well, the script is done. Of course there is always room for some changes and/or additions, but I am very satisfied with it right now. I have yet to find a way to get it filmed, and the effects required for the project would cost a lot of money...now all I need is a major production studio to back me up...lol

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

    double post!

I had some more ideas and I have started writing the 4th movie (1st in terms of the games)

It is pretty darn good, I expand upon the games storyline. I'm giving Trish a more prominent role, and putting a reason behind Dante's feelings for her. I am also referencing parts from Dante's awakening, Blood vengeance (and its sequel) making the story deeper.

    here's a sample:

(The Dark sky stands in stark contrast to the light of the moon. The city lights drown out the stars, and one in particular catches the eye. A large neon sign that reads: “Devil may cry” lights up the front of a small building. Inside the buildings front doors lies a room filled with strange things; heads of creatures,  displayed like trophies. A lone man, with silver-white hair, sits at the front desk)

    (phone rings)

Dante: (picks up the phone) Devil may cry (pauses) sorry, we closed at 9 (hangs up) Damn…still no password

(Dante notices something out the glass doors. A woman speeds closer on a motorcycle. Dante smiles to himself, but the smile fades away after he realizes she isn’t slowing down. The motorcycle crashes through the glass and lands in the middle of the room. )

Dante: whoa! Slow down, babe  (Dante sits up) well, well…what do we have here? If nature calls, its in the back.

Trish: You’re the handy-man who can handle any dirty job, am I correct?

Dante: Almost…(takes his sword off the wall) I only take special jobs…if ya know what I mean?

Trish: You’re the man who lost a mother and a brother to evil twenty years ago…the son of the Dark knight Sparda?...Mr. Dante...hm, after such a loss, one would expect you to be looking for revenge.

Dante: The way I figure it,  in this business plenty of your kind come through that door. If I kill each one that comes, I should hit the jackpot sooner of later, don’t ya think?

    Trish: My kind?

Dante: yeah…Some hell –spawn gets too cocky for his own good, decides to take on the son of the Legendary Sparda…heh,  like they’ve got something to prove…take a look around (looks at the walls decorated with demonic heads) you want yours up there? (points his sword at her)

Trish: hmm…impressive…Then I suppose you should be used to this kind of thing (grabs the tip of his sword and sends a flood of electric power through it into Dante)

(the force of the attack sends Dante flying into his desk, which buckles under him and slams into the wall. Trish reverses the sword and throws it into Dantes chest. She continues to attack him with her demonic powers)

Trish: is this it? I expected more! Didn’t your daddy ever teach you how to use a sword? (she picks up her motorcycle and throws it at him. As the bike is flying at him, Dante speaks)

Dante: Sword? (chuckles) Time to go to work, guys (he draws Ebony and Ivory and sends out a volley of bullets that stop the bike and send it flying back towards trish. Trish jumps out of the way and slams to the ground. )

Dante: Even as a child I had powers, there’s demonic blood in me. (Dante pulls the sword out of his chest and stabs it into the floor) you were the first one to know of my avengeance….looks like I’m getting closer…(points Ivory at Trish)

Trish: It may seem that way, but I’m not your enemy…

Dante: Are you kidding me? You crash your bike through my door, you say you know about my mother's death, then you stab me, zap me, oh and my personal favorite, you throw your motorcycle at me…so if that doesn’t spell enemy, then what does?

    Trish: Mundus

    Dante: What?

Trish: The emperor of the demonic realm, the one who had your mother killed.

Dante: C’mon, gimme a break. Listen babe, I’ve done my homework I know who he is.

Trish: But I know where he is…

Dante: so do I,  rotting in Hell.

Trish: Mundus is preparing to enter this world, again. If he succeeds, he will wipe out all humanity…you need to stop him.

Dante: Where? Where is he planning to come through?

Trish: Mallet island (Trish’s face is hidden by her sunglasses, she takes them off with her back to Dante)

Dante: Great, now let me ask you something….who are you?

Trish: My name is trish (She turns around and Dante suddenly realizes that she looks just like his mother)

Dante: uh…you…(Dante picks up the picture of his mother and sets it on his pool table. ) How’re we getting there?

Trish: There’s a boat waiting in the harbor, east of here. Be there tomorrow, prepare for the worst.

