Re: Have a question about DMC3? Ask here please :)

The best way to use the artemis is the multi-lock with the gunslinger style

Hold the style button down, to load the artemis, after some time, you'll see the screen gets white for a short time.

That means the artemis is loaded. Now you can shoot the enemy with several laser-beams.

While the gun is loading, you can attack as you want.

The artemis has also a normal shot, but it kinda sucks.

Re: Have a question about DMC3? Ask here please :)

I have a question on mission 15 on DMC3. It has been a while since I played DMC3 and I just cannot remember where to go throughout the level. I have all the fragments I need to activate the elevator and I end up on the forbidden land where the underwater elevator is. I go down there and there is nothing. Go back up and go behind the elevator and into the cave behind the waterfall. Go into the area where I defeated Nevan-nothing. I go backwards in the level but I cannot quite find anything to help my way out, someone help? Where have I gon wrong?

Re: Have a question about DMC3? Ask here please :)

Go up the underwater elevator right into a hole in the wall.

    Just run straight forward!

    EDIT: Sry!

You can get lost easily in this mission, so read  |
carefully walkthrough for this one. As soon as you start, head towards
the colored door. Deal with the Fallens that appear. You have to first
cut their wings then attack on their bellies. After you've dealt with
them, enter the colored door and kill the Arachnes in the next room.
Take the unsealed door on the other side, follow the corridor to the
Devil sprout Lift. You need three Orihalcon's to revive the lift. But
first you need to revive the tower itself. Go into the red door on
the side of the lift. After proceeding a little forward, you'll see
a Red Orb Pedestal above the door. To reach it, stand a little forward
from the door and kick jump one of the walls on either side. After
taking orbs from the crystal, jump down and turn on the rune clock at
the bottom of the stairs. The tower will rumble, i.e. it will revive
for certain mechanisms. The trickier part starts here.
Go back to the door you came from, pass the Devil sprout lift, enter
the room in which you fought Arachnes before. You'll see a blue rune
clock has now appeared there, turn it one ONCE, kill the Arachnes and
enter the door at the other side. The tower has shown its beautiful
complexity so you are now on gears of madness. They are worse then
before as they are rotating. Drop down the brown door at the bottom,
enter it, take the Orihalcon fragment at the end of the corridor,
eventually passing the big cutters. Get back to the gears of madness,
turn the blue rune clock on one of the bottom gears ONCE, get back
above and enter the door at the top. One again the tower has rotated
and you're in the Rounded Pathway. Avoid those blades spinning on the
ground and enter the door at the other side. Take the second Orihalcon
fragment on the altar in the room and make your way back by killing
the Arachnes. Once you're out of the room, turn on the blue rune clock
in the Rounded Pathway. Then sprint back and enter the door which you
came from. You'll now be in Top Subterria Lock (this tower's
complicated mechanism is definitely to protect it from terrorists). Use
the divinity statue if you need, collect the red orbs in the far right
side of the area and enter the colored door in the middle of the area.
Avoid the blades, take the Orihalcon fragment and the green orb in the
corridor, get back out of the room. And turn the rune clock in the
middle of the place (near the divinity statue) once. Enter the colored
door, go down the spiral corridor and drop down the Underground Arena
to find a blue orb fragment. To get back on the way, jump on a rocky
platform in the Underground Arena which'll take you back upwards. Then
turn the rune clock near the Divinity Statue in Top Subterria Lock and
enter the colored door again which'll take you to Provisions Storeroom
Now you're fine with three fragments. If you turned the rune clock near
the divinity statue twice, you'll be in the Provisions Storeroom which
leads to the Devil sprout lift. Use the three Orihalcon fragments on
    |the lift, ride it upwards and the mission will end with a cut scene.

    Hope it helped !

Re: Have a question about DMC3? Ask here please :)

Mission 15 is where you have light the Sanskrit emblems to rotate the tower and switch the doors, right? Here's the short answer to your question:

-at the last door/Sanskrit thinghie (it's the third and located in the place with waterfalls where you found the Spiral) you have to light it twice to get the right door, which is the door that switches rooms.

