    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

Kayle had quickly relocated in the midst of all this on top of a pillar, broadsword rested on his shoulder.

'I would go in there, but things are happenin' way too fast for me. I'll wait it out, see what happens.'

He crouched down low on the pillar, and figured out a way to still be in it all. He stood up again and placed his broadsword on his back. He took out his katana, and gripped the hilt. He took a battle ready stance, and focused on a spot between two contestants.

    Eliminate them, Kayle.

He grinned darkly, and twitched his hand several times. This caused the shine of the katana to slice at the random contestants, seeming to come from nowhere. He then swung the katana out of its sheath, and watched as an ark of Hellfyre ripped through the air at the ground. The ark exploded, leaving a small crater in the earth.

As soon as the creature walked on Alien dashed into the room - it began frantically looking for a way to open the cells.

What the hell is going on here?! It thought.

    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

The room Alien entered would have been mutch trouble indeed, ther would have been plenty of guards to try and stop him, ...would have.. but all that remaind were suits of armor, all haveing a large hole punched in them and ash was scattered every where.

However to the far end of the room, there was a gauntlet hand on a lever. it was half pulled down but somthing stopped whoever tried to Reliece the Contestants... He must have thaught they could save them before the monster got to them.

    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

Alien looked around - it hadn't thought about it before; but of course guards would have been there and would have stopped it. It looked at the suits of armor and ash. It was partially greatful to the monster, however it detested it so much more.

Alien quickly pulled the lever the rest of the way, it hoped that the creature had not reached the others.

My love, please watch over them... It prayed. Turning, it began to make it's way back towards the contestants. Now it knew what was out there, it moved even more cautious. It had little doubt that the creature was using the thing attatched to the fleshy tube to turn the contestants and guards to ash somehow.

    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

Turning Brutis into a zombie-like creature with its body on fire was a nice trick on Irvine's part. Too bad it wouldn't help him against his opponent. Victor snapped his fingers and his minotaur charged again, bringing its axe down on Calvin's head with a skull-shattering vertical swing. Victor turned his attention to Irvine himself, extending his free hand and launching another volley of shadow darts.

Kayle drew his katana out again, still sheathed, and went into a poised stance, crouching low. There seemed to be a sweep across his position, and he was down in the field again. He stood to the side of Victor, tilting his head slightly. He glared, then went into a battle stance, one hand on the hilt of the katana.

The scull of brutis couldn't be shattered so easily however, as the giant merely toppled over backwards from the blow.

    "Heh..."

Irvine was frail in appearance, and boy he was! but he was also agile. Several back flips spared the omnimancer from the punishing darts. "Incredible! next time Irvine, take more than the word of a fool before engaging opponents." he said to himself. Calvin got back to his feet, only this time the heat from his hands had caused 2 massive glass bowling balls to form over his hands. he then hurled them at Irvine's opponents.

    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

The locks of all cells slid open.

"Alien must have found a mechanism!"

Jinn drew his fist downward, grinning victoriously.

"That means we can get the hell outta here. Since the contestants up there seem to be busy, wanna take care of the real issues?" he said looking at Silver; the other beaten contestants making a ring around their cell.

-"Real issues?"- inquired the blacksmith as he crossed his arms musingly -"I just came here to watch the tournament. If you want my help, you're gonna need to explain these issues of yours in more detail..."-

    Jinn saw this coming.

"It might be easier for you to believe me if you talk to her."

He rolled his eyes and offered his hand to the blacksmith.

    "My story is unbelievable."

-"Hmm...fine. Can't be worse than T-bone out there."-

Silver approached the one armed contestant and shook his hand.

With that, Silver felt his very being sucked into Jinn's arm, and it was then he stood over a pond, much like the Belmont had done before. Erika sat all the way over on one side; her one arm hugging her knees. At the sight of Silver, she gave him a faint smile.

"I’m getting more company than I have in years."

She stood up and her white feathered wings stretched to the sides.

Silver surveyed the area curiously without looking at the angel yet.

-"Hah...is this what heaven looks like?"- he asked, more to amuse himself than an actual question.

"No." she giggled quietly at the question, floating towards him "That cannot be described by words... Jinn asked me to exsplain the issue, yes?"

The smith finally turned his gaze towards her and spoke.

-"Well, he didn't do so much as ask for anything; more like implying that you'd provide me with clarifications."-

"So specific..." she commented, then continued. "This tornament wasn’t for a good show. The man running it has aquired a Demon’s arm, and together, they’re harvesting all of the contestants and draining their power for his own good...but I doubt this Devil is working for the man, but rather using him like a tool". she explained.

Silver pondered on Erika's words for a while.

-"Who is this demon you speak of?"-

    "His name is Fenrir."

She set her arm over her belly, averting her eyes away from the smith.

"He is a decieving Demon indeed... and is Markis's left arm, much like I am Jinn's right".

Silver noticed how the angel's eyes wandered away from his.

-"I guess you and Fenrir are very much alike then..."- he remarked all of a sudden.

"No!" she looked back and then composed herself. "He uses people... and craves destruction. That is not my goal"

She looked towards the pond, as it swirled to show Markis.

"He is using him right now".

-"Let me ask you a question. Where is Jinn's other arm?"- he inquired all of a sudden, suspecting something fishy was going on behind the curtains.

"... It was severd off" she answered and then let out a sigh holding her head. "Actually... none of his arms are his..."