    (Trish leaves)

Dante: O man, will I….(looks at the picture of his mother again)

    Scene

ok, I've done more, and its not perfect....

anyways, Blood vengeance is still just taking up space on my hard drive...its just waiting to be made

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

yeah sure, I'll keep you up to date. Its been slow going, mostly because I have nowhere to go. I was never expecting to get this movie made NOW, it was mostly just something to do in the future. Of course that won't keep me from trying to impress big name people who might find a way to get this made, I won't settle for anything less than theater quality here. I have such an image in my mind, I'd hate to see it ruined by low-budget effects, I rather only see it in my head than see it turn out looking crappy.

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

Well, I am writing a lot...My DMC1 script isn't finished, but I can always do a DMC3 script at the same time.

It'd be kind of interesting to figure out how to make the bosses fit in....wait, I've got it! Now, Dante doesn't need to know all the info on the bosses, but Arkham will be explaining it to Vergil.

(Vergil and Arkham are traveling along the underground path, Arkham staring into his book reading aloud while Vergil walks calmly in front of him.)

Arkham: -Thus shall the guardians of the Tem-in-ni-gru awaken, each one spawned in the darkest pits of hell....(Looks up from the book) It appears to me, that those who guard this tower will not awaken until the Tem-in-ni-gru is activated...We should not have any problems with them...

Vergil: It matters not, Arkham. We'll let Dante deal with those. If he cannot defeat them, then he is no match for me anyways.

(The two arrive at the entrance to the tower)

Arkham: The activation method is as I described before...it should be a simple matter for you. I shall go to his place..I believe I know where the item we seek is located (Arkham disappears into the darkness, his voice echoing) You should dispose of any obstacles quickly..."

You know the rest, but it'll flow from there. I should start that

    Not much happening here.

School never ended for me, I am rushing to finish my senior year. Lucky I'm homeschooled.

My writing is taking back seat while I finish.

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

Alright I haven't read the rest of the posts because I don't have the patience. Here's my take on it.

The first novel of Devil May Cry written by Shinya Goikeda CAN happen. That doesn't necissarily mean it did, but it can... given there are a few alterations. As someone who hopes to become a movie director in the future I've thought about doing this, but the primary problem is the fact that Dante uses Force Edge and Vergil takes the role of Nelo Angelo. If those two facts could be altered, then it could be used as a prequel to Devil May Cry 3, then 1, then 4, and so on. You wouldn't be getting rid of DMC3, you would actually be giving a much deeper backstory as to how DMC3 took place. As a matter of fact the line "It's been nearly a year since we last met..." quoted on mission 2, could be used as a transition for the two movies if you decided to move on with the series.

    Fix:

Switch out Force Edge with Rebellion

Take out the parts where Vergil is hinted at being a knight. (The scene where he leaves Goldstien's shop or where his armor protects him from Force Edge. There may be more...) Give him more of a "Vergil" feel and less of a "Nelo Angelo" feel.

Also fix the Yamato design. It's different from the one in DMC3.

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

That's exactly how I did it

except I also need to factor in the mangas, which are the event hinted at when Dante mentions its been a year since they last met.

everything else you said is right and is what I did. Yamato, however, has its hilt hidden. Because Dante would be familiar with it. Gilver's true identity is not revealed to Dante/Tony at the end, but at the end of the events in the Mangas.

scary though, because I've done almost exactly what you are saying.

The scene in Goldstein's shop goes like this: Gilver/Vergil shows up, gets the shotgun ( which would be an ace up his sleeve) he explains his dislike for guns, and his reluctancy to use the gun. He gives Goldstein a bunch of money, she looks down  for a second and sees its too much but when she looks up, Gilver/Vergil is gone. The door never opened and he was pretty far away from it.

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

Badass, but Dante might not recognize Yamato, merely because he and Vergil were seperated fairly early in their lives. Dante might not rocognize it. If you do change it. You'll somehow have to make it clear to the fans, because they'll be on you like white on rice if you give Vergil a foriegn sword we've never seen before. (Tryin' to save you from gettin' iced by DMC-crazed hitmen.)

The manga isn't really necessary either merely because the novel already serves as a prequel. It's an unnecary extra with no real accomplishment or merit... as far as fights. It may be somewhat boring due to the lack of things that occur. Plus it'd prbably save you an unneccessary year or two trying to record everything.

If I may, try keeping the Vergil's shadow in Goldstein's shop, but not the knight version give him wings like Sparda or something. It's a chilling scene in my book. Your idea works, this just gives your scene a different feeling.

Otherwise, I've only posted wit' ya twice and I already like ya. Cool. Got a buddy already.

I'm checkin' out. Pizzas for dinner... YES!! So many strawberry sundaes, so little time.