Re: Have a question about DMC3? Ask here please :)

    Guard Cancelling.

Guard cancelling basically put is just tapping the Guard button, to reduce the Lag, and this can speed up how quickly Dante goes on offense. Well why tap? Basically because it puts Dante back in his normal stance more quickly, although you have to be a Fast clicker or you have to time it right. In order to Get Dante to sucessfully block the attack and go straight back to offense.

    Switch Cancelling.

Nearly all the Guns have a time Lag between each shot. To my knowledge the only one that doesn't is Ebony and Ivory. Yes even the shotgun has a time Lag, even when they are up to max Level. So, this is how to avoid the time lag, you can cancel it one of two ways. The first would be by Jumping straight after you have fired the weapon, although this will not work as well, it is still effective. The bad thing about this is that if you are using a weapon such as Spiral or Kilina Ann, then they can't fire while being airbourne. But others such as the Shotgun or Artemis can, so you would be fine on those. I personally don't use this technique that much, I prefer to use the second choice as it offers more control, and you can fire faster, and after all that is what it is all about.

Now the second choice is to press L2 twice, in order to switch your Guns back to the one you were using. Now yes this takes the time lag off, but you have to be fast pressing to make up for the time lag. Otherwise you may as well wait for the Gun to reload. This is the one I prefer using as it offers more control, and you remain on the floor with it. And if you can press it fast enough you can build up a good style meter. Now there is another way to cancel the time lag, but this one is not as useful. The other way to do so, is to perform a Devil arm melee attack, this cancels it, but then you have the time lag of that attack. If you are going to use this way, I recommend using Cerberus as it is fast paced.

I always recommend having Ebony and Ivory in your Gun inventory, because if you are using the Switch Cancel by pressing L2 to get rid of the Lag, you can keep on firing this Gun for the Ultimate Projectile onslaught. This could result in a load of Stylish points added at the end of the level, just by knowing this simple cancellation of Guns. Great isn't it?

And probably the one you have been hearing about..

    Jump Cancelling.

Basically if you perform an aerial attack, with either Vergil or Dante, and you are nearby an enemy, you can jump off them by pressing X, and this also restarts your Jump, which means you can do the attack again. Using this, you can get some serious style points, and keep enemies in the air for a decent amount of time.

Basic examples of this, is Vergil's Aerial Rave, if you hit an enemy up into the air, using an upward slash, and then jump and start to attack, you can use this technique to do multiple attacks in the air. Another Example, is Cerberus' Revolver attack, this is fast paced just like aerial rave, so you have to be quick to press X then triangle, and repeat.

Easier examples of this are Starfall, or Killler Bee, when you it then you immediately press X and then you rebound back up in the air to do another Killer Bee, or Starfall (depending on which character you are using). Using the Jump cancelling technique can be useful, but has to be learnt in order to do it to its full potential.

If you need extra advice on this one, you can go to Broly2012's Jump Cancelling tutorial.

    Hope I helped. :)))

Re: Have a question about DMC3? Ask here please :)

oh, ok, cause i watched this video of this guy playing (using Cerberus & Rebellion) and when he used the air attack for Cerberus, he would use the attack about 4 or 5 times in a row.

so is that what he's doing? that jump cancelling thing?

Re: Have a question about DMC3? Ask here please :)

He explains it clearly in his video. All he does is use the Jump button to jump on the enemy. Jumping on the enemy is like jumping from the ground so he can do the move which requires jumping more than once...

Re: can someone help me ? :(

A program? Not that I know of. The game's controls try to simulate the PS controller, so you have to use the keyboard or a gamepad. Having a hand on the mouse would prove useless since there are so many other buttons to press. You cannot user the mouse for orientation either, you have to use directional arrows/keys to move Dante, but the camera cannot be rotated with the keyboard/mouse.