She let her arm drop and took in a deep breath, "I can’t lie to you. Both of Jinn's arms were severed off a long time ago. I gave him my right arm...and Fenrir afixed his left arm onto him as a last move before his own demise".

    -"I see..."-

The forger closed his eyes momentarily before lowering them to the pond and staring at the images in it.

-"How do I know this is not some kind of trick on your part?"-

"You don’t , but, I am not the one who set all these men in prison cells."

She twirled her finger on the pond to let Silver see some of the past events leading to where he fell into the cell with Jinn.

-"Alright, I get you point. I'll trust the both of you...for now."- stated Silver he gazed solemnly at her.

"Can I let go of you now?"

Her face seemed to have brightend up slightly. He then gestured affirmatively with a movement of his hand.

-"By the way, you're pretty cute. You shouldn't isolate yourself here forever, y'know. See you around."-

    "That’s not my choice."

She smiled a bit and gave a wave, Silver now being sucked back into himself. Jinn let go of his hand.

    "Had enough?"

    The blacksmith patted Jinn's shoulder.

-"Alright, let's go then. Besides..."- he said as he waited for Jinn to lead them on their way -"I have a score to settle with a certain pet's owner."-

    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

The situation suddenly descended into chaos. Victor's match quickly degenerated into a deadly battle royale as multiple fighters jumped into the arena without warning. "This is bad. I must do something-" Alan started before a sudden, heart-stopping chill ran down the back of his neck. He put his hand on his neck with a look of dread on his face. "This feeling...something's horribly wrong here..." the Belmont thought. In all the history of the Belmont clan, every successor shared one instinctual trait: a strange sense of danger that told them that there is more going on than what is seen. In Alan's case, this sense came in the form of a deathly "chill."

Alan stood conflicted, torn between rushing to Victor's aid and investigation. He knew what he had to do, but decided against it. "I must help Victor! If the fight goes on like this...." Alan muttered through gritted teeth as he readied his Vampire Killer.

"My my...Things have certainly 'gone to Hell,' haven't they?" a familiar voice mused behind Alan.
"Germain!" Alan yelled in recognition, turning to face the red-suited time traveler.
"Shh! Not so loud!" Germain replied as he walked over to Alan.
"What in the world is going on here? Please tell me. I know you've been to every time period, so don't hide anything!"
"Alan, you know I can't tell you. A traveler only passes through, touching nothing, changing nothing."
"It's already too late for that, Germain!"
"I know, I can't tell you everything, but I can tell you this: Death's minions are approaching the arena's prison cells. I cannot directly interfere, which is why I need you. You must defeat them while I deal with the Destination Paradox. Then maybe we can return unharmed."
"But what about Victor, Jinn, and the others? There's more to this tournament than meets the eye. I can't leave knowing that they're in danger!"
"Oh, about that....Well, I can't tell you exactly, but don't underestimate their power. Just let time run its course. Now, I'll take my leave for the moment. Good luck, Belmont."

Germain tipped his hat and disappeared in a bright flash of light. With no time to lose, Alan held out the Vampire Killer and poured vast amounts of his holy power into it. "O Slayer of the Night, Steel your resolve and fight with renewed zeal!" Alan chanted. The Holy whip instantly ignited with a white flame in response. But as soon as the fire came, it began to dissipate from the Vampire Killer's leathery slack. Wherever the flame extinguished, the whip's leathery hide was replaced by a pure white chain. The dying blaze converted the whip's length into metal chains until it reached the tip. With one final pop, the fire departed in a small explosion, revealing a menacing spiked Morning Star as the tip of the new Vampire Killer.

"Time to end this madness!" Alan turned and snapped his new chain whip straight at the barred window, causing a large detonation of sheer kinetic force. After the dust settled, a massive hole remained where the window and its surrounding wall once stood. Without hesitation, Alan leaped straight out of the breach and into the air above the arena, swinging the Vampire Killer round and round to build up momentum. "Stop right there!" Alan bellowed at the top of his lungs. Just before he landed, the Belmont brought his swinging chain-whip crashing down into the ground. The unbridled impact of the Vampire Killer's morning-star tip caused a powerful quake, shaking the ground throughout the coliseum and causing an immense crater where Alan landed. But little did Alan realize that the force of the strike broke huge fissures all over the ground, compromising the land's stability.

    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

The problem with Calvin was that he was so predictable, his attacks so easy to avoid. The real trouble came in the form of the creature's immense power. The minotaur dropped its axe and caught the ball coming its way, wasting no time in hurling it back at Calvin. Victor, for some reason, also tried to halt the projectile. He extended his free hand and opened his fingers out, projecting a shield of energy to intercept the ball. The glass orb shattered against the shield but its size and the sheer force with which it had been thrown knocked him off his feet and threw him to the ground a metre or so back from where he'd been stood. The boy got to his feet and shook off the mild disorientation, glad that he didn't seem to have sustained any injuries.

As he was about to launch a counterattack, however, an explosion in the center of the arena drew his attention. The smoke cleared and the Shadow Warper caught sight of a very familiar whip...
"Alan!" he shouted in surprise and joy, a broad smile on his face. Finally, some backup! Rushing to greet the warrior, Victor stopped a metre or so from him and exhaled deeply. "I can probably take this guy, but thanks anyway. Time to bring this match to an end."

Twirling his blade and throwing Irvine a menacing glare, Victor took a combat stance and beckoned to the omnimancer. Maybe there was something more to this tournament, but Victor was gonna have some fun before he got caught up in whatever went on behind the scenes.
