Arashi jumped up,changing back into her human form and followed Vordan and the others, not wanting to be left behind, wanting to prove to them that she could fight and be an asset to the group. Quietly she walked behind Vordan, her sword at her side one hand on it's hilt, ready to fight at the first sign of danger as she quietly listened, her sensitive ears catching even the quietest sounds.

    Re: Devil's Exodus - RPG

"I once used to be in the service of Mundus. That was at the time he was operating in the living castle on Mallet Island. His actions were all stopped by Dante and he was sucked back into the demon world through a portal Dante created. While Dante made his way through that castle, I encountered him three times. Before the first time we encountered there, I was still sort of brainwashed by Mundus. But my own true conciousness was started to reboot after I saw his half of the amulet Sparda used to imprison his dangerously growing powers in. And all that time, the other half of that amulet hung around my own neck, having forgotten that it was a present given to us by our mother when the time was right. The name I am known by in most of the Two Worlds is Nelo Angelo, the Sapphire Flame, but only a few know my birthname, my name as a human. My name is Vergil, I am a son of Sparda as well and I am Dante's twinbrother. Mundus put me into the demonic prison for having failed him at Mallet Island. Being no longer brainwashed, I seek revenge for what he has done to me and my family, something you couldn't possibly understand. I will not rest untill every last bit of Mundus's filthy being is destroyed. And if you are the ones to stand in my or my brother's way, the souls of the three of you will be absorbed into mine. The choice to stand in my way or not is all up to you three" He told the three coldblooded, overwhelming them with surprise.

As he finished telling his story, he could sense the presence of his brother coming closer and closer. In the distance, he could see a small group of people running towards him, Shutendoji, Effrenus and Brutus. among them was a guy in a red trenchcoat shouting his name.

    Re: Devil's Exodus - RPG

"So that explains your exceptional power. It's been too long since I've had such a worthy opponent. Hold nothing back. I want to enjoy this battle as much as possible." replied Shutendoji as he cast off his red armored coat and further adjusted his stance. His dark, crimson aura expanding as he gathered the thousands of dead souls around them into himself, bringing his full power to bear. When the last of the souls was absorbed into him, a gigantic demonic flame erupted from his body, with his Crimson Malevolence flaring its own torrent of purple flames in response to its master.

As the ritual neared completion, a huge portal emerged from the circle of Brutus's Blades as they worked on it. "Good...it's almost done. And by the way, we seem to have some guests. I'll go entertain them." said Brutus as he casually walked away to meet the group that approached, bringing 6 legions of his Elite Blades with him and leaving the remaining 5 legions around the ritual area.

"So, you're another son of Sparda? Heh, perfect..." said Effrenus with a sadistic smile on his face. "PERFECT, NOW I CAN SLAY ALL MY ENEMIES AT ONCE!!!" he roared as he finished his transformation into his true form, his skin blackening as his outfit transformed into spikey demonic armor and his hair becoming pure electricity and flames. His wings fully extended and he leaped into the air and pointed Ignis and Fulgur towards the sky. The storm clouds above suddenly gathered together and changed into a golden color, caught under Effrenus's mighty powers.

"Unfortunately, my anxious friend here wishes to join in. I acknowledge the obvious fact that you possess great power, but it's now 2 on 1. What will you....huh?" said Shutendoji when a strange gale of wind blew, bringing with it a large mass of flower petals. They then lowered to near the ground and formed into a large orb, it swirled faster and faster as bolts of energy crackled around it until it suddenly dispersed. Revealing Katsuou as he dropped to the ground with Soul Shrine and Eversor at the ready.

"Shutendoji! This is the hour of your.....what? Wasn't Shutendoji an oni lord?" said Katsuou, baffled at Shutendoji's appearance. "So it's true, you really did possess Crimson King, didn't you?" said the voice of Raikoh, only this time he spoke from Katsuou's mouth.

"So you've finally arrived Minamoto. Yes, when you defeated Crimson King and left him for dead, I saw my opportunity and possessed him. Then I raided the Imperial Armory and stole Orchid Malevolence to create THIS! *lifts up Crimson Malevolence* I've waited for over a millennium for this! Now it's 2 on 2!" shouted Shutendoji.

"You stay out of this." snapped Vergil.

"Forgive me, but it is my duty to slay that demon and aid the sons of Sparda and those who rally around them." replied Raikoh in unison with Katsuou's voice. "Be wary, that demon is extremely formidable now that he has the combined might of Shutendoji and Crimson King. I know him well, all frontal attacks on him are useless and that sword of his can further attack you if even one cut is inflicted." advised Raikoh. "* Katsuou, this is a battle that will require the might of a full Immortal Warrior with all the power of the Minamoto clan. Sync your ki flow with mine and unite our souls. For this battle, we fight as one.*" said Raikoh to Katsuou in his mind. Suddenly, Katsuou's skin turned white, his outfit transformed into blessed armor, and a massive white aura shined from his body.

Vergil gazed intently at Katsuou, contemplating for a moment. "My patience wears extremely thin, but fine, just for this battle." said Vergil as he turned toward Shutendoji and Effrenus. "But if you get in my way, I won't hesitate to cut you down."

