Then why are we still talking for Lady and not for Gloria? She wears far less and we 're gonna see her more times in the game than Lady. And if all the female characters were dressed like Kyrie in the games then it would be a big failure. I cannot imagine Lady killing demons like a nun.

Because Gloria is appearing in dmc series for the first time, which means everyone will accept the slutty way she is lol. But Lady used to be better, and how do you know Gloria will appear more than Lady? o.o Is there something I dont know? What I'm saying is that she looks funny in that tight outfit comparing to her old one...... actually I dont even need to compare it cuz it's too tight anway. All the girls shouldnt dress like Kyrie. Of course, there will be sexy girls to attract gamers but while trying to make them sexy, there must be a measure too, not to make 'em look funny.

Well if DMC3 had the DMC4 graphics then probably Lady would seem to wear so "tight" clothes. Also in Dmc3 Lady was 15-17 years old. And we will probably see Gloria more times because the whole game is in Fortuna and as we know only Dante went there. I don't think that they made a so sexy new character just to show her one time.I guess.

Well yeah maybe...if dmc3 HAD dmc4 graphics, it might who knows? But it didnt, so it was not tight which means it was good, still lol. Lady was 15-17?! can you show me an accurate source that saying that capcom verified that she was around 15-17? cuz I never came across with one. For me she looks like 19-20. I dunno what's gonna happen dmc4 or if they will keep those characters, but I hope they wont! lol

OOOHHH!!!! Sorry then. If the age is your problem then she could be 16-19. I don't care for the age but now she must be 26-30. She has grown up. She is a pro demonhunter who has changed costume. Everyone have changed costumes. New game, new dress. New game, better graphics.

No no no, I dont give a damn about Lady's age, you got me wrong...People have their opinions on ages which cant be discussed. I just wondered if that info is true or not. I agree with that though, she shoulda changed her school uniform costume and she changed, indeed. But she's still wearing one of those that she wore when she was 16 though she's now grown up :] well, whatever we say, she'll wear that thing...so,whatever >.> and I just dont like it... lol

    Re: DMC 4 Lady's Outfit

ok, i just read 4 pages worth of opinions on this subject, so i figure why not throw in my two cents.

first off, my take on lady's new outfit: honestly, i thought it was a cool new look.  and i say that as a gamer who appreciates character designs on a new game/system, not as a guy who is "over-appreciative" of the female form in general.  i thought it was an interesting change from the school-girl uniform.  sure, it does show more skin in the front than the last outfit, but its not all that bad, is it?  besides, its not like any of us haven't seen a scantily-clad woman in a video game before, especially ones with a lot more skin showing all over the place.  still, she could have at least one more button on that jacket (seeing as how she only has one being used, and if that one goes, the twins finally get to see the world lol).

next off is the comparison to shirtless dante: okay, i saw this argument a mile away guys, seeing as how its pretty much the only one us guys have in this situation.  i agree that i have never heard one female complaint about that particular issue, but in all fairness, its not quite the same thing.  portraying topless guys is slightly more acceptable than nearly topless women (at least in terms of censorship and the like).

also, my opinion on the outfit in comparison to her personality: why is it a general belief that just because lady's outfit changed to what it is that she turned into a ***.  personally i don't believe its true that "clothes make the man/woman."  what you wear doesn't necessarily define you as a person.  on the other hand, maybe the new outfit is a small indication of a slight change in attitude since the events of dmc3.

(warning: this part may be pretty long and overly philosophical, so either bear with me or skip it)  think of it like this; what do you traditionally think of when you think of a girl in a school girl outfit?  youth, innocence, etc.  you wouldn't normally think of a 19 year old girl wearing something like that, right?  i figure that the outfit is sort of symbol of lost youth and of being stuck in the past (since i assume arkham killed her mother when she was much younger, like at least 3 or 4 years before dmc3) while focused on revenge.  she was short-sighted, blinded by emotions, and stressed out.  i figure that since she got the chance to finally unload a clip in her fathers head at the end of the game, she was finally able to (at least partially) let go of her past, grow out of her hate/angry-at-everything kind of phase, loosen up, and in-turn get a new wardrobe.  in dmc4, i guess she'd probably be more relaxed and obviously more grown up, so her taste of clothes would likely change, though i imagine she'd still be the semi-serious trigger-happy devil hunter we all fell for.

that said, i really don't think this will affect the game in any significant way, since i heard she has a very small part in the game anyway

wow, that was a lot of crap right?  well, anyone who actually read all of that, thank you for your time and let me know what ya think

p.s.- i'm in full agreement on all opinions of gloria

your welcome, and now the comeback (you saw this right? lolz)

in a game, or any kind of media, the charicters look like what they are. have you ever seen a young, innocent kid appear in a game with a big-ol nasty scar? no, but i bet it happens in real life. game charicters are suppose to dress there part. I'd expect someone who'm looks emo to be emo, a scantly-clad-blond to be dumb, etc.

