however, thanks to the magic of capcom, for no real reason, a developer went back in time and revived him so that he could make a game about him (supposedly). so expect a few more things to be declared non-cannon, because capcom will do anything for the almighty dollar!

erm... Well... I saw a video at the very end of the game and Vergil was catching his breath in that room you appear in when you first go in and suddenly it zooms in on three glowing floating red dots (Mundus) and Vergil says "I think I'll enjoy fighting with the Prince of darkness. If my father could do it, I can too" and walks off towards Mundus. Then it ends. So I think Mundus decided to weaken him and make him one of his followers. I may be horribly wrong, si tell me off I'm stupid for thinking that. OK?

You are right. Vergil lost to Mundus and became Nelo Angelo.

We're just trying to figure out what happened to him after Vergil was "defeated" by Dante in DMC 1. A key here, to the people who thinks Verge iz dead. Mundus told Trish "VERGIL IS DEFEATED!" He did not say he was killed.

hmm...not a bad thoery dude....dere is a lot of difference b/w been defeated n been killed.

Dante only killed the influence of nelo angelo upon vergil.......mundus is quite skilled in the art of recreating souls eg dantes mom (trish) n nelo angelo(vergil).....is jst theory but i guess neros arm(db) is part of nelo  angelo dat mundus created or i guess mundus did not use all of vergill soul to create nelo angelo....he might have kept part of vergil soul aside for future use.

just a theory anyway....

Vergil is in Nero's devil Bringer therefore being his dt. If his soul was in the db b4 he got Yamato or after he got Yamato no one knows. why? Cuz effin CAPCOM is too f**king lazy to make a story line that actually doesn't leave us debatin' with each other over things that NOBODY knows, and to top it all off, Capcom probably doesn't even know wut happened to Vergil either!. And they dug themselves into a friggin 20 meter deep ditch they really can't get out of without pissin off the fans of DMC.

 i don't mean to rain on ur parades  but Capcom probably won't be bringin Vergil back in the next DMC either. Why won't they bring him back? Well, they didn't put Nero into the story for no reason! don't get what i'm sayin? Allow me to explain it better. Nero's db is Vergil. And if they brought Vergil back that would mean no db and no Yamato for Nero meaning all that Nero is left with is a vroomin' sword and a pistol that u don't need to reload (well, u don't need to reload any gun in DMC except in DMC 2, i think. i dunno much about DMC 2). Meaning they would have to take  Nero out of the picture therefore pissin of all of Nero's fangirls and boys.

 (for those who are too lazy to read all of this i have a faster explanation. Nero - Yamato & db + Vergil resurrecting = Nero being nothing but a weak human and being taken out of the picture = Vergil coming back =All Vergil fans thanking the heavens for having ther prayers answered (both of them) = all the Nero fans commiting suicide and hating Vergil even more then they originally do)  

 to sum it all up, i'm done. :]