    "Agreed." Raikoh/Katsuou responded.

"ENOUGH TALK, PREPARE YOURSELF!!!" shouted Shutendoji. In a split second, a bolt of lightning struck down, and the 2 opposing sides charged.

    Re: Devil's Exodus - RPG

As the 4 titanic powers clashed behind him, Brutus continued his casual stroll towards the distant group. Before they completely came into sight, Brutus ordered all 6 of his Elite Blade legions to burrow underground and continue following him. When Dante and his comrades arrived they slid to a halt, Brutus stood before them with his hands in his pockets, almost carefree of the fact that a son of Sparda was directly in front of him.

"Hey buddy, shouldn't you be scurrying off to an executive meeting?" said Dante, pointing Ebony at Brutus. Brutus simply broke out in a fit of maniacal laughter.

"Yes, maybe I did choose something too stuffy to wear. But don't you know? It's a host's responsibility to properly greet his guests." said Brutus as his looked at all the members of Dante's group, analyzing each individual's power, formulating possible strategies, and searching for a good first victim. Then Brutus, being the sick coward that he is, fixed his gaze on Lady, targeting her first. His eyes began to glow with a rotten green light, staring intently at Lady until she made the grave mistake of looking him in the eyes. Suddenly, everything around her went dark. She then noticed that Dante and the others had vanished and that she was, for some reason, a little girl again. She found herself inside her old house's basement and, after a few minutes of wandering, she opened an old creaky door and made a shocking discovery. Her mother appeared before her, tied down to a demonic altar. "Mary! Help me!" cried her mother. "Mama!" shouted Lady. Before she could act, a younger, unscarred version of Arkham walked out from the shadows, holding a jagged ritual knife in his hands. He walked over to his helpless wife, chanting in an ancient, forbidden language. Lady tried to move but some invisible force held her down, leaving her helpless to watch in horror. "Mary! Please! Save me!" begged her mother. Arkham then stood towering over his wife, with the ritual knife raised in the air. "NOOOOOOO!!!!" cried Lady before the knife plunged down into her mother's heart. Suddenly, the altar and Arkham became enveloped in dark purple fire, all while Arkham was cackling with insane laughter. His voice then changed into a horribly familiar voice. Jester then emerged from the fire, holding the bloody ritual knife in hand, and began walking towards Lady. In an instant, he disappeared from her view and reappeared behind her, holding the bloody knife in front of her face. He then whispered into her ear, "It's bedtime, my dear Mary..."

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!" screamed Lady as fell to her knees, holding her head in pain. Dante and the others quickly turned, startled by the sudden horrific scream. "Lady!" Dante yelled. "Lady, what's wrong?" asked Arashi as she rushed over to Lady and caught her by her shoulders, trying her best to comfort Lady. "What did you do to her?!" Dante demanded as he pointed Ivory at Brutus's head. "Oh nothing much, her expression was just a little too dull so I-" Brutus responded before he moved his head out of the way, dodging 3 rounds fired from Ivory. While he talked, Lady began whimpering in a quiet tone and tears began streaming down her face. "Unfortunately, she won't be able to enjoy the 'festivities' with us." said Brutus before Lady lost consciousness and slumped over in Arashi's arms. "You picked the wrong people to piss off." said Dante as he holstered Ebony and Ivory and drew Agni and Rudra. "Oh don't worry, you'll experience the same thing.....welcome to the party." Brutus hissed. He then snapped his fingers and 2 legions of his Elite Blades burst from the ground and surrounded Dante's group. With a determined, serious look on his face, Dante simply said,

    "It's Showtime..."

    Re: Devil's Exodus - RPG

Dante and his companions looked around at the massed hordes of Blades. Dante merely smiled and twirled Agni and Rudra in his hands.

"Blades? Is this the best you can come up with!?" Dante mocked. The creatures advanced menacingly, and Dante and his warriors took battle stances, preparing for one hell of a party. Before the Blades struck, however, the air was shaken by a familiar roar.

Lucifer and Lilith burst onto the scene, and riding them, the ever-present Kralast and Tolona. Only this time, they had passengers. The rest of Devil May Cry HQ was riding with them; Gorrath, Lucia, Van Helsing, Ghost Rider, they were all there, and the wyverns were having no trouble with the extra weight. As they glided in, their cargo jumped off. One by one, they hit the floor and walked towards Brutus, drawing their weapons. Dante looked at his unexpected reinforcements, looked back at Brutus, and smiled. If Brutus was worried, he was trying hard not to show it. One minute ago, Dante would have had a fight on his hands. Now, the Blades would be like pigs in a slaughterhouse. "Ladies and gentlemen-" The warriors took battle stances -"let's ROCK!!"

Arashi grinned as she drew her sword, and started chanting a spell, her sword starting to glow a light blue color and her eyes glowing bright red as she focused on the Blade's, ignoring the new comers as she prepared herself for the fight ahead. Suddenly she charged one of the Blades, running it through with her sword, it's blood splattering all over her body and face.

