as for the mach ore, its eas to find, just mine, or trade the swamp elder med bones for it. i used to do this ( get piscine fangs, trade them to the F&H elder for med bones, trade them to the Swamp elder for Mach ore ) but mining is easier.

    ITS ACTUALLY PISCINE JAW****

What tips do you have for fighting a Plesioth? I can never seem to draw it out of the water. And by the way, thanks for all this help.

Re: Monster Hunter, need the guidence of a pro/player

ah the plesoith,  like i would have said before when i killed my first one, he does boast incredible attack pwoer but he's defense is poor as, so as long as you can land combos he will fall soon.

My way to kill this guy is as follows:

    Clear the annoying Genprey!!!

Throw sonic bombs to make him fly out the water, paintball him and land some damage! You can also catch him in a pitfall trap, but the thing is, he doesn't charge you, so the only way to get him in the trap is to lay one down after he flies out the water and is having a fit. that way you can set up lg barrel bombs and blow him sky high. stay close to the water's edge when he dives under, and throw sonics to get him out, if your close he shuldn't water spit u and makes your job easier. Also, when the eye icon vanishes off the screen, that is good! get out your frogs and go fishing! This is the best fishing ever, your eyes will be glued to the frog, looking for even the slightest movement, well rest easy, you will now when he has grabbed the frog, coz it gets sucked down at high speeds, hit (X) and struggle to throw him up on land! Land damage, i use a GS and do combos under him, hes so big dodgind his tail is rather easy, just make sure to get out the way when he's gonna body thump you. the fight isn't a hard one, it might take 10-15 mins, as he swims around alot and his hard to land a Sonic on him.

remember to use your items, u didn't bring them just to wait space.

and no worries for all the help. Tell me when u need more, like when you reach harder quests like Monoblos and the secret quests.

    The Monoblos...

-Shudders- And I thought the Rathalos would be hard enough. At first, I thought the Rathalos was the game's toughest wyvern.

Re: Monster Hunter, need the guidence of a pro/player

First bring plenty of Sonic bombs as it flushes him out and make the fight more manageable also the bombs the chest gives isn't enough.

If you dont have any make them by killing Kut-ku and getting the Screamers and combining them with bomb material which is mad by combining fire herd and nitroshroom.

Cut tail as it give you an extra carve and get rid of the tail hit therefore making it easier to hit the rear. dont forget to knock horns of as It might give you Majestic which is rare.

Any ways on combat hit the horns and tail whenever he burrows try to hit him witha sonic bomb quickly so he can pop ou then hit him
if he escapes from the sonic bomb watch out and observe the ground for the "trail he makes and get out the way as it is LEATHAL!

Trust me on that bit I've been killed that way more times than by any other way. If would be advisible to bring a farcaster to save potions
anyways if your nervous about being hit while sharpening or healing get out of the area.

Re: Monster Hunter, need the guidence of a pro/player

a lot of the things u just said, were wrong for the Monster Hunter were talking about. If you are talking about Monster Hunter for PS2, you made some errors. firstly, to make sonic bombs, u need screamers and gun powder, and as for the Monoblos's horn, its called a Crimson Horn, and u get when u break it off during the fight, it appears in the rewards screen. It wont "might" give you one, its garunteed to give you one. And as for his attack where he leaps at you from underground... that ins't lethal. but best to avoid it like all atacks.

    Devil's_blade07, heres my way:

I forgot the area he starts in, what ever it is, go there, you get the intro, Firstly paintball him, and run towards the ledge. There, he will try to ram you and get his horn stuck in the wall, this is a good time to start hitting it, im pretty sure no matter what wep u have, its just gonna bounce, but keep hitting it. u culd lay down a large barrel bomb, that shuld so sum good damage to his horn. When on the ledge, Genprey are going to piss u off coz they will keep stunning u, aswell as the annoying vespoids!! and when the Monoblos comes charging at the wall, stand back a bit, coz u can still get hit. If the Horn breaks there, he might keep charging, if he does, he cant get stuck in the wall again so be carefull.

When he runs, sharpen and heal and follow him. When he does run away he is usually underground, so run after him with Sonics at the ready and make him burst up the ground. You can land more hits in at that time as he will be stuck halfway. He can be easily be stunned by a flash bomb, so they are usefull for laying down sum large bombs under him or just hitting/shooting him.when he dives, try to throw a sonic at him asap, if u dont have time to find and throw your sonic, dont stand there like an idiot trying to find them in your inventory, either face him and block, yes this attack is blockable, or run like hell to the side, usually he only attacks in a straight line.

If u can, remove his tail, i find his tail to be the easiest tail to remove in the game, probably coz his tail is the only tail that i have removed, countless times. Also break that horn off!! Crimson horns are valuable and usefull.

When he goes into rage mode, do your best to dodge his attacks, he charges at incredible speed, the further away you are from him when goes to charge you, the more likely your going to get hit, coz he has more time to turn. so the best thing to do when he is in this mode is to stay close, not too close, keep out of reach from a tail swing. and you shound't get hit by any of his attacks.

if u keep laying down the damage on him, he will fall in due time.  His chest area can be opened up, and i presume that it increases your chances of getting a Monoblos heart, somehting i am yet to aqquire. Though i keep attacking at his chest area, its almost impossible to break open, i havnt broken it open once!

