Vergil is alright... he's too easy to master. He's so damn powerful it takes the fun out of it. I much prefer Dante's trickster.

Maybe it's just me... Have you guys ever noticed that Hard and Very Hard mode is ridiculously easy? Say for LV. 20 'cause Vergil's an ass, but am I right or what?

I think people vary in how good they are at playing.  When you first get the game, Hard and Very Hard mode can seem really really difficult to even play through.  Now for me, playing through those modes is totally easy.  Getting SS on those modes, that's not completely easy and is quite a challenge on Very Hard I think.  But for really experienced players, DMD mode is where it is at for challenge.  But it only makes sense when you think about it, that if someone is so good that they can get SS on DMD mode, then easier difficulties will seem easy by comparison.  The game allows for all abilities of player.  So I don't think that Hard and Very Hard are inherently easy, they are a challenge for the right level of player, but they are easy for very experienced players.

Yeah, simply playing through Very Hard mode (without worrying about ratings) is super duper easy once you know enough about attack patterns, and have good enough reactions to avoid getting hit consistently.  Getting to level 9,999 is no joke, yeah I think that players who are able to do that must be able to laugh at Very Hard mode, especially the missions 9,000+ when all the enemies are DT, it takes quite a while to wipe them out. I really hope they continue with the same set of difficulty levels for DMC4!  It just raises the longevity of the game so much to have that level of punishing challenge.

Funny you should mention that, I heard some bull s*** that they were making DMC4 easier. WTF! They're gonna screw us vets because of some bull s*** some players said about it being too hard!? They've played all the games up to now, haven't they!? I'll bet there's not one complaining player that hasn't beat te game at least once! Bull man, bull...

As far as I know, they are making the game easier to start with, so it has a nicer learning curve for new players.  But they intend to have it get just as hard as DMC3 by the end.  DMC3 put you in at the deep end right away, and didn't really have a learning curve, more like a learning mountain

Tried to do it a 2nd time with a different setup.  I was using Artemis, Spiral, Beowulf and Rebellion and using Gunslinger.  I got to level 9,200.  I was quite happy :) I am just learning how to use Artemis, lots of charging stuff up

I barely beat it (with vergil) on the 9000+ floors, I fought the Vanguard trio twice -_-. (btw the costume I was using was the one u get when u beat hard)

When I fought Vergil at the bottom, my health was so low I thought I was dead. I couldn't even see whatever sliver of health was left. lol.

btw did anyone notice that Vergil at the 9999th floor seems easier then the M20-DMD one? Maybe it's just me....

i only got to 1900.

i get to boss 2 and i fail.

maybe its a mental block. it was with the cube room. i put on trickster and all the potenial for trickster gets to me and i choke.

so i did it on geryon. no pressure.

so what combinations for dante do you recommend. i usually have cerberus and agni and ruddra.

thing is i dont like agni and rudra as much as rebellion. i prefer great swords.but they are the best for angels.

maybe beowulf and other.

nevan is quite hard exept against slow moving enemies. but so much fun!

but i prefer spiral to kalina ann. its bigger range, more accuracy.

i have ebony and ivory most, most flexible.

and gunslinger is o much fun.

but geryon most useful. or doppleganger.

so did anyone get to 9999?

vergil has more potenial to get to the end.

i was going to use the super corrupt vergil via a cheat but it didnt work. hah, just have to unlock him the normal way. ill feel better in my honesty that way.

well, the only problem with vergil is that on enemys that guns are very helpful for, he has a hard time. (I'm talking about DT'd Fallen) anyway, with the super/sparda costumes, bloody place isn't that tough. (well maybe the last 1000 floors but...)

yeah! i got to close to 3000 on bloody palace with vergil.

vergil is awesome , hes so strong and flexible. i even beat that monster 2nd cerberus.