    Re: Devil's Exodus - RPG

The impaled Blade, caught off guard by the sudden attack, looked down at the one that slew it. It let out a gurgling snarl, and tried, with the last of its strength, to take one last swing. Arashi responded by pulling out the sword and swung it in a 360degree arc, beheading the Blade. For a moment, a look of surprise managed to break through Brutus's facade before he suppressed it and attempted to regain his composure. "Damn, these guys are good, but they have no idea of the amount of aces I have up my sleeve." Brutus thought to himself. Dante then dashed towards Brutus and slashed at him with a pincer-like attack from Agni and Rudra. Brutus, using his high level speed, leaped out of the way and dashed towards the back of the mass of his Elite Blades.

"What's the matter?! Chickening out already?!" taunted Dante.

"A good host does not join in the party until his guests are properly 'accommodated.'" Brutus retorted. "Mere Blades you say? No, these are no mere Blades, these ARE MY BLADES!!!" shouted Brutus, his eyes glowing with an even brighter green light. His Elite Blades responded by banging their weapons on their shields and shouted a deafening battle cry that shook the ground. "My Blades,  form up!" Brutus ordered. The Blades backed up a little, away from the blood-soaked Arashi, and responded accordingly, with the most heavily armored Blades equipped with long heavy spears marching towards the front, engaging their shields, and entering a type of phalanx formation. "Advance and KILL!!!" hissed Brutus. The newly formed phalanx that was the 2 legions of Blades continued their marched forward with renewed demonic vigor, almost as if under a spell.

"Bring it on!!!" shouted Dante as he led his comrades in a counter charge, leaping into the ranks of the Blades. Dante and his comrades were fighting ferociously, unleashing flurries of blades, bullets, and magic. Only one thing seemed strange, the Blades were not falling as quickly as he had anticipated and were putting up a surprising amount of resistance, fighting almost as equally fierce and attacking with astonishing coordination; fighting with even more fury, skill, and endurance than even Hell Vanguards. "Damnit, just die already!" Dante shouted as he caught 2 Blades in the chests with a deadly double stinger from Agni & Rudra. The 2 Blades snarled in defiance and attempted to spit blood crystals at Dante before he leaped up into the air and finished them off with a blinding rainstorm from Ebony & Ivory.

"These Blades form one of the mightiest and most feared armies in both worlds! They are all extremely well-trained and, with my influential illusion powers, are perfectly coordinated under my will! They were created from the very souls of the ancient Spartan warriors! They-" Brutus ranted before being interrupted by Dante.

"Just SHUT THE HELL UP!!! I hate it when people talk more than me!" Dante yelled as he caught an unlucky group of Blades in a deadly Twister-Tempest from Agni & Rudra. "YOU DARE TO DESECRATE THE HONORABLE WARRIORS OF SPARTA?! YOU WILL PAY!!!!" roared Ares, suddenly an aura of blue energy surrounded his body and took the form of Greek armor. Then he and a few other nearby comrades proceeded to cut a large bloody swath through the hoard of Blades. Arashi was a blood-soaked blur, leaping between the mobs of Blades and cutting down any that attempted to finish off Lady as she laid on the ground, incapacitated from Brutus's earlier attack. Then Lucifer and Lilith circled around for an attack run on any unengaged Blades.

"Those wyverns are gonna be very troublesome for me, but they won't present a threat after this!" thought Brutus before snapping his fingers. Another legion of Elite Blades burst from the ground behind him. "Archers!" Brutus called. Half of the legion responded by regurgitating small pools of blood, the blood then crystallized to form 9foot longbows and quivers full of arrows with spiral bodkin heads.  "Ballistas!" Brutus called again. The other half of the legion formed a massive circle and regurgitated a small lake of blood. The blood then reformed to create hundreds of large, menacing ballistas and the half legion of Blades that formed them rushed into their positions to man the newly created ballistas. "Blades ready! FIRE!!!" Brutus shouted. 6,000 bows twanged and 1800 ballistas roared in response to Brutus's order, blackening the sky with a sheer mass of longbow and ballista arrows. Lucifer and Lilith immediately pulled up from their attack run and responded by breathing a large gale of green fire, melting as many arrows as they can. A few lucky shots flew through the hail of fire and punctured the tough skin of the wyverns. The wyverns roared in defiance and dived towards the new threat until another volley came their way. Kralast and Tolona had the wyverns pull up from the dive and barrel-rolled out of the way, dodging the mass of arrows this time. "At least that will keep that problem out of the way." said Brutus, ordering the archers and ballistas to continue their volleys. He then let out a loud whistle, 2 more legions burst from the ground, formed into phalanxes, and surrounded the chaotic blood-fest, leaving the last legion burrowed underground. The 2 fresh legions then slowly advanced towards the fray as the numbers of the already engaged Blades were thinning.

Meanwhile, in the ritual area far behind the battle, the portal stabilized and expanded, revealing glimpses of the horror that was Hell. "Ah, my friends have finally arrive." remarked Brutus. Another larger army began to emerge from the massive portal, with Elite, heavily armored Blade Frosts (remember those guys too?) at the front and silhouettes of various other monstrosities hidden in the background of the portal. The new army started to join the 5 legions that Brutus left behind to guard the ritual area. Brutus then cracked a sadistic grin and laughed with an insane tone. "HAHAHAHA!!! What will you do now, Son of Sparda? No matter how strong you are, the odds are against you! It's over!!!" shouted Brutus.

