Re: DMC movie based on the novel

I used to play soccer during recess in the 5th grade...kinda fun but I never saw it as something that I'd play all the time

football, basketball and paintball however....those are my kind of sports! More paintball recently because I hurt my knee freshmen year and had to have surgery, that means no more football, but paintball seems to still work!

anyways, I just started going through my script to polish it up and as I progress through the story I get more and more excited! I think I really did a good job on this! It is so awesome

for any of you that saw parts of my script already, you might see some subtle changes. Of course it would spoil the fun if I showed all of you my whole script, I think those small bits can keep you company for a while ;)

But just keep in mind that it will be awesome, especially with my perfectionist side going through it

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

ok, sorry for the lack of updates lately ( though I don't have a large fan base waiting eagerly like James does!)

But I took a break from writing, and I just went back to go over the script. I like doing that, it gives me a new perspective on the story. So after going through it I just LOVE it! I can't wait to get some crew to read it...

I have also done some more concept drawings, trying to nail Gilver's costume. Dante is pretty much set, Rebellion, Ebony and Ivory, costume etc (conceptually at least)

I am also working on the monsters, as well as figuring out names for them! At least for labling reasons. one of the more difficult is the replacement for the Monkey demon in the hospital (for any of you that have read the book) I decided that the demon would be too much like our friendly DMC2 beast (the one I can't spell at the moment, lol) So I have decided to go with more of a lizard-like monster. (seeing as how the lesser demons will have some reptilian qualities, not too much though) but its still in the works and I'll probably do a few more ideas before I settle on one.

all-in-all its moving forward. but this is the easy part. The hard part is finding people to make it with and making it will take some pretty big effects.

but its best to not dwell on negatives

wish me luck people! and for crying out loud give me some feedback!

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

    wow...I have so many fans...lol

nah, I 've got some at the devilmaycry.org forum, too lol

anyways, I wanted to give an update on what I am expecting for the characters

firstly, I don't want Vergil and Dante to be copies of the game characters. that is, I don't think mimicking the voice actors will be a good move. Also, the guy who plays Dante MUST play Vergil/Gilver. It will be easy to have doubles with Gilver's bandages.

Dante will be young, roughly 17 or so, and his voice will be deeper ( but not too deep) than DMC3 dante ( just for realism...not that DMC is real!) Vergil/Gilver however...will have a deeper voice to give him more of a mature and masculine quality. It will also throw off any noob suspiscions of Gilver's true identity...this will keep those noobs in the dark.

Young Dante and Vergil will be easier played by young twins...but if I have to have one kid play both it'll be ok.

I dunno if I am just repeating old news, but I needed to make sure I got that point across to see what you guys think

    give me some feedback

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

I think that you should be Vergil cause on your picture you look like him.

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

Although I'd be able ( and willing) to play Vergil...I probably won't. I am told often that I look like the twins...cool....but we'll see ;)

The person who is playing Dante(regardless of who it is) WILL be playing Vergil ( unless he has a twin) because I want to make it as authentic as possible. Sort of like the newer Parent Trap, I will use camera tricks and effects to do battles and conversations.

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

Whoa,Gilver!! I never realized how much you had worked on your script from reading the flashes of your ideas on devilmaycry.org. You are such a meanie, keeping me in the dark for so long..lol

Sorry it took me so long to find this thread. What I'll say is....DAMN YOU ARE AWESOME,DUDE!!!! YOU AND WRATH, YOU BOTH ROCK! Great ideas, great scans, great script, man,you work hard!!

Smart move, not showing the entire script. But can I have a sneak peak? I also write stories and am planning to write a long script featuring Vergil's life, starting right after his mother's death and ending at the end of DMC1. :) So I'm overly curious...the tension is killing me...lol

P.S. The underage drinking scene was bloody brilliant Stick out tongue And wrath's fight scene was awesome, too.Left Hug

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

    I really appreciate your support!

I haven't been posting here because before I'd just be triple posting and so on...lol, no one was here!!

DMC.org had Tony Redgrave and a couple others that would post every day, lol, kept me busy.

but yes, I have been working really hard on all this, but its still wonderful fun. My script is actually completed, I've sent some of the first scenes to some over at dmc.org and they really liked it. I'll see if I can PM you those beginning scenes. but of course I wouldn't want to ruin all of it for you ;)

if you feel like you want more info, check over at devilmaycry.org and see if I left something out when I report over here...sometimes I get scatterbrained, lol.

BTW< I've got new scans up today, if you haven't already seen them at the other site. let me give you a link

Dante: (got this up a couple days ago, got a food stain on it...whoops, )

Vergil: the one I scanned a while back...just with an improvement or two..as well as wrinkles from being stuffed into my notebook

An early concept pic of the Shade demons, all info on them is on dmc.org

Re: DMC movie based on the novel

I have to be really careful when it comes to letting people read my script. So I will occasionally send a scene or two to someone, I'll try to PM a small part to you, to give you an idea about the rest of the story. I don't want to ruin it for you though
