Re: DMC movie based on the novel

    whew

there's a LOT of stuff we need

    let me think...

ok, well first there's cameras and related equipment ( I might be able to get that from a professional that I know)

then there's props, (costumes, swords, guns, etc)

then we need more actors ( for Grue, Goldstein, bobby, etc etc)

then there's all the post production editing and effects equipment...lot of stuff

but I was thinking about who should be playing who and the idea of two different people playing twins didn't click for me...I was discussing this with my kick @$$ sister and she said it would look kinda cheap...R.L. scott's film has two people as well! no offense to James and his project!!  lets make THAT clear! BUt in this film there is a particular scene where the audience finds out who GIlver really is...and it wouldn't hit unless they saw someone that looked JUST like Dante. Now Gilver wears bandages over his face for most of the movie (hiding his true identity with the excuse of some injury perhaps) so two people can play Dante and Gilver at THAT point. BUt someone needs to be BOTH when it comes to their faces. And that can be done with camera and editing tricks ( like it was done in the parent trap, the new one )

we'll see how it plays out, I might not even have enough time to be in it!! YOU could end up being both of them!!

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

For all the props we need, what we need to do is find descent jobs and save some money to at least somewhat afford all or some of it. But that IS just one of the few that can bedone as options.

Hehehe, yes... first person shooters can help though i'm not actually to big a fan of those types of games. Kendo does also always help  ^^.  My (actual) bro james takes that... it's kool ^^

once i get home today i'll upload some pics for your convenience (that is if my dad has the machine hooked up, because he relocated the compy last night so yeah).

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

Like I said before, I know a guy that makes movies. Cameras and editing won't be too much of a problem

the effects might be, we need wire stunts for jumping and acrobatic moves. we would need some CG effects for Rebellion, Gilver/vergil's slashing (possibly) and the monsters and demons. as well as the portal to the demon world.

As for the swords themselves...It might be difficult to make those...you see, I have already designed the looks for Yamato and rebellion. Yamato will look the same EXCEPT that since it is recognizable by Dante, the hilt will be wrapped in cloth matching gilvers face. Rebellion will have a Few stages. the first is small, like 3 feet, for when Sparda gives it to Dante. the second form is when it has grown in power as Dante has since he was younger. It will be more than 4 feet long but not very wide or thick. the final version will be exactly what Dante starts out with in DMC3. because the swords might be a little heavy, I would suggest it be made from plastic molding made to look metallic.

As for Dante's outfit, its a red coat designed to look like it belongs in 1980 but it is still different that the one from DMC3. Just picture a red bikers jacket and make it long and incorporate some black into the design and you're fairly close.

Vergil's costume will be drawn up ASAP, but it will consist of a long black wool trenchcoat, with a blue shirt underneath. possibly black boots to match.

Dante's guns will probably be airsoft replicas (any will do for his ordinary mercenary guns) Ebony and Ivory are yet to present themselves, but I think I have found something ...I'll look into it, but it might be costly to buy. the flash effect of the guns will be added post production

by the way, is Ivory white or silver? I hear people saying its white but the pictures look like its silver (like chrome or something)

Here are the guns I was looking at

it would need some work, but I think I'd be able to fix them up if I had the proper resources

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

Swwet.  Ivory is silver.  and those guns look extremely close enough  ^^.  the clothes sound very good.  of course as you know, Vergil's clothes of choice (as they seem to be) are more traidtional somewhat medeival-ish type.

Oh and as for the hairdo... since atleast my hair is a bit longer than Vergil's is in DMC3.. i was thinking once he reveals himself in your script, -i'm not sure if you know of Sasuke from the anime Naruto- but he could have more or less that type of hair.  Still spiked in the back, but a bit longer in the front... i have an example in one of my pics, but i shall show them to you later because i can't get them at this time.  But we can work with this  ^^

as for eyebrows.. at least in the DMC4 trailers i've seen.. Dante has dark eyebrows.. so we may just be able to work with that then since that's what we have anyway XD.

So you think you can get those guns then?  that'll be sweet.  Dante does sound like everything about him in the script will be kool. we'll see how things progress.