Dante took down another unfortunate group of Blades with a deadly million slash barrage before responding,"Heh! It doesn't matter how many you throw at me! You could send every damned demon in Hell at me and it wouldn't make a difference!" Sparks of devil energy crackled around Dante's body and he began to emit a familiar red aura. "Over? This party's just gettin started!"

...Far beyond the ritual area, the Earth rumbled and quaked, like the ground itself was afraid, as the mighty (and badassed!) Vergil aided by Raikoh/Katsuou continued their epic clash with the sinister Shutendoji and enraged Effrenus.

    Re: Devil's Exodus - RPG

Vergil was fighting Effrenus and Raikoh/Katsuou battled Shutendoji. Effrenus had really gone mad in his rage. His battle axes roared every time they hit Vergil's transformed Yamato. The blue shadowfire coming from Vergil competed well against Effrenus's Fire and Lightning combos. Suddenly, Vergil charged a big ball of blue fire with his left hand and fired it at Effrenus. The burning orb exploded upon contact and blew Effrenus into the air. Vergil noticed the Blade legions that were gonna launch an anti-air-attack on the wyverns and summoned all of his Infested Tanks and his Infested Choppers to deal with them. All of the demonic vehicles went in range of the archers and the ballista's and opened fire. The Elite Blades didn't know what to expect from this (still thinking as ancient Spartans) and just sat there as a result of both the orders of their master and the fear for the things they had never seen before. The "ranged" Blades were taken down in a series of explosions. The crystallised blood they had left behind was drawn near by Vergil and channelled into his Yamato again. As this was done, the Infested military vessels returned to the demon world, back to their base.

Brutus was blown away by this act andteleported himself alongside Effrenus to fight against Vergil, being so angry about destroying 2 of his 6 legions so fast. Dante DevilTriggered and rushed towards Vergil. "Hey brother, let's take these wimps down!" said Dante with a grin. "You got that right!" said Vergil, grinning as well.

    Re: Devil's Exodus - RPG

Is it alright to add 2 more villains to the mix? I was thinking of adding them through the "ritual portal."

    Here they are:

     Name: Pascicor

    Age: 2200 Years

    Race: Demon

Physical Description: (Human form) Short brown hair with a blueish tint. 6foot4. Dark blue eyes. Medium build. Wears cleric-like hooded robes, brown tunic, tan pants, and brown boots. (Demon form) His skin becomes brown armored scales, he heightens to 7feet, grows 2 horns from his head, spikes extend from his shoulders, and he gains a tan-like aura with crackling energy flowing from his body.

Personality: Serious to a fault, all business, cold to others (except his younger brother), intelligence matching that of Brutus's, dedicated to his missions, but very loyal to allies and is brutally honest.

Skills/Abilities: He possesses the power of telepathy. Able to read the minds of others, allowing him to predict their movements and making him extremely lethal in combat. He has very good speed, possesses powerful flight abilities due to his telepathy, is able to manipulate objects weighing 10 and a half tons in his human form, can talk to others mentally over any distance, very skilled with his staff/battle spear and his chakrams (circular disk weapons). He uses his chakrams as a form of defense and a little offense, manipulating them so they float around his body and deflect attacks or launching them at enemies. His demon form further increases his base speed and mental powers, allowing him to lift up to 80 tons with his mind and fly at extreme speeds.

Strengths: Is nearly unrivaled in intelligence, with only Brutus and a few others matching his intellect. Is also very resourceful and observant. Uses his mind-reading ability to his advantage. Works well with his brother (more info below) and possesses an even larger, more capable army than Brutus's.

Weaknesses: He is not considered physically strong in "demonic" terms, forcing him to use his telekinesis to back any melee attacks he might use, although he is usually a ranged type. His endurance ranks only barely above Brutus's, leaving him very susceptible to melee damage. Surprisingly, he is not as good a strategist as others think he would be, forcing him to rely on his mind-reading abilities instead.

Weapons: Discordia: An 11foot demonic staff with a razor-sharp black crystal, allowing it to also be used as a battle spear. It constantly emits a dark brown aura and further augments Pascicor's telepathic powers.  Animus & Corpus: twin large chakrams that possess minor demonic flame abilities. They also serve to augment Pascicor's powers.  Pascicor also possesses numerous other small chakrams in his arsenal for combat purposes.

Background: Out of the many allies that Brutus chose to betray, Pascicor was the only one (other than Pascicor's brother Algeo) who Brutus didn't betray. Pascicor was probably the only one Brutus truly regarded as a "friend" because of their mutual respect and admiration for each other's intelligence. Pascicor and his brother had served Mundus a few times in the past, though it was strictly business, and were also contacted by Mundus 2000 years after Sparda's rebellion. At the time, Pascicor, his brother, and their army had just finished a minor campaign in hell and required some time to recover and reorganize. Brutus, Effrenus, and Shutendoji, being as anxious as they were, decided to advance first, saying that they were only going to "scout out the enemy" (yeah right!). Now that Pascicor and his brother were fully refreshed, they began to move on towards the human world until Brutus (confronted by Vergil and anticipating the arrival of the DMC forces) had opened a portal for them with a hasty ritual.

