    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

Alan felt quite flattered by the boy's polite greeting and even felt a little nostalgic, being reminded of what he was like when he was 15 years old. "It's a pleasure to meet you Victor. I am Alan Belmont... despite what the guards insist on calling me." said Alan in a lighthearted tone as he he shook Victor's hand with a firm, friendly grip. He noticed a peculiar kind of static emit when he shook hands with the Shadow Warper, but simply shrugged and chuckled a little. After all, their powers were, in essence, polar opposites. Despite this, Alan felt he could get along naturally with the young aspiring mage that stood before him.

But then a sudden horrible thought flew across his mind like an arrow before it pierces a victim's heart, "What if I had to face this boy in combat? Could I ever bring myself to fight him with full force?" he thought. But then he shook his head and cleared his mind, "No, I'd be dishonoring him if I refused to fight seriously." he thought again. The prospect of a mighty, epic battle suddenly filled his thoughts; a fight with platinum resolve from both combatants as they fought with everything they had, breaking past the limits and becoming stronger with each passing moment, all perfectly synced with the exhilarating rhythm of combat. Alan then felt a sudden beating rush of blood and adrenaline surge through his body. He chuckled again and took a deep breath. No matter how much he hated to admit it, deep down inside, he hungered for those kinds of battles; but then again, it was a mutual instinct shared among strong fighters.

He gave Victor a warm, amiable smile. "I eagerly look forward to witnessing your combat prowess as well. I sense... a great fountain of potential flowing through you. Walk the path that is meant for you, without fear. I am confident that we shall see each other at the end of this tournament. But until then, best of luck to us all."

    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

Even Amaya felt the energy that emitted from there handshake. All these competitors will be hard to beat, why did I do this anyway part of her thought. You know why, you can beet these people, all you want is that stupid wish, that's all you need. Then mom will be back and everything will be alright. She argued.

Amaya's life had not been easy, from what she knew her demon father abandoned her and her mother after she turned two. It still surprised Amaya to know that her mother sill stayed in Japan, still training the young demon hunter, untill the age of ten. After that they went back to Europe. Her mother was amazed how Amaya so easily mixed the two fighting styles into her own technique, plus master her power to control fire.

She thought back to her mother's death, was it really only 6 months ago? it seemed to her so much longer than that. Now she was here, trying to bring her back. That's why she had to win.

    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

"Alan?" Victor inquired of the Belmont, suddenly quite confused. "Then why do the guards keep calling you Trevor?" Victor pondered this for a moment. In the back of his mind, he was expecting a very strange explanation from Alan. Victor's glance shifted momentarily to Amaya, then to the rest of the room. "This will be interesting... Very interesting indeed..."

Alien entered the waiting room. It felt eyes watch it - but did not meet their gaze. The obsticle course was hard for it to complete in its hooded cloak but its desire for the wish drove it forward - its hood didnt even fall from covering his entire face.

It sprained his wrist during it, however, it passed the wound on to a cruel onlooker for shouting unrepeatable insults at it.

It was unclear how many contestants there were - the smell of death that eminated from one part of the room made it clear vampires had been allowed to enter - silly humans... dont they know vampires will only cause problems...

It could sence great power from many people in the room and smiled a happy smile that looked only malicious. One way or another we will be reunited...

The tournament was what it had dreamed of for at least a millennia.

    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

"I'm not quite sure. When I got here, they were calling me Trevor and saying something about Trevor being an invited contestant...." replied Alan. "But that doesn't make sense. Trevor Belmont died over 500 years ago!" Alan thought to himself as he watched more and more contestants filling the room. He noticed that Amaya was watching them and he saw some barely noticeable hints of sorrow in her expression, almost like she was reminiscing about something like a tragedy that occurred in her past. "Is there something wrong with your friend? She looks a little troubled." inquired Alan with a slight tone of concern as he gestured at Amaya.

Alan's words took her out of her daze.

"Oh, sorry, I was kind of off into my own little world." she gave the others a smile.

    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

Alien looked to where a group of participents were talking.

... wont that make it harder if they have to fight? i suppose everyone has to have friends... they make a person happy to live in a way...

he looked for somewhere to sit but could see no where - many of the spaces that were empty were being covered by people who obviously didnt want It near them.

this is how it always ends up... me - alone... Alien sighed and pulled his hood further over his head.