I'm short on time, otherwise I'd say a lot more.

I do agree with this however:

yes i did see it coming, just not this soon.  i understand what you mean, but i actually was referring a bit to real life in terms of the "clothes make the man" comment.  the last part, like i said, was referring to possible symbolism in terms of lady's outfit change.  i thought that even though her particular school girl look wasn't as innocent looking as i may have implied it was, the idea of it would be symbolic enough of all that crap i said before.  which is also my theory behind this new costume.  lady is still supposed to be a sexy, gun-totting devil-hunter, right?  i think we can all agree on that no matter our perspectives on gamer feminism.  i think she still dresses that part in the new outfit, even if it may or may not over-do it.  i just think it shows how she has relaxed since her last appearance in the series and maybe feels more confident about showing off a little more.  that doesn't make her any less respectable than before.  (you can see she lightened up a lot in the dmc anime.  she seems much more playful and teases the hell out of dante as opposed to just shooting in the head for no reason.)

i might just be looking too much into it.  did any of that make sense?

    Re: DMC 4 Lady's Outfit

    here's what I think...

first of all, I'd like to remind you that I've only seen DMC3 lady (in terms of story and such, I didn't look into the anime)

ok, in terms of charicters, Lady isn't too well developed (compared to the countless rpg charicters i've played, or book charicters I've cheered on as they did there thing) but looking into lady this is what I see.

she was told in her youth by her father that "mommy" was killed by a demon, needless to say, this sparked a lot of rage that turned her into the demon hating lady we know in DMC3. like any good game designer, they made her look a "little" cute, but also made her look hardened by lifes lessons. her hair was fringe, her face was emotionless, her cloths even looked tattered. it isn't too hard to picture her holding any kind of fire arm realy, or killing demons.

at the end of DMC3, she discovers that her dad actually killed mommy, and not a demon, so now we can imagine her hatred toward her lying father, whom she originally aimed at demons. further more, she witnessed Dante crying after (supposedly) killing his brother, showing that devils (at least half devils) can cry.

If someone asked me, I'd say Lady would lay down the rocket launcher for good after that moment. well, she'd maybe blow away some thug every once and a while, but her hatred for demons has been quelled  for now.

however, if she did make an appearance in DMC4 (and we know she is) I'd say she'd likely dress "better". maybe a business outfit or something clean. I wouldn't picture her dressing quite like that...

her outfit looks the same as the one she had in the last game, only it's gone threw the wash too many times, and she can't quite get more than one button closed on it. it's a cleaner look than the DMC3 lady, which is what I expected, but it seems a little too "fun" for someone who ditty's there hands with the blood of others. even if it's demon blood.

I'm not saying it's inappropriate for characters to dress like that. as a story writer, there is plenty of opportunity for people who dress like that. But most of the time it's fitting of selfish, uncaring people who have no remorse killing, or there good people...just with a screw loose. or, the most popular, are non-combatant types.

I have nothing against sexy characters. Dizzy is my favorite character in the guilty gear series, and she basically wears a bathing suite and short-shorts. but she's suppose to be innocent and fun, and she doesn't exactly do any fighting, it's all done by spirits attached to her back.

yes, in real life, "cloths DON'T make the man/woman" but this is a work of fiction, and everyone must "dress" there part.

and now that you know where I'm coming from, I'd like to say that your opinion does make sense, and I feel we both will have to agree to disagree, because we both whant lady to "dress her part", but our opinion of that is quite different.

    Re: DMC 4 Lady's Outfit

Well first I kinda like Lady's new outfit, being the average guy that I am but I find myself a horrible person because of this. I actually would not be dissappointed with Lady a more modest outfit. I could go either way here.

I honestly don't think Lady's personality has changed because if you watch the trailer, she says, "The story goes that Sparda served as the feudal of the city, long ago. The people who live there today take these legends as truth and worship him... (A pause)

    Just like a god."

As you see here, Lady still harbors a loathing for demons as much as she ever did. (If this doesn't prove it to you, this is why Lady's father sought after Sparda's power. To become a God.)

I don't doubt he wanted to become a god. but im not sure how you made the connection to lady still deeply hating demons. :/

she looks great! and im sure you think the same about the new outfit. shes`s slutty, bitchy, and so fu**in hot.look around - its a game, not some sort of nun-charity bull**it. so don`t bother about it - fans like nudity. after all if they didn`t capcom would have done it otherwise, wright?

Some very good input from everybody! :)

Lady's probably gonna be fighting in that outfit, but for the love of god I hope nothing "slips out" or she flashes us in some disturbing way. It would make it even worse if Capcom adds the "Bounce mechanic" (Dead or alive anyone?) I just hope they have a limit on how much sex appeal they put in. Cause there is such a thing as the wrong kind of sex appeal.