    Name: Algeo (Pascicor's brother)

    Age: 2199 years

    Race: Demon

Physical description: (Human form) Almost identical to his brother except Algeo has shoulder length wavy hair, a slightly more muscular build, is 2 in. shorter, and has a more apparent blueish tint in his hair. Wears a short, blue jacket, white t-shirt, black jeans, and black armored boots. (Demon form) Like his brother's except his armored scales are blue, he heightens to 6foot8, grows only one horn, and has a blue aura with more crackling energy emitted from his body.

Personality: Unlike his brother, he is carefree, tolerant, and very enthusiastic. He looks up to his brother and is blindingly loyal to him and becomes serious if his brother tells him to.

Skills/Abilities: He possesses powers of ice that are even greater than those of Cerberus. He also possesses S level strength and endurance in his human form, only being rivaled by Shutendoji in terms of raw physical strength and endurance. He uses his ice powers to his advantage, forming tough ice armor that is 3x as tough as Cerberus's, launching ice projectiles that weigh up to 10 tons, being able to freeze anything (even Fire if there is any trace of moisture in the air), and augmenting his melee attacks (both unarmed and armed) with his ice powers. In demon form, all his powers are magnified by 10 times and his strength and endurance are also greatly increased. His demon form also gives him the ability to absorb water and moisture from the air to regenerate his wounds and stamina, materialize ice at any range, and launch freezing wind attacks.

Strengths: Unlike his brother, he is a very good tactician and inspires great morale in their army. He works well in tandem with his brother and utilizes his brother's mental powers to gain tactical advantage. He is also very resourceful with his powers and has fairly good reflexes. He is well versed in hand to hand combat.

Weaknesses: As he is incredibly powerful in terms of physical strength and endurance, he incredibly lacks in terms of speed. He is considered very slow in "demonic" standards, leaving him very vulnerable to quick-footed opponents. His affinity towards ice also leaves him almost helpless to fire-based attacks.

Weapon: Glacialis- a 7 foot, ornate claymore that has an icy blue blade. It constantly emits a blue aura and slowly freezes whatever it hits/cuts. The air around it is chilled and filled with small ice crystals resulting from frozen moisture. It also further augments Algeo's powers of ice.  Robur- a pair of armored gauntlets that further increase Algeo's strength and ice powers.

Background: Ever since birth, Algeo has always followed his brother and always looked up to him. Algeo always thought about helping his brother and even gave his brother a demonic army for one of his "birthdays," the army that would become the base for the massive force they had accumulated up to this day. Even now, he follows his brother as they march towards the portal to the human world, eager to prove his worth yet again towards his brother.

So then, is it ok with you guys?

    Re: Devil's Exodus - RPG

[Hell yeah, more villains. I likey.]

With the anti-air Blades eliminated, Lucifer and Lilith could finally get back into the fight, and were more than eager to do so, giving two ear-splitting roars before diving at a legion and tearing huge gashes in their ranks. Staying low to the ground, they landed, Kralast and Tolona dismounted, and the four could now maximise their offensive power; Kralast drew his sword, Tolona prepared her bowgun, and their wyverns charged into the massed hordes of Blades, their riders running in after them. They beat back the Blades until they reached Dante and Vergil, and as they joined the titanic battle the sons of Sparda were in, Kralast shouted to Dante,

"Don't worry, I have friends on the way!"

No sooner had he said that than the friends arrived.

The battle, as it stood, was big. There was no other way to describe it. The enormous mass of wyverns soaring through the air was about to make it a whole lot bigger.

8 Rath wyverns, 4 of each sex, 10 small, pink wyverns called Yian Kut-Ku, the scales and hide of which made Tolona's armour, 6 larger, more powerful versions called Yian Garuga, and the largest of the group, three huge dragons called Fatalis. Two were milky white, and the other one, the leader, was deep crimson. The ground shook like a scale-6 earthquake, and 6 huge, horned wyverns called Diablos burst out onto the surface.  Of course, they weren't here of their own accord; every single wyvern had a rider. The Diablos riders dismounted from a Garuga in mid-air and landed on their wyverns. The Rath wyverns bombarded the legions of Blades with fireballs from the sky.

Brutus was genuinely worried now. Through the portal came masses of reinforcements, summoned by him to aid his Blades. Dante and Vergil looked at each other, and their eyes did the talking.

"Fall back!!" shouted Dante. There were far too many warriors to cram into this relatively small space. They'd have to draw the fight out into the city. The heroes of Devil May Cry all started disengaging and running out into the city, splitting into groups. The wyverns all spread out as well, and the Diablos, which were flightless, stayed for a while to beat back the Blades and give the others a little room to breath. Kralast and Tolona mounted their wyverns, Lucifer grabbed the unconscious Lady carefully in his mouth, and the two took off. Dante and Vergil hitched a ride on a Garuga and soared out into the city.

