ba! im 20, but games don't make people more violent. unless your violent to begin with, games don't do anythong. shooting with the "x" button is very diffrent I tell you!
lol Very true on that one Break. But I saw on a news channel, they were talking about shootings that happend in schools and stuff and said that videogames can effect some kids in a different way...but I DO think that parents are going too far on it saying that videogames is the root of all of the shootings and kids involved with "other" things...it's beyond our power on if it affects kids, but it won't effect me in that kind of way though...jeez.

But anyways, I agree with you Break, but alot of parents don't.

most parents who have those oppinions don't play any kind of videogames. they should see exactly what there children are doing. comeon, you'll prevent your kid from shooting fake people with fake guns with unrealalistic looking and amounts of blood pour out of the targets? I use to think games like dmc where evil, but if you take a closer look, they aren't all that bad.

...yet at the same time, some of these parents will alow there kids to talk to compleat strangers online without monitouring them. as a resolt, you have alot of kids visiting places they realy shouldn't be. im not talking about this fine comunity, but like porno stuff and things of that nature.

Yeah, agreed again. Don't some people meet strangers online and stuff on Myspace too? 'Cuz I never liked that site in the first place anyways...

My Space is EVIL!!! never liked it either.

Yeah I'm "officialy" old enough to play the games.  Though I did start when I was like 17...they never asked my age when buying them...didn't seem to care as long as the game was being sold... >_<

Just our of curiosity, seeing how we have allot of younger members here, does any of the older people sometimes think if stores started to take on a more straight selling of games and following ESRB ratings, that maybe Video Games wouldn't be getting such a hard rap?

I don't know, just when I hear guys like Jack Tompson it makes me think if when someone 14 went into buy a game that was 17+ and was asked for proof of age or something it would really help the gamers side of things... not that Jack Tompson is much of a threat, waging war against video games is like waging war against Television, you can make a good case sometimes but it would take much much much more than one doughebad like Tompson to get people to take him seriously.

yes and no. there would defenetly be less of a bad rap on games if the stores where more carefull about the ratings and giving them to yung children, but there are times that parent's alow there children to play these games. no mater what happens there will always be a rap on games...and music, and comics, and tv, and anything fun realy.

but the stores should defenetly step it up a little.

im suprised you even mentioned him...he HELPS video games...

"hey everyone! I hate games! im a total idiot that looks like a clown! if you kids don't play games, they'll look like me!"

I do think game stores should be more carefull abut the whole thing, but in the end, I think maby this is hurting .3% of children that get these games...if any at all.

Good point about Tompson. Wasn't he kicked off the case for discussing the private cort matters with reporters or contuct un-becoming of a lawyer or something like that?

You hate children!? I'm 14 years old! >:( lol No, just kidding, I kinda hate other kids too.

But yeah, I know what ya mean when you say that you're tired of all of the the parents' BSing, like I've been saying for a while now...."that's why all videogames have ratings! Also, if the kids get their parents to buy a 17+ rated game...then it's the parents' responsibility. If the kids steal the game....then it's just the kids' responsibility and no one elses".

    Dual of the demon children:
Break you see the same points I do and one way or another they will get it old enough or not

...no, that wasn't my point. I suppose I should have inforced my point alittle better...

the game stores AND the parents should be carefull. I think parents should watch there children play new games for a few minuts to see if it's realy something they'd like there child exposed to. there's no EXCUSE! so dmc has blood, so what? but there are other games that feature swearing and nudity that kids should be kept away from.

im sorry, a kid (below 13) will say anything he hears on tv or anything. I know a 12 year old that herd the "f" word and couldn't stop finding sentences to use it in. this isn't profesional or grown up kids! as for teens, well, that depends on the kid's up bringing...

nudity, well, on tv hey had this anime. a kid goes into a sotore house and sees this woman all beat up and...er...well, just not something for kids...

lol, good ol' Tompson, anything for a little publicidy...

with enemys like that, who needs friends?