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

Yeah I think Dante's eyebrows need to stay darker, it looks weird if its white. I don't know much about Naruto, but I knew you were a fan, in that pic you had earlier I recognized the wristbands ( I'm observant, lol)

anyways, those guns EACH cost $220 at least...so I am not sure if I'll get them...especially since they would still need to be customized to look JUST like Ebony and Ivory. If I got those (which probably aren't even as oversized as the real deal) then I'd still need to get compensators and a rail extension, as well as grips that match Ebony and Ivory. Also I'd need to do some engraving or something to get the names and stuff on it. PLUS! I'd need to get a left handed slide for Ebony, because the one you saw was right handed...

all in all, I think I'd be better off customizing the one I have ( though the slide won't snap back when you fire it, the other ones do) or just getting the real replicas somewhere...don't know where though...

this is why getting a big shot producer and partnership with Capcom would be better! yeah...I dream big..but I already asked R.L. Scott who I should talk to

Gosh, I just want the darn movie to be perfect, I've got such a freaking awesome vision of it and it could be so awesome, the whole video game world would tremble! lol

aanyways, Vergil clothes will lean towards classy, therefore it will be somewhat traditional, but as you know he will be in disguise, so he need SOME modern clothing

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

    oh yeah, I almost forgot

How do you think I should explain the whole infinite ammo thing that Dante seems to have? The only weapons I am concerned about are Ebony and Ivory...the shotgun won't be used THAT much.

I was thinking that I could say he put a curse on the guns after he got them and that's why they have infinite ammo

    what do you think?

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

Alrighty... well as for infinte ammo descriptoin.. in the game it's because he created them.. that's why it's endless ammo.  In the book he does need to switch cartriges but he's so damn fast that you can't even see the movement to it.

Don't worry about completing the movie JUST yet...... once we get the approval and get someone to help us out (such as james or an actual proferssional producer) then we can start contemplating on how the movie wil really go out. The stage we're.... i'm sorry... i mena you're at.. this is your movie ^^, is basically creating the blue prints.  This is our point (the only reason i say "our" is because i'm trying to help... if you have a problem with this lemme know and i shal stop that... what ever you want bro).

Anyway.. i finally got the pics uploaded.. so check them out and tell me what you think  ^^  :

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

I don't mind, I'm just mapping everything out, its not official anyways (yet) so you can say that you are contributiong to the project, cuz well... you are! lol

those pics are pretty cool, and I see what you mean about the hair, it does have something about it and it is VERY similar to what Vergil's hair is like. When it is down it looks like Dante's and Dante's look the same as that in the front (maybe a tad shorter, but thats it) Plus, Gilver/Vergil would have major hat (or bandage) hair after taking the wrappings off if he didn't have his hair down

but we'll see where we go. I happen to be somewhat of an artist myself. I'll scan and upload some of my drawings ASAP

I just need to finish the coloring on Dante's coat (light touch up) and I'll actually draw my own face in for Dante's ( just to be funny)

I've also got some early close ups of Dante and Vergil ( they're heads and the collars of their outfits)

I'll try to get those in too

as for the guns and ammo...in the book ( and this version) the guns were made by Sparda ( Luce and Umbra) and Nell Goldstein sees one of Dante's only pictures of his father (where he has those guns) and decides to make them for him, but she can't read the names of the guns, so she names them after one of her favorite songs, "Ebony and Ivory", Dante comments "I'm sure they'll make music together" Goldstein is dying at this point, so he's a little emotional, and thats when he decides to embrace his true self and face his past by taking his true name...thus uncaging the powers he himself had kept inside ( no devil trigger yet, though)

    I thought of two options

1: Goldstein ( being told only a smidge of Tony/Dante's past, not including his name,) finds a book in his collection that has a curse for infinte ammo in guns, (she somments to him " I could have used this !") SHe uses it on Ebony and Ivory before she gives them to him

    2. GOldstein gives tony/DAnte the guns ( still with some knowledge of his past, and possibly even that curse) nd Dante places the curse ( or spell, w/e you want to call it) on the guns

    sounds neat to me