Are you ready for the changes?

    Re: Devil's Exodus - RPG

As they soared through the air, Dante got an idea. He threw Ivory at Vergil and shouted "Hey Verg, if we channeled our power into the gun we hold and fired a Jackpot at the portal, it will most propably shut it down for good and if we are lucky, some of their reinforcements will die from the blast as well". Vergil replied with "I wouldn't have it any other way, brother!".

They both transformed and called upon a strong amount of demonic energy, went flying right next to eachother, did their old move, channeled the charged power into the guns and upon pulling the triggers they shouted as one "JACKPOT!".

The beams of energy merged and fully hit the boundaries of the portal. The blast was devastating. A fair amount of the demonic beings allready outside were killed, even some that were still on the other side and as the portal closed, the demons that were stepping through were cut in half or got stuck between the two worlds.

Vergil gave Ivory back to his brother and said "Well done brother, well done!". Dante replied with "Thanks but you can leave the compliments for later, at least half of that reinforcement army had stepped through the portal before we closed it and even that half is twice as big as that Blade army if it were still complete. This party is far from over. LET'S ROCK!".

    Re: Devil's Exodus - RPG

The fighting between good and evil grew more intense by the minute. Brutus noticed the arrival of a small swarm of wyverns as well as the arrival of Pascicor's forces. "Great, if this keeps up, there won't be enough room for anybody to even lift a blade." Brutus thought to himself. Suddenly, he heard Dante shouting an order to retreat and the forces of DMC immediately disengaged and ran into the city. "At least the sons of Sparda know when a fight is going to become too much of a hassle for either side." Brutus thought again.

Suddenly, out of nowhere. Two large shafts of light, one being red while the other being blue shot the edges of the portal. Immediately, the portal forcibly shut itself, taking out a large number of the forces near the portal. Then, as suddenly as the portal shut, another, larger one opened in its place, on the other side was the image of Mundus's 3 evil eyes. "I will not allow you to impede my invasion, sons of Sparda! Don't forget, I'm the master of Hell now! I can form any number of portals I wish at any time! It's useless! HAHAHAHA-" before Mundus could continue laughing, another 2 shafts of red and blue light shot at the portal, this time striking at the center, going through the portal, and hitting Mundus on the other side. "Curse you sons of Sparda! I WILL get my vengeance!" shouted Mundus before his image disappeared and the portal shrunk to less than half its size. In the distance, Dante howled with laughter while Vergil struggled to stifle his own laughter.

Shutendoji noticed the retreat as well and, thinking of taking the advantage of another environment ripe with souls, locked blades with Raikoh/Katsuou and said,"Let's take this fight to a more...suitable area." Immediately, he broke the lock and leaped towards the city with the Minamoto warrior in close pursuit.

Effrenus then regained his composure, spitting a globule of sizzling blood in the process. Brutus then saw Pascicor and his brother Algeo finally emerge from the portal. "DON'T YOU DARE RUN FROM ME!!! YOU COWARDLY DOGS!!!" cried Effrenus as he started to fly in pursuit of his quarry. Suddenly, a brown aura surrounded his body and Effrenus was instantly stopped, caught in some kind of telekinetic grip. Effrenus struggled at first before, for some reason, calming down and allowing himself to be lowered to the ground while reverting back to his human form. Brutus immediately recognized his old friend's powers and "thought" as loud as he could hoping that Pascicor would "hear" him. "It's good to see that you finally made it to the party. What exactly did you do to calm down Effrenus and why did you stop him?" thought Brutus.

"I merely told him that I had a much quicker way for him to pursue his enemies. Mundus apparently took advantage of the DMC forces' absence. When the sons of Sparda and their comrades return to the city, they'll find that the human forces there will be in very short supply while the demons there will be in a very, very... ample supply. They'll even find that many of the buildings have decided to join in on the the madness." said Pascicor's familiar voice in Brutus's mind.

"You might want to tell Mundus that he might have another rebellion in hell on his hands. Vergil, another son of Sparda, has got his hands on Infestant demons and has them positioned in hell." replied Brutus's thoughts.

"Yes, Mundus has decided to personally deal with the matter. He intercepted the Infestant traitors as they were on the way back to their base and convinced them to come back to our side. They will be in my force with internal bombs placed in them, should they ever try to change their minds again. Mundus has also announced a change in plans, he has amassed huge demonic armies around the city as well as in the city during your fight with the forces of the sons of Sparda. You are to enter the portal that I came from and use the portals that Mundus has prepared for you and Effrenus. You and your Blades will aid the invasion force to the East of the city while Effrenus leads the invasion force on the West. My brother, I, and our army will continue the attack from here, the northern side. And before I forget, take this dagger and stab it into the core of your being. Mundus decided to restrict the ability to open portals to and from hell to just those who possess these daggers. Don't worry, all the dagger will do is merge with your soul to allow you to open portals to and from hell and if in the unlikely scenario that you are defeated, will separate from your soul and disintegrate, rendering it useless." Pascicor explained through his thoughts as he sent a portal dagger to Brutus and Effrenus, both complying by stabbing the daggers into their hearts and merging with the daggers.