    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

Alan suddenly sensed something strange in the room. It felt partially demonic and...unknown at the same time. He looked around and saw the source of the anomaly: a tall, dark figure that was almost completely concealed by a black hooded cloak; only its shining red eyes and skeletal, clawed hands were visible. Something about that cloaked person seemed very, out of this world. "I wonder who that might be..." thought Alan. He tried to study the stranger further from a distance but couldn't obtain anymore info from simply looking. So he decided to do the only thing that he could do. "Sorry Victor, Amaya, but I must investigate something. I'll be back shortly." Alan said to his new acquaintances before he walked towards the cloaked stranger.
He suddenly felt a hand on his shoulder and turned to see one of the guards beside him. "I wouldn't talk to that...creature if I were you, Mr. Belmont. Something doesn't seem right about that bloke." said the guard in a thick, cockney accent. Alan simply smiled in response.
"I know, but you could say that about nearly every person here. It never hurts to make a new friend." replied Alan before he continued his path to the unusual fellow.
"Excuse me, sir. You're not from around here, are you?" joked Alan in a friendly, lighthearted tone when he got close. "My name is Alan Belmont, who might you be, sir?" said Alan as he cordially held out his hand with a good-natured smile on his face, completely undeterred by the stranger's long, sharp fingernails. Alan was wearing gauntlets after all.

Emma  mooved into the waiting rom, and large stone doores closed behind her. guards escorted her onto a higher platform so she couild speak and be heard, the guards thwere to push past the other fighters. now looking down to them all she let out a long sigh. "Alright..." she flipped threw some parchment. "all of the worthy have been selected, and are now all standing in this room" a roar erupted as the crowed showed how pleased they where, keeping her own shout of annoyance to herself, she continued as the roar subdued. "you will now all be set into secters, and within theas secters will house there own battles. and finaly when there are a lesser amount, you may show "the master" what your all made of" another roar, as the guards had to calm every one down. she made a slight bow and began pointing to people and writeing down names , and circleing a large group together. "this will take just a moment...".

Victor joined the rest of the room in their cheering, punching the air in excitement and looking at Amaya with a sly grin.
"Now we're getting somewhere," he laughed, looking around the room with a smile. "Prepare yourselves, ladies and gentlemen, 'cause the party has just begun!"

    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

Alien ignored the crowd and was about to shake Alans hand when it suddenly drew it back - for a moment it fiddled with its sleeve making sure its hand was completely covered then took the hand before it.

"Hello... I am known only as Alien... i was never named - not by my perents at least." it could feel great power in the man before him and let go of his hand, "I am not from around here no... you dont seem to be either... you seem somehow... different... and i havent heard of a Belmont named Alan before." Aliens voice was as raspy as usual and its serpent tongue and long fangs gave it an unnatural lisp - once again it regretted how malevolent it sounded.

As Alien looked around the room it became afraid... if all of the contestants possess the power of this man... it shivered slightly - was it really prepared for this? Alien was not a violent person - it had only ever fought to protect or help - will i really be able to fight because of greed... Alien shook its head - careful not to move its hood from covering its face; I will not be fighting for greed... ill be fighting for love...

    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

"Well, I suppose that it's sometimes better to be less...known. Makes it easier to move around. But I still don't understand why the guards insist on calling me Trevor." replied Alan.

Alan was a little surprised by the stranger's raspy, lisped voice, but he sensed no actual malevolent intent from the stranger who introduced itself as "Alien." He took a slightly closer observation of Alien and noticed that the strange fellow was deep in thought and seemed....sad, conflicted...and lonely. Despite this, Alan sensed a strange yet powerful force concealed within Alien.

"Don't worry, it may seem like a hostile environment, but I'm confident that you'll make it to the end of this tournament. If you're ever in need, don't hesitate to call on me." said Alan as he put a reassuring hand on Alien's shoulder. Suddenly, Alan felt a tug at his coat and looked down to see a little girl pulling on the end of his coat, as though she wanted to speak to him.
"Mister Belmont, the man in the red suit wishes to speak with you." the girl said.
"Man in a red suit?.......Wait....Of course! Saint Germain! Perhaps he will have some answers to my predicament." said Alan. He then turned back to Alien. "Forgive me, but I must take my leave for the moment. 'Till we meet again!" said Alan before he let the girl lead him away from the waiting room and into one of the coliseum's hallways.

It wasn't long before Alan spotted the exquisitely-clad Saint Germain, who was leaning against a wall , adjusting yet another one of his watches. The little girl ran up to Germain and started to tug incessantly at his red vest. The bemused gentleman finally took notice, smiled, and handed the little girl a gold coin. The exuberant little youth shouted with glee before she ran off. Then, as though a switch was turned, Germain's amused demeanor disappeared and in place was an expression of sheer concern.

