    Thanks!

But I still can't get it. The left analog stick is the movement button right?
    I used Lock-On + move back + attack(sword) still can't.

Re: Have a question about DMC3? Ask here please :)

Umm...if you're using a keyboard it's a bit tricky since you have 4 key for directions. When you want to press back it should be Dante's back, not the key down. Sometimes you need to mpress two key at once to get exactly the back direction of Dante. And to make things worse, your keyboard may not be able to see all those keys pressed at once(2 directions, 1 lock on and 1 sword) .... not really sure about this though, but I think it happened to me when I switched keyboards. Buy a gamepad would be the solution, the gameplay is much better with it. Also note that the PC version looks worse than the console version, I liked the console version more to be honest.

I could be getting overboard with the above explanations, maybe you did perform a high time but didn't get into air. If Dante swings his sword upwards it means you performed it . To follow the enemy into air (getting in the air would mean you performed a rising hightime.....I think) you need to hold the 'sword button' pressed a little longer.
Then Dante will rise and you could follow up with a helmet breaker or use the swordmaster style and slash at the enemy in the air (with the style button).

Whoa. 2 directions together? Meaning Dante's back, not mine? Thanks. That can be real tricky.

You are suggesting a game pad.... alright.

Re: Have a question about DMC3? Ask here please :)

So far, I only got to see those moves I wanted in DMC3 SE Yellow Easy Automatic Mode.

But can't do it in any other mode. Lock-On + Movement + Attack just doesn't work for me. I have a lvl 2 stinger. Don't see it. Don't even see the million stabs. Definitely no High Times.

I suppose this is a PC version problem only.

For the other consoles, are there Gold and Yellow modes?

Re: Have a question about DMC3? Ask here please :)

Sorry to hear that. My guesses are:

    1) You have a problem with the keyboard (I switched from my laptop like keyboard and things weren't the same, I don't know why but I couldn't get Dante to move in the direction I wanted, and even had problems performing crazy combos, so I switched back)

    2) You just don't performe the moves well, most likely because of the directional input. I had some problems myself, but the stinger was easy to perform, no problems there for me, hence I think it may be your keyboard.....but it's just a hunch.

Yes there is also the gold mode for pc.

Re: Have a question about DMC3? Ask here please :)

    Thank you!

Maybe I will stick to Easy Automatic Mode for the time being. Just hate banging my spacebar in frustration or my WASD keys just to train some combos.

    Many thanks!

What is the difference between Gold and Yellow?

    sunfacer:

    Dearest DMC3 players.

I am also new to DMC. I play the PC version.

I am trying to learn how to do all the combos. But other than Combo 1 and 2, I can't seem to do High Tide.

It's supposed to be Lock - On + forward + sword, right?

    I never got it.

    Please help.

    THanks.

Ah that is because you are pressing foward, which actually activates another move called the stinger which you can buy off the God of Time statue, or the customise option before the mission. You have to hold down lock-on, press back on the analogue stick (or in your case, the "S" key on your keyboard I think) and then attack.

EDIT: damn someone posted this before me lol

And gold and yellow-Gold revives you after you die on the spot, and yellow brings you to the nearest checkpoint after you die. Gold orbs are more expensive but useful...

Hmm....gold orbs? I only thought you can get them from special 'hidden places' (there are only 3 of them). Whenever I bought a gold orb the damn thing transformed into a yellow orb, and basically I had no other source of gold orbs....meh! who needs them anyway :P

The difference between Gold and Yellow modes:

Yellow is the original DMC3 mode. It means that whenever you die during a mission you can retry from the last check-point (and not having to start the whole mission, except if the mission is short and has no check points). The retry is available at the cost of 1 Yellow Orb.

Gold is easier in the sense that whenever you die you have infinite retries (you don't have to buy Yellow Orbs). Even more if you have a Gold Orb you can respawn from the same spot you just died (i.e. you die in a boss fight and respawn and continue the fight, not having to start it all over again). As I said earlier, I could not buy Gold Orbs (they were actually yellow.....it happened a loooong time ago, and I'm not really sure if I actually bought the wrong stuff), and if it's the same for you than I suggest saving the Gold orbs for difficult bosses.

Modes? I thought whichever one you chose you could buy and find lol =P

Gold Orbs you can buy and some are rarely hidden for you to find. Plus they are more expensive. Mind you, I have never seemed to have found a gold orb in a level...I have had to buy them.

Yellow Orbs you can buy and are easy to find. Plus they are not rare and quite common throughout levels...

Three of them? I only found two, where can I find a third one?

So far I've only found one at the other end of the stairway beyond the red firery door during Mission 7, and another one after completing the broken Trial of Combat in Mission 17. Both my Dante and Vergil game has a pair each.

"Alot," isn't a word, don't merge the words "a" and "lot" together.

Re: Have a question about DMC3? Ask here please :)

The third one you find you you go back in front of Dante's store in Mission ....well that mission when Dante rides the tower up...14 I think. Right, go back and defeat all the monsters there and you'll get a Gold Orb afterwards.
