i have dmc 3

it is the best game i ever played

but i wonder, is it worth buying dmc 1 and 2?

iam very curious, and i would like to play them.

are they good? they will be im sure.

I would say they're both good buys.  DMC 1 is really good though its better to play it before you play dmc3 but thats a little too late.  Dmc 2 doesnt have anything relevent with the first and thirds storyline, though it has very good action.  I would say that they're both great buys.  How could you doubt a DMC game anyway?

If you played DMC 1 first, you would have appreciated it more, since you played DMC 3 first, I dunno if you will play DMC 1 with the mindset that it is meant to be played. Anyways, DMC 1 is easy to find under $10 it is completely worth it. You could buy DMC 2 just to see how bad Capcom can mess up..

Inconceivable, I find it impossible how anyone can like DMC 2 over DMC 1.

The only things DMC 2 was good for:

1.) Introduced the level select system/ character select screen

2.) Better control configuration

3.) The invention of the the Circle button to do something unique

4.) Better checkpoint system

5.) Desperation Devil Trigger/Cool DT Design

6.) Weapon Switch on the fly system

Why DMC 2 sucks:

1.) Fails to surpass the atmoshpere/mood/feel that DMC 1 introduced

2.) Fails to surpass the awesome boss fights DMC 1 had

3.) Fails to pose a challenge even on DMD mode

4.) The storyline/dialogues/cutscenes were pathetic

5.) The Elemental Heart idea was one of the worst things to happen to DMC 

6.) Weapon Selection fails, no true demonic weapons?

7.) Stages/Key Items/Puzzle Solving if there was any all sucked

8.) Bosses sucked

9.) Enemy designs sucked

10.) Lucia had no relevance to anything, she was just thrown in there for no reason whatsoever

11.) Didn't have the creepy feel that DMC 1 had, and enemies weren't much of a threat

12.) Soundtrack was so bad I don't even remember any of it

13.) Most importantly, gameplay sucked

Everything about DMC 1 was better, everything. DMC 2 introduced some vital new things, but it is still a disgrace to the series.

You forgot DMC 2 introduced Bloody palace >.>.... but dont mind me I never played DMC 2  = ) onle 3:SE and a little of the first one, I watched my brother play threw the rest.

I liked Devil May Cry 2, I still find it a shame that fans hate their own game.

Anyway, if you liked DMC3 you will absolutely love DMC. The original is more concerned with survival horror and action, whereas DMC3 is built mainly on action and practically nothing else, except it has the most gore than any of the other games. It has the better environments and really, sometimes it will actually scare you a bit in certain parts, especially in boss fights. It is even harder in my opinion 'cause you have less moves to master, but still one Hellova game I can tell ya =D

DMC2 has much, much more moves but the environments are sucky. But still the gameplay is pretty good I think, but not as good as DMC3 but still much much more moves than the original. More unlockables aswell =)

Aye, Infected Helicopter ffs! DMC2 also had the most stylishly dressed Dante, in my opinion. And I suppose ‘gameplay sucked’ covers the fact you could simply walk around with the Shoot button held down to defeat EVERYTHING.