"My, my. Quite the troublemaker, aren't you?" remarked Germain as he dusted off his red vest and shifted his attention towards Alan.
"What exactly do you mean? What happened? And who are you?" asked the Belmont.
"One thing at a time please. We already have enough complications as it is. To start off, you already know my name. I am Saint Germain, "a traveler...only...half here, not allowed to...speak the truth, not allowed to act...upon reality! Yet, one who knows all...'' is what I'd say under normal circumstances." explained Germain.
"How strange...So what you're getting at is....that you travel through time?" sad Alan.
"Exactly. Which is partly why we're here. Your little...attack, while in good intention, disrupted the space-time continuum since it was in a close proximity to my time warp. As a result, you're here, in the Middle Ages, the time of your ancestor: Trevor Belmont. And I am temporarily unable to warp either myself, or you through time. However, I can still teleport through space." replied Germain.
"So that's why the guards mistook me for Trevor!" exclaimed Alan.
"Not so loud! But yes. And that's also why you would do well to avoid doing anything drastic. Like, for example, creating a time paradox!" said Germain.
"I...understand. I've read enough science fiction to know what would happen if I were to do anything to affect the timeline." replied Alan.
"Good, that saves me the trouble of explaining things to you. I'll try and apply a Destination Paradox to this time frame, which will give you more freedom to act without worry of consequence."
"Wait, then why don't you apply a Destination Paradox to the whole timeline?"  asked Alan. Germain suddenly jumped in surprise and shock, unbalancing his top hat.
"The whole timeline?!?! Are you insane?! Do you realize how much effort is required to work a Destination Paradox into a single year?!" shouted Germain as he fixed his top hat.
"I'm sorry. I did not know...." said Alan.
"Good. Now, don't do anything drastic until you hear from me again. See you around..." said Germain before he tipped his hat and disappeared in a flash of light.

Alan then let out a deep sigh and walked back to the waiting room. "What a nightmare...." he muttered.

    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

Alien watched Alan leave with a little girl and slowly raised a hand - it was shocked by the mans kindness; not many people approached him in a friendly manner, usually it was only to ask for his aide in some evil plot or to tease and be hurtful.

It turned its head as Alan began to converse with another man. Maybe not all humans are bad... you werent... you never were...

For a moment that seemed to hang and last for much longer than a moment Alien began to remember how all of his hardships seems so little when River was alive... River... I am so sorry... i tried... i didnt know then... but im careful now... i am... a bright light from alans direction tore it away from its thoughts and its hand went instinctively to its sword. It stayed that way and scanned the area around Alan quickly but carefully and when it was sure he was not in danger, it relaxed.

It kneeled on the floor and took a piece of wood out of its sleeve, River... it thought and began to carve her with his thumbnail.

    Re: Devil hand-Wrath of fire

"'Don't do anything drastic' he says. But the tournament will start soon. I hope Germain applies that Destination Paradox soon. Otherwise..." thought Alan as he pondered over his current predicament.
He looked over to his right and saw Victor and Amaya preoccupied with joining the other contestants in the pre-tournament festivities. Over to his left, Alan saw Alien kneeling down, carving something into a piece of wood with careful, affectionate movements of his thumbnail. Curiosity got the better of Alan as he walked towards Alien to see what he was carving so intently. However, dizziness began to creep into Alan's awareness and his fatigue from the day's earlier ordeals started to take a toll on him. His steps staggered and became heavier, his breathing became strained. Soon enough, he stopped and held his hand to his head, feeling like he was at his limit. Alan finally had enough and reached into his inner coat pocket, retrieving a vial of a mysterious liquid.
"I hope the coliseum shop offers potions like this...." muttered Alan before he downed the entire vial in one gulp. Within seconds, Alan's blood turned to fire as an enormous burning sensation surged through his entire body. The burning became nearly unbearable to Alan as energy was forcibly jammed into his body's system, forcing Alan to his knees. After what seemed like an agonizing eternity, the pain passed and Alan rose to his feet once more, completely rejuvenated. "No matter how many times I drink that, it still feels and tastes like burning pitch." complained Alan before he continued his way and neared Alien.
Now within close proximity of Alien, Alan almost immediately sensed a depressive aura coming from Alien's direction. Even without his heightened Belmont senses, Alan could tell that Alien was mourning on the inside. Alan peeked over Alien's shoulder and saw the name "River" being carefully etched into the wood. The Belmont took a step forward with the intention of trying to console the poor stranger, but decided against it. "I have no right to intrude on another's personal affairs...." Alan thought. He gave Alien a sad, regretful smile and turned to leave but found that he couldn't gather the will to leave. "Why must I always feel compelled to help others? I swear, it shall be the end of me one of these days...." thought Alan before he turned yet again towards Alien. Looking at him, for some reason, reminded Alan of that fateful day many years ago when his own mother was murdered before his eyes. Alan took a deep breath and gathered his composure.
"Is that....someone precious to you?" Alan quietly asked.