"What about the South?" asked Brutus's thoughts. "Take a look at this..." replied Pascicor as he relayed a series of mental images to Brutus's mind. To the south of the city, Brutus saw an enormous force of demons that was by far the largest out of the 4 that surrounded the city. At the front were, much to Brutus's amazement, what looked like 3 Despairs Embodied (last boss from DMC2). "They took quite a while, but Mundus had somehow managed to create 3 fully functional clones from the remains of the Despair Embodied." explained Pascicor. "Alright then, let's get this started." replied Brutus as he gathered the remnants of his Blades and started to march towards the portal with Effrenus. He then noticed 2 legions of heavily armored Elite Blade Frosts equipped with long staffs/battle spears and tower shields breaking from the main group and following him. "I'm going to have 2 legions of my most powerful and capable Frost Battlemages accompanying you and Effrenus each. They are very tough and should be of great help against those wyverns." explained Pascicor. "Thanks for the...present. Effrenus and I will await your signal to attack." replied Brutus as he, Effrenus, and his forces stepped through the portal.

"This is so exciting! I can't wait to start this party!" cheered Algeo. "Settle down brother and take this seriously, it's going to take a while to build up our forces because of that earlier...incident." said Pascicor. "I know, I know." replied Algeo. "Once all our forces have completely emerged from the portal and have assembled, I'll give the telepathic signal to the surrounding forces to attack the city while the forces of the sons of Sparda are preoccupied with the demonic hoards that are already in the city." explained Pascicor.

Observing the increased chaos that ensued in the city, Pascicor let out a small sigh. "Looks like we're in for one long, wild battle, brother." he said. "I know..." replied Algeo as their forces continued to slowly pour out of the small portal.

    Re: Devil's Exodus - RPG

As they sat on their wyvern, Dante looked at the demonic legions that were about to surround the city. Dante said "Vergil, didn't you have that army of demons of your own? I would feel safer if they were here as well". Vergil replied "Yeah, I think it would be better to call upon them now". Vergil opened a series of portals above the rooftops of the buildings. Vregil's army jumped through them and landed on the rooftops. On the roof closest to the two brothers, Vergil's lieutenants were gathered. Vergil and Dante landed on the roof to discuss things with the demonic lieutenants.

Vergil asked Bolverk what the status of the army was now. Looking at Dante first with his one, hellish eye he turned to his master and replied with a rather silent voice "The amount of warriors we have since you left has been trippled by now. But there is one bad thing about it. The Infested military vessels you summoned for a while has been intercepted by Mundus upon their return to our base. They are no longer on our side. Only the submarines are left". "Very well, master of wolves, that's a pity, but the amount of warriors we have now makes up to that" said Vergil. Suddenly Vergil turned to Dante and asked him "Brother, do you still have all of the weapons you've collected on our adventure at the Temen-Ni-Gru?". "Yeah, I still got them. Why?" answered Dante. "I know a ritual we can use to bring the mighty souls in those weapons back to life and come to our aid" replied Vergil.

Dante said "Let's go get those weapons then!" said Dante with a grin.

    Re: Devil's Exodus - RPG

Night began to set in while the chaos continued in the city...
As Shutendoji leaped into the city and began to travel across the rooftops towards the the downtown area, Raikoh/Katsuou continued the pursuit, chasing after Shutendoji while hounding him with shots from Eversor. "It's useless! To my eye, those bullets are traveling at a slug's pace!" taunted Shutendoji as he continued to deflect the heavy rounds from Eversor. After a few minutes of hectic chasing, they arrived at the downtown area of the city; where a battered company of soldiers and their lone tank continued their desperate struggle against the fresh hoards of demons that infested the city during the absence of the DMC forces. Bodies, both human and demon, piled everywhere and the gutters of the streets literally ran red from the blood of the countless casualties. The soldiers had retreated to a fortified position in front of a large gun shop, hiding behind walls consisting of demon bodies. At the the back of their lines was the apparent commanding officer, a slim, red-haired man who bore the dual connected bars of an army Captain on his ruffled collar.

"You WILL hold the line! There will be no retreat for us! This is where we make our stand, comrades!" the captain shouted, making an attempt to bolster his company's morale, although it was no use; many troops among the company simply sat cowering in fear, having given up all hope. Shutendoji looked around, smiling widely as he observed the massed carnage around him. He then stopped on top of a destroyed tank and lifted Crimson Malevolence to the sky.

"Damn, we have to keep him from absorbing the souls of those who fell in battle!" yelled Raikoh's voice in Katsuou's mind. "You don't have to shout!" replied Katsuou. The Minamoto warrior leaped forward and attempted to take a quick swipe at Shutendoji. But the attack was effortlessly blocked.

