My friend showed me the articles about DMC4 and this nero guy and honestly I'm a little shaken by this new character. Now I do like the idea of Dante being like a side character it's a nice idea that does kinda work. My problem is the Nero guy, he isn't a orignal character, I'm sure alot of yah never played or even heard of a game capcom did a while back called Choas Legion? If yah can find it, check it out, THATS where they got the idea for Nero, this just ripped the main character Sieg, and changed up his looks tweaked his powers, but hell he's the same guy. Sieg and Nero have the same perosnality if what the article says is true, and as for the one arm with the ablity to throw and catch enemies, thats in Chaos Legion as well, though not as advanced as Nero's ablities, Sieg could catch and "hold" eneimes. So it's Sieg with a gun and a new look. I kinda doubt that it was a coincidence either, since both games were done by the Capcom, and CL was described just like Devil May Cry. It's sad when a company rips a character from another, but ripping one from  a failed game of theirs is just as sad. Hey I'm still going to get DMC4 (When I get a PS3 AFTER the price drops considerably) but I'm still shaken by what Capcom did.

hmmm well if what you say is true then they do have a perfect right to do that, mabye the 1 guy in chaos legiens or what didnt do so well and they wanted to revive it, or mabye it did so well they wanted to give the guy to poor deluded vergil, gorgest that theory is sorta crazy, i dont think its evil, if it was that would be completely overated he could have posobly been injured im not sure but mabye it just seems that way altho in DMC3 vergil was obviesly right handed and what your tellin me is nelo (NELO people not NERO) is now left handed... youll have to ask them that cause i dont have a for sure answer but it could just be a mistake in the DMC games

Actually the new character's name is Nero!!!! We're not sure if it is Vergil or not (Vergil also known as Nelo to some) but well, there's definately a strong relation to the two!!!! =S

I got a theory, and please do not bash me for this:

Let's say Nero IS vergil, if you think about it is actually pretty possible. Okay, I know what you are going to say now "He is too young to be Dante's twin brother, plus they look nothing alike. Well I could possibly explain that.... When Mundus took control of Vergil maybe in a way his age did change, but his appearance stayed the same as DMC 3. Which would explain why he looked so young. And he might of possibly lost his memory after being beaten by dante which would be where the story goes from...<_<

- The combo system is supposed to be identical to the last one.
- The enemies are full of special FX, especially the bosses (apparently they saw a Flaming "Minotaur"-probably the one from the scans)

okay, so from what I've been reading it looks to me like Nero's should be some type of side story and he should have a different hair color or something. Now that it has been mentioned, he does sound like sieg, but sieg was cool because 1 he could summon the chaos legion and 2 he was an original character for an origional game. so I'm startin to feel like this should be DMC: Holy Order or something you noe? I mean it's not about playing as the devil may cry shop owner (repeating, yes I noe) but it still KINDA ties in with the DMC story. I dun have a problem with the game itself, honestly I don't. I just have a problem with it being a numbered DMC title where Dante is no longer the main character. If they looked at the game more like a japanese anime or manga or something, I think they would have a better since of what fans, at least the american cult majority, want. I mean, no problem with new characters and no problem with side stories, but when you get to the main game, give us the characters and continuation of story we want. I mean, I think it would be awsome to have dante come back from hell (end of DMC 2) finding vergil and fighting and/or bringing him back and saying to hell with the rules of the dead. or something like that. I mean, it looks like they want to bring lady back (maybe she or trish die and Dante gets depressed in DMC2?) and vergil too, but how are they going to do that now? If they DON'T, then that basically gurantees the return of Dante and crew in the DMC story as main characters after 4 because capcom's DMC staff said they wanted fans to like Vergil because they had no plans of just letting him die off. So I say it should be okay, I'll just have to look at it as a DMC side story, kinda like onimusha 2 and DoD

well, maybe the reason that nero and dante are on opposite sides is that the knights that nero is in league with are plotting something evil or something and dante found out about it and is trying to stop it, while nero still thinks he's on the right side, but is really just being used or something.

(merely a probable plot twist to explain why dante could possibly be any kind of enemy character, because i won't give up on him yet)

and if nero is vergil, maybe he really didn't appear to age when he was under mundus' control, like darkslayer said

here's a bit of clue...

it is written that nero and his group are trying to "UNDO" the seal of sparda right? but aren't they suppose to be on the good  side, being a sect that believes sparda is a "god"? (correct me if the info is wrong)

so if they are trying to "UNDO" sparda's seal then that would justify dante's action of slaughtering all of nero's allies right?

also on the IGN article's it was written that "The Dante shown at TGS is actually not the Dante that we will be seeing in Devil May Cry 4. The TGS character was made as an extension of Devil May Cry 3's "young Dante" in order to show what the development staff could do with the PS3 hardware." Guess they were developing a new character at that time but didn't announce it yet or just decided to go with that character as the main instead of using the "OLD" dante which many of us found very unappealing (DMC2).

 I still have a feeling it (DMC4) is just a side story... much like Castlevania: COD... though if they really intended to make a new character why make in the likeness of the "OLD" hero's? They could have just made a new look with new powers and abilities right? And for what? to keep the appeal of DMC? if the appeal of DMC is "silver hair, long red coat, 2 guns and a big sword" then that only means one thing right? DANTE is the appeal of DMC...

Other clue is; why is it that on the official website both dante and nero are posted? I think we'll be seeing two separate gameplay here and two storyline... same as on the previous DMC games... That would make a bit of sense right?

CAPCOM will keep teasing us all the ways upto the release of this game that's for sure.... I have to admit it's working though... It made a lot of noise...

and like i've said before (though off topic) DMC2 really should have been a side story with dante as an unlockable, because it was all about lucia anyway. but if my theory is correct, and dante is definately playable with his own storyline, than DMC4 should be good as is to me so far

But you have to hate them for making you spend allot of money to get a PS3, just to play one freaking game...

it's likely that CAPCOM played this game on the safe side... why you asked? well, as much as we can see DMC4 is or likely will be a hell of a game right? Especially for the "NEW" fans, the only thing their trying to keep in check on is us the "OLD" fans... If we'll like the change in the series they'd like;y stick with it... If we don't and claim Dante as a better main they can always crawl dante back in and may likely to claim (as we are hoping) that DMC4 is just a side story and they'd give the "NEW" fans an idea of who dante is...

So they may be playing it this way... But! it's a hell of a gamble if you ask my opinion...

 There's no doubt in my mind that DMC4 will be a great game... The only question is, will it satisfy the "LOYAL" fans... some maybe, others maybe not...
