, what is the better sword Rebellion, Alastor, Force Edge, or the Yamato?

Yeah their physical state mattered, but you also have to take into account their mental state. 

Dante is fighting to protect all of mankind from demons, not to mention; no mater what, his soul drives him to never give up. Dante also strives to keep his humanity, something Vergil is willing to sacrfice.

Vergil fights for his own selfish gain, yes he's willing to do whatever it takes to get what he wants, but Vergil also is willing to give up his humanity.

I think Vergil in the from of Nelo Angelo is stronger...but he can be strong in his normal form though...and Yamato being the better sword

- I think that DMC 3 Dante gets a bit stronger than Vergil till the end of the game. But when they fought the first time, Dante was weaker in my opinion.

- DMC 1 Dante... I don't want to spoil the game for you, so I'll shut up.

- Hmmm... they are all good swords... it depends... I for one prefer Rebellion.

Vergil didne have both of the amulets like Dante and Arkham!

 

In DMC 1 what happened to Rebellion, Dante didn't know of Force Edge's true power so why didn't he just take Rebellion into the fight instead of risking it with Force Edge. So why did Rebellion make a return in DMC 2, in which game Force Edge wasn't there. It's like James bond and women, only cooler!

I can see dante taking that risk with force edge because it was his fathers sword, which sparda took down mundus with before.

Nelo Angelo doesn't weild Sparda, the sword he has is Yamato transformed, I'm just basing this from Corrupt Vergil, and since Yamato somewhat merges with Vergil and transforms too it makes sense. Dante has Sparda, now Force Edge in DMC3 and 1. The reason he has Force Edge in DMC1 and not Rebellion is because Force Edge is stronger. It transforms back to Sparda and, then Dante gives it to Trish, and he goes back to Rebellion.

no doubt yamato is the best on my book. vergil is so fast im practicaly untouchable when i play with him. dante did have his trickster style but it just wasnt as good as vergils darkslayer. also, the zanbato that nelo angelo has is also a really good sword. it brings back old memories from the original dmc.

Well, it all depends, Vergil won the very first fight in DMC3, then the second fight, they didn't get to finish, the third fight, Dante won, then if Nelo fought him in DMC3, Dante would've lost, but he didn't 'cuz they fought in part 1, but he got stronger by the time it reached part 1. So it depends which point in time you mean.