"How many times must I tell you? All frontal attacks ARE USELESS!" shouted Shutendoji before he parried another attack from Raikoh/Katsuou and knocked the Minamoto warrior back a far distance with a strong roundhouse kick. The attack flung Raikoh/Katsuou through the demonic masses, knocking down hundreds of demons in the process until he was stopped by the wreckage of an APC. "Damn! That.......didn't hurt?!" Katsuou shouted in amazement, discovering that he felt no pain from the attack. "You might not feel the pain but the damage is still there. Try not to get hit again, if you sustain too much damage the unity between our souls will break and your will forcefully revert back to normal form, leaving you drained and helpless before Shutendoji." warned Raikoh. "Yeah, I realized that judging from the way my arm is dangling." Katsuou sarcastically replied as he noisily popped his dislocated arm back into place. In the distance, Shutendoji raised Crimson Malevolence to the sky again, a dark aura began to emanate from it as small orbs of light began to appear above the countless bodies in the area. Suddenly, all th orbs rushed into Shutendoji and the demonic flame surrounding his body instantly swelled to a monstrous size and glowed so bright, it illuminated the entire area with its evil light. "Take THIS!!!" roared Shutendoji as he pointed Crimson Malevolence towards Raikoh/Katsuou and materialized a building-sized ball of demonic flame. "Oh Shi-" Katsuou was about to say before the enormous fireball launched from Crimson Malevolence, incinerating everything in its path. "To the sky!!!" shouted Raikoh's voice as Raikoh/Katsuou flew high into the air with a powered up Spirit Dash, reaching safety in the air above the downtown buildings. After charging through 10 blocks of the city street, the massive fireball erupted in a titanic explosion, leveling all buildings near it and taking out any demon or human unfortunate enough to be caught in the blast radius. When the smoke cleared, Raikoh/Katsuou noticed that the fireball had taken out a large chunk of the demon force in the downtown area. Suddenly, a small fireball from out of nowhere struck Raikoh/Katsuou in the back and the Minamoto warrior fell into a pile of rubble that once was a building. "Damn..." cursed Katsuou. "I've got an idea, we must lead Shutendoji towards the ruins of Temen-Ni-Gru and trap him with an Area-Sealing Spell of Soryu magic. He won't be able to get out since beings with an affinity towards the House of Suzaku are weak against Soryu magic and if he's cut off from all the other souls in the city, we might have a chance." Raikoh explained to Katsuou in his mind. "Sounds like plan..." replied Katsuou.

Shutendoji howled with laughter, becoming near-insane with power. He then noticed Raikoh/Katsuou emerge from the rubble. The Minamoto warrior smiled and gave Shutendoji the good ol' 1 fingered salute before leaping off in the direction of the ruins of Temen-Ni-Gru. "I strike him out of the air and he still has the nerve to mock me?! You won't get away with that, Minamoto!" Shutendoji shouted before jumping onto a nearby intact rooftop and commencing the pursuit of his enemy.

On the streets below, having taken cover in the gunshop and other buildings that were far away from the fireball's explosion, the captain and the remnants of his company emerged from their cover. The band of humans looked in amazement at the destruction caused by the gigantic fireball. Taking advantage of the lapse in the enemy's numbers, the captain immediately started to rally his forces. "Alright comrades! Tonight, we take back our city! Tonight, we send these foul demons BACK TO HELL!!!" the captain bellowed. "You heard the man, LOCK AND LOAD!!!" shouted a nearby sergeant. The company of soldiers roared an earthshaking battle cry in response and charged the demons with renewed strength.

Meanwhile, on the outskirts of the city....

Pascicor's forces continued to slowly emerge from the small portal and he noticed that on the western side of the city, Brutus and his forces began to emerge from a portal Mundus had prepared for him while on the eastern side, Effrenus and his forces did the same, both accompanied by Pascicor's legions of Elite Frost Battlemages. "Brother, it seems that it's going to take much longer for all our forces to arrive and completely assemble. What should we do? It seems that this 'Vergil' has an army of his own" said Algeo. "Don't worry, we still possess a far greater superiority in numbers and like you said, we still have more on the way." replied Pascior. "But we should still do something." complained Algeo. Suddenly, Pascicor fell to his knees as he gripped his head in pain. "But if we take the city, your efforts will be in vain....I see. Wait, it's nightfall, we should....I understand, so you've already planned for that." said Pascicor, as if he were talking to an unseen person. "What was that all about, brother?" asked Algeo as Pascicor slowly rose to his feet. "Mundus has contacted me, apparently this invasion is only supposed to buy time for something he's preparing in hell. He refused to tell me what he was preparing but he did tell me that he has taken advantage of the nightfall in this area." explained Pascicor. "And that is...?" asked Algeo before another portal opened a small distance from the front of their forces. A small army of what seemed to be moving shadows poured from the portal and moved with surprising speed towards the city. "Nightmares and Dopplegangers. The darkness from the night will serve to amplify their powers. They might not be enough to take down the forces of the sons of Sparda, but they should keep our enemies busy in combination with the hoards demons already in the city." Pascicor said. "Ahh, I understand brother, but once the last of our forces arrive and assemble, we should move quickly. You know how Effrenus is." said Algeo with a slight grin on his face.

Pascicor and Algeo looked on as the masses of shadows made their way towards the city.
