Kobayashi has gone on record to say he will not rush DMC4, despite pressure from the japanese branch of Sony to release as near launch as possible and the obvious desires of fans to get it as soon as possible. In his words: "I understand the desire to play DMC4 right now, but this isn’t just any game, as it says Devil May Cry on the box it has a reputation to live up to, so we won't be rushing development"
He has also promised in the past that he will name a release date shortly after the launch of the PS3. (which, in case you have been under a rock, has already happened in Japan! lol)
GI listed the release date of DMC4 as "Winter 2007", and not only is GI a very reliable source, and not only was the release date placed in an article featuring an interview with Kobayashi himself, but Winter 07 is a perfectly realistic and logical time to release, and is IIRC, totally in keeping with previous Capcom release schedules.
Based on all evidence at hand and prior knowledge of Capcoms business habits, I fully expect DMC4 to be released in November or December 07. A whole year to go yet! Sorry kiddies, lol, at least you know the final product is not a half ass rush job.
