dude!! do you think any of the members here would say "dmc3 sucks dont ever buy it" or something like that XD I dont think so... I dont know if the original is harder or not but I think se was pretty hard when you play in dante must die mode!! :P I would definately buy se because Vergil(not Virgil) is available and he's pretty cool after all and there is a sparda costume! yeah it definately worths it!!!

Re: devil may cry 3 begginer help.

it's worth the buy. i don't have the special edition because i allready had the third on before SE came out. personally, i think trickster is the best style throughout, but it really depends on the player. i like trickster because you can find many loopholes within your enemie's attacks and that makes it easier to hide your own attack within your enemie's. this style works best against vergil and a few others if you use the arial dodge slash technique (a player tech not something dante can purchase, but is rather a combo of your own moves). it also helps you move to different areas faster as well as easier platforming. watch out for when you're vulnerable after making your move.

Re: devil may cry 3 begginer help.

I agree with Zeno. You should start with the Trickster Style to avoid your enemies'attacks. Just be sure to use all of the moves available in the game. Check the moves and attacks available in the File/Library menu by pressing the Left Directional button. I'm telling you right now, check them all.

And as for purchasing the game, you should buy the special edition.

What your friends said isn't entirely correct, the special edition isn't easier, it just has a new mode that's a lot easier compaired to the regular edition. That's all. If you must know what's the comparison of the difficulties between the two then here it is.

-the Easy Mode in the special edition is way easier than the Easy Mode in the regular edition.

-the Normal Mode in the special edition is exactly similar to the Easy Mode in the regular edition.

-the Hard Mode in the special edition is exactly similar to the Normal Mode in the regular edition.

-the Very Hard Mode in the special edition is exactly similar to the Hard Mode in the regular edition.

-the Dante Must Die! Mode in the special edition is exactly similar to the Dante Must Die! Mode in the regular edition.

You see? The only difference is that the special edition has an extra easier mode for the weaker players. And if you want a real challenge, then there's a Bloody Palace Mode in the special edition, where you're pitted to conquer a 10,000 floor battle arena in one go, without the use of any items.

You start at floor 0 facing a few weak enemies, as you fight fight your way to floor 9 999, you'll face tougher and tougher enemies and boss fights.

Re: devil may cry 3 begginer help.

The Bloody Palace Mode? You have to beat the game at least once to unlock it. But if you have a saved game file of the regular edition, then the game will automatically unlock the Bloody Palace Mode and Vergil for you.

    Yes I am.

The game's difficulty in the Japanese version was easier, compaired to the US version. The Normal Mode for the Japanese version is exactly the same with the Easy Mode for the US version, and the Hard Mode for the Japanese version is exactly the same with the Normal Mode in the US version.

With the Special Edition, the Japanese version gains a new harder difficulty. (the US version's Hard Mode, labeled as the Very Hard Mode in the game). And the US version, in turn, gains a new easier difficulty. (the Japanese version's Easy Mode, labeled as the Easy Mode in the game)

Re: devil may cry 3 begginer help.

    I see

    Quote from DMC3 walkthrough:

The modes are listed below in ascending difficulty order: |
    | -Japanese Easy -UK Easy |
    | -Japanese Normal -American Easy -UK Normal |
    | -Japanese Hard -American Normal |
    | -American Hard -UK Hard |
    | -Japanese DMD -American DMD -UK DMD |
    | I neither know nor can confirm anything about difficulties |
    | concerning other European versions.

Lol, dmd is everytime the same!!
