Re: DMC movie based on the novel

It will be disappointing that you don't start off with either of them.  But as I have heard, Dante will be playable.  SO that's a plus  ^^  I'm a DMC fan so I will get the game regardless and at least try it out.  But then again, it IS all opinionated wheather a game will suck or not.

    Hope this helps a bit.

I think that seeing Dante from a new angle will help teh game. We all know Dante's in's and out's but we've never seen his motives as a mystery. It will be interesting to do that in DMC4

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

This particular thread is for a Devil may cry movie that is in pre-production. It is not under any sanctions by capcom and is not being produced by any major company...right now at least

I am a writer, and a devil may cry fan. I'm simply writing a script based on the Devil may cry novel (although the novel isn't canon, but I tweaked the story and some other things to make it fit)

I am no professional, but I can assure you that this isn't some fanboy piece. This is the dramatic story of Dante, before devil may cry 3. Dante is working under the name "Tony Redgrave" in the slums of the big city, where drug lords and other criminal vermin reign. Tony/Dante has run from his past and has pushed his own origins out of his mind. But when a mysterious man wrapped in bandages, named Gilver, appears...Tony/ Dante's life takes an unexpected turn into darkness. Those closest to him are lost, one by one. He finds himself battling fierce demons yet again. Will he turn away from the life that seems to keep catching up to him? Or will he finally face the darkness that pursues him?

The legend begins in this action thriller that will no doubt kick a$$

yeah..I can be VERY theatrical, lol

but anyways, I am aiming pretty high. I want this to be made, I'll even attempt to contact Capcom and Gaga to see what they think

    thanks

but the problem with posting an entire script or story on the web is...well, its very likely that people can copy it. So I'm gonna maintain giving updates and possibly little teasers, but not a whole script unless I am actually working WITH someone to help bring it to life

But if anyone knows anybody from Capcom, I would be happy to hear from them regarding my script...lol

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

yeah, copyright infragmentation would suck.  At least you're smart about it.

Anyway about the whole issue on DMC4, personally i think they did a pretty good job with Dante's wordrobe.    Between that and a few other ideas i think they can do a sweet job with Vergil as well  ^^  And who knows maybe Nero will be alright to play as... HOWEVER... he'll NEVER take the place of our two favourite characters.

Hay Gilver, maybe try finding some site that gives you the option that helps stop copyright ifragmentation.  it will help.  Good luck bro!

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

its a big worry of mine that someone could copy my material. Once I wrote a paper for school, a historical fiction piece about the battle of thermopylae, it was amazing. All of my family said so. Then, a while back I heard about the new movie 300, and I thought someone had copied my paper!!! of course that wasn't the deal, but it felt good to see a movie that resembled my paper, I just loved it.

But since its still a big worry of mine, I'll only post tiny bits of the script, or make sure my files are protected.

anyways, I can't wait to make this movie, I am so confident that I can please fans and the general public alike with a film, I just hope that I am allowed to do such a thing. the weird thing is that I can already see it all in my head, from the prologue with Sparda's story, to the alleyway of the first scene, into the world of Dante's memories and dreams and finally to the battle with the baddie himself. It would be one hell of a ride, one that will not only satisfy the surface action movie buff, but will also make those thinkers think more and more. I believe my project will add depth to Dante's character, eloborating the reasons behind his indifference towards his father and even showing more of Dante's human side. Dante's relationship with Vergil will also be shown, as well as Eva and Sparda.

the point is, gentlemen...that we know what we want ( I say WE because I am just a fan, like you) and were gonna get it!

    lol

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

well, I finished most of it. All that is left is the polishing. That includes adding new character development scenes, adjusting lines for realism, possibly rearranging scenes, general editing and finally spell check!

    not that much though

How do you guys feel about a young romantic interest for Dante? for those of you that have read the novel, it will be Jessica. For those of you that haven't read the book, it will be a hot girl ( yes human) who seems like a perfect match for him.

Lets go over some of the characters

Dante/ Tony Redgrave: Our familiar hero. In these younger years he is just as cocky though not quite as strong. Dante is going through a crisis at this point, not too long ago he had to survive his mother's death and Vergil's disappearance. Dante ran and eventually came to work as a merc in the criminal infested city. This is a transition in Dante's life from cocky, smart-a$$ed, runner to a cocky...smart a$$ed unmovable rock before evil. its hard to explain, but you'll see it

Nell Goldstein: an old gunsmith, Dante treats her like a mother ( he makes fun of her a lot though...) Nell looks after him and frequently spices up his guns so that they can handle his speed. She is very smart and knows that Tony/ dante is hiding something from her...

I'll get more characters down later

    but for now, good night!

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

it's my first time in this thread, and i'm really impressed with all the ideas you came up with to make the story relyable!! if possible, i'd like to read your entire work when you decide it's finished, and i have some of my own ideas for the script...

i also have an idea for explaining the non-stop ammo of dante's guns: you could explain that dante has only one bullet in each gun, powered by somekind of a devil's blood that reproducts, when ever it's being offered a sacrifice- each time dante fires- some blood is shed- that's the trigger to the bullet reproduction (the fire massacre). i don't know if it's a good idea, but i believe that the reason for dante's infinite ammo should be the machanics of the guns, not a curse. (" imagine a demonic monster saying: it shall be done, your guns shall have infinite ammo") devil's are not familiar with human equipment, and so it should be a human using an underworld force in order to ajust the human's weapon.

good luck with your work, and plz send me a copy of what you have of the script sometime!

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

    I appreciate the help

but I think I might have a good way of explaining it. At one point, Goldstein comes over to Tony's apartment to update him on the progress of his new mausers ( he didn't go to HER because his boots were screwed up from fighting demons) while she's there she finds the picture of his mom and also finds one of his dad. Sparda in the picture has his two guns Luce and umbra, which catches Goldstein's eye. While Dante/Tony is distracted, she looks through some more stuff and finds plans for guns just like Luce and Umbra. Feeling sorry for Tony/Dante for the loss of his parents, she takes the pic and the plans and decides to make them for him.

Later she asks too many questions about Tony/Dante's past, he buckles and tells her some of the story of his origins. to offer as an example he shows her a book of spells and demons, she finds a spell for infinite ammo in firearms and comments on that :" I wish I had this when I used to make guns!"

Since she is making Ebony and Ivory ( named after her favorite song) she uses that spell on the guns and surprisingly it works

This way, the infinite ammo is explained. The guns are made by Goldstein, but they still are Dante's creations because he made the plans for them.

If anyone is going to read my script, I'd rather have it be finished. I won't give out my whole script though, just some good scenes, ( I have to keep the best ones hidden though, we wouldn't want to ruin the surprise!)

    anyways, I better get going

    see ya later
