I was thinking this cause...i once played Silent Hill (Which i think is the scariest video game in history) and there monster designs are great. Do you think that kind of design would be good in a DMC game...or just the damn puppet fetish Capcom seems to have (Looks at DMC 4 enemies and DMC 1 enemies)

It's Dante's fault, lol. The fact is, even with scary designs (DMC2 enemies were kinda scary, skeletons of beings that were kill in those metal torture devices and brought back to life) as long as Dante is a powerful demon who can get stabbed and not even care, and who constantly insults the enmies like they're nothing it's hard to be frightened, :p.

But yeah, I don't think they even try for scary designs though.

Yeah, the designs are kinda...like a joke. What's next Dante fighting Raggedy Ann look-alikes.

Yeah those designs were cool..not scary (The device they were trapped in i believe is called an Iron Maiden if i'm not mistaken)

Hmm...I don't want to start a versus topic but Dante vs Pyramid Head...Resident Evil had some scary designs...only Nemesis comes to mind as the scariest.

Dante is in a dark alleyway and see's one of those creepy dead nurses

Dante turns on his male charm and suddenly realizes it's a monster

"Hmm...here ya go" *Puts paperbag over creepy nurses head*

"Now you look a lil hotter for the eyes. Dante then kicks her ass.

the puppets resembled zombies and that wasa as scary as it got. here are some scary games. Eternal Darkness (going into a room full of enemies and it says there is a controller problem), Silent Hill (walking bags of human body parts waiting just arround the corner to jump out at you befor you see them), F.E.A.R. (that little girl reminds me either of Michael Jackson or the Ring girl), Resident Evil (they just wont freekin die).

It's Dante's fault 'cause he's too good, :p. Most scary enemies are in survial horror games where you're supposed to run away from the enimies or shoot them from far away. But Dante just rushes in sword drawn and throws them around the room while trash talkin' about how weak they are, :p. It's hard to be scared with someone like Dante backing you up.

good point lobuk. i think they could have still made it scary though even with those enemies. example: walking along a dark hallway and a marionet hanging uside-down from the celing, slightly drops down and hits you with a crescent blade and then a loud sound comes in like in horror movies.

lol again. but seeing a barbecued dog with it's head chopped in half and seeing an extreemily fat enemy that i nicknamed "Erik" after one of my friends made silent hill 3 pretty funny. not to mention that those dogs that are eating bodies on the floor go back to eating after you attack them.

the enemy's look scary, but have strange animations. in dmc3, the guys with the scyths(not the sand demons, the white/red ones) when you hit them, they stumble backwards, and I could almost imadgen one inside a combo performed with beowulf saying: woh, woh, WOH!
