Everyone thinks they should play Dante. Early in this thread someone with the screen-name "Dantesgirl" said SHE should play Dante. Not impressed by suggestions like this.

Also, Dante is nothing like will smith. Or westley snipes. What is wrong with you people? It's like every actor who ever delivered a one-liner is a sho-in for the role when there is a lot more to Dante's character then just his confidence.

@ 2nd line: You make a valid point. It takes just a little common sense that Will Smith and Westly Snipes look absolutely nothing like Dante. Seriously!

For the love of all that is holy please read the thread before you post.

CGI movies are mind-bogglingly expensive. The budget for "Bourne Identity" was around 50 million. "The Incredibles" was 90 million.

The budget alloted to the DMC movie is 60 million, which makes CG impossible.

And the perfect Dante is Reuben Langdon. He was Dante in DMC3, he is the ONLY actor in the world with experence with the character, he looks the part, he has the attitude DOWN and DAMN can he ever move....

seriously people get way too opinionated about stuff like this, its exactly the same with the hitman movie, everyones like "vin diesel" but its obvious that jason stantham should play the part because he can pull it off, vin diesel is a big ***(from what ive heard, i dunno if its rumor) and oh yeah DANTE for president, Vergil for first lady XD

Ok, look.

There is no official word on the Devil May Cry movie.  We know that a japanese production company has the rights to it and that it's been assigned a tentative budget of $50 million but that's IT.

 There have been no formal announcements on the casting, the director, or anything else.

 So there.

Well actually there has. R.L. Scott is directing, Reuben has been supposedly announced as Dante, production started in February 2006 and two trailers have been released.

So not so so there.
