there's 3 portals on each floor one moves you up one floor another moves you up ten floors and the last one moves you up 100 floors.

eh? so you can skip a 100 levels? well now it sounds more possible to complete

however, jumping 10 levels will start the match with a bit of devil trigger, and just going up 1 floor gives you a health orb.

Problem with that, if you play in uneven sets of 100, basically picking the 1's and 10's, you'll fight several more mini bosses around lv's 4000 and up. Agni and Rudra included. Not recommended.

I did it with Super Corrupt Vergil my first time (I had to beat Dante Must Die mode with Super Vergil to unlock that, instead of beating bloody palace to unlock him) and with Super Corrupt Vergil I didn't even have to try, pretty much nothing can hurt you, and anything that does hurt you your health will refill very quickly making you damn near invincible, it was pretty boring, with the standard characters though, my record is 3900 with normal Vergil, and 1900 with normal Dante (I did normal Dante after beating the game on normal and going straight to bloody palace, so I didn't have everything I could have)

berial in the missions isn't that bad but in Bloody palace he becomes insanely broken and Blitzs aren't really that difficult they just take too long to kill.
