Unfortunately, I am pretty disappointed with the game for many reasons.  But yeah, I don't think Nero is really explained at all, and it isn't shown how he got the DB.  It doesn't even make sense when he said "from that day forth blah" - he doesn't say what day it was or what happened, so I don't get it.  It is stated that he is connected to Sparda, it doesn't say how, weird.

 I beat DMC4 yeateday, around 4:30PM, I loved it!! Has anyone else beat it? I still need to get the secret ending!!... :( .... Did anyone get the guide book, I though it was kind of confusing, and didn't help awhole lot.. or I guess it could have been that I was reading it to fast, because I really wanted to beat it!!! :)

 I wonder if Vergil will come back in DMC5?? ... I don't think he's dead. and it would be really funny if Sparda some how came back... or he wasn't really dead?! :D

and it would be pretty cool, if they made a DMC game and it's of Sparda's past? and Eva would be in it? :)

 (Someone name Robo, on a Myspace group, thinks that Nero might be Sparda's recarnation,(*I kind of started thinking about that last night,,,too... Something like that lol*), also, I use to think the same think about Vergil and Nero, but the ages wouldn't work...) So... I guess maybe we'll find out someday soon? :)

Yea I beat the game yesterday on devil hunter mode I only unlocked pictures and bloody palace but I went to gamfaqs.com and at the cheat section of the game it wrights that if you beat Dante must die mode then you unlock Super Nero and Super Dante costumes but I haven't don it yet

But, now I'm glad that I have something to chat about because I got Devil May Cry 4 on February 8th and I must say I'm impressed. I like all aspects of gaming, obviously Dante is still my favourite character, but it was quite fun to see what Nero could do. Although when you make the transition between the characters it really makes it hard playing as Dante and I must say this but the style in game switch isn't the greatest thing. Perhaps its because I don't know how to utilize it yet. I dunno.

Anyway, I liked the story of this game and the cutscenes were just so awesome. But there is some information we are missing, it is never clearly stated that Dante is Nero's half brother as posted by Dexter. So that may just be opinion, or is it stated, because if it is I missed it somewhere. And also it is never explained exactly how Nero got the Devil Trigger, if you can call it that. He just happened to have it after the Yamato incident. Oh and to go back to Nero belonging to Dante... Although its said that Nero has Sparda's blood running through his veins, it never touches on the true relation between. He may be another brother, rather than half, if anyone can clarify please do, because knowing me I probably missed it. 

Anyway, I was quite disappointed to only see that there were three bosses in the game which you could get weapons from, Berial, that toad thing and the other flying dragon/snake. Sorry not good on names yet. Anyway, the soundtrack is pretty much what you expect from any Devil May Cry game so that is awesome to see. And the ending was cool too, just gutted that you get more Nero than Dante. =|

Yea the game was fun and the cutscenes looked relay good same with the graphics and the game play but there were a lot of plot holes that didn't explain anything that happened you didn't mis anything Steven for Nero's DT all they showed is him being attacked and then the Yamato going in his hand when the thought of Kyrie and then he DTed they never explained how he got the devil bringer he just said from that day forth his arm changed and a voice echoed which makes me and a lot of people still think of Vergil is Nero's DT they also never explained how the order got the Yamato in the first place and they didn't explain how Nero is related to Sparta they only say he has Sparda's blood which now are bringing more roomers up just like the old ones people are still saying that Nero is the reincarnation of Sparda others are saying hes Dante's Or Vergil's son but we do not now any more then what they gave us in the game.

Towards the end of the game Nero loses control of the Devil Bringer(arm) and all of a sudden a giant statue shows up which is the Final Boss if u play as Dante on disc 2 and the statue is apparently Virgil. 3. The Yamato Blade that Dante some how got possession of is stolen by Nero's clan and once a high rank clan member does some kind of spell, like Arkham did in DMC3 to open the gate to hell, to the blade Nero's arm goes out of control and the giant Virgil Statue shows up ( Statue shows up when Nero touches the blade).

Lady and Trish shows up in the game at the same time and if you seen this month's issue of Anime Insider in the anime series Lady is Dante's ex and I mean ex girlfriend not wife. Trish and Lady will possibly get into and arguement any time soon.

Dante is not Nero's father because Nero's father died in a battle against some demons like 10 years ago ( Trying to complete a mission for the clan). Nero only looks like Dante because Virgil possessed him when he was still in his mothers stomach.

got game  today   great  game disappointed in it ho as it only took me 9hrs 34mins to complete on devil hunter mode (thinks thats wat is called) by  far the shortest dmc so far  currenly  on  mission 18 on hard (sons of sparda) seems bit better but still not as hard i the rest

Lol nice one. I finished the game a few times and I assume that you never ever played the game because nothing you said is right in any way. By the way that statue doesnt look like Vergil in any freaking way so how you got that idea<.< 

I'm pretty sure we've got to wait til Devil May Cry 5 before we figure what the hell is really going on, or pehaps the DMC movie will shed some light on it..but last I had heard the DMC movie was supposed to be based on DMC2, which doesn't explain anything.