The main rules for this guy: Keep him paintballed at all times, Throw sonics asap when he dives underground, remove his horn, its worth removing, avoid rage mode, sharpen and heal everytime he leaves, your weapon will be getting blunt very easily against this guy, clear the genprey and aptonoths or what ever else is in your way from surroudning areas. NOTE: Pitfall traps do not work on him.

You should be able to beat this guy, you beat the Rathalos, he wasn't to much of a challange right? this guy is the same deal. I personally love this quest, the most fun i've had in the whole game! You will pass this quest, u might die once or twice at first, if u do, i advise u abandon, reload, and try again, coz u shuld be able to get used to his moves and do better next time around.

Good luck with the quest! I advise bringing 10 Mega potions, 10 normal potions, 10 sonics, as much as possible screamers and gunpowder, 5 flash bombs, whet stones, and cooked meats. They are the basic requirements that u shuld bring for your first time with this guy. Oh yeah almost forgot, thsi guy doesn't do elemental damage, and doesn't take elemental damage, so take what gives the most attack and defense.

Not true. Even in Rage mode, the Rathalos is pathetically easy to dodge. It's only when there's other monsters around, especially Nelynx, that it gets harder, or at least more annoying. I have the balls to keep fighting. But the tricky part when using a Bowgun against him is when you're using Pellet ammo. You need to be pretty close to get good hits, so you need quick reflexes to avoid a charge.

Re: Monster Hunter, need the guidence of a pro/player

yeah your right there, but one time when i slashing under him he managed to charge me, and i was pinned against the wall, and since he was in rage mode he got up faster and was ready to charge again before i had a chance to move and was bassicly stuck in a charge loop, where he killed me. but yeah that was before, now i kill a Rathalos in a matter of minutes, and you proboably do too.

but the Rath's in "A Trublesome Pair" they can litterally kill you in a matter of seconds! The raths in this quest aren't like normal raths, their speed is the same, but attack power and defence has to be atleast twice as strong. I can kill a normal Rath in minutes, these things, take me oh like half an hour just to kill one Rath.

Wait til you get up to this quest, its like nothing else.

Re: Monster Hunter, need the guidence of a pro/player

I cut off the end of the Basarios' tail once, and carved a piece of Machalite Ore from it. But I haven't beaten it yet.

I've tried the Plesioth a number of times, without success.

The swamp Rathian is just damn tough. All those Genprey and Ioprey are really annoying.

At the moment, I have two Great Swords. The Great Serpentblade, my trademark GS, and I've developed the other one as far as possible. That second one is the Golem Blade. I can't upgrade it further, because the Golem Blade+ requires a Blos Fang.

Here's something worth reading. Today, I completed the 3-star Slay the Velociprey quest. What's so special about that, I hear you ask? I'll tell you. There are two kickers to this. The first is that I wasn't wearing any armour or carrying any items. The second is that I didn't get hit once.

well do you have wyvern marraow or elec sac cuz cuz they make elemental swords both fire and electrciy is Plesioth's weaknesses

for  ian use trap and bombs  cut tail so she wont poison you.

Re: Monster Hunter, need the guidence of a pro/player

I told you, make the Great Serpent Blade, coz your gonna get stuck on the Golem Blade needing a Blos Fang. so good stuff they u made both, now keep to the Serpent blade until you kill a Monoblos, when u do kill a monoblos try to carve one his fangs for a Blos Fang, then continue the line until you reach the Seigmund, the best sword ever. Its better than the Seiglinde so when the opitunity comes to make the Seigmund, make it straight away.

your so good not to get hit lol, man u shuld be able to kill V-prey one shot so of course you didn't get hit. I think i can kill genprey 1 shot, and Ioprey 2 shots.

The Basarios is easy as hell, The plesoith is a bit of a challange, may take u a few tries, the Rathian, is the hardest out of the 3. Basarious is easy as, you can tell by the reward money, and your wanna get used to killing this guy coz you can get 50 mach, 70 Earth, 100+ iron if you keep doing it all day long. There are so many mining locations, and u culd even mine a Ruststone in Area 8, so its worth it.

Ok for the plesoith, i have mentioned my method, keep to it.

as for the Basarious, read on.... ( u might wanna print this coz it works, ( like all the rest of my tactics ) )

go to area 2, clear the Ioprey, and set up a Pitfall trap, and paintball him. He will come up out the ground, angry.  stand near your pitfall trap and make the Basarious go charging straight into it, set up 2 lg barrel bombs and u shuld be able to blow his chest plate off 1 shot!! if the lg barrel bombbs wern't placed propably and didn't blow it off, set up one more and that shuld do the trick.

Now then, you see them wierd rocks sticking out the ground? if u kick them they spark, and if they spark, they explode! so stand behind one and make the basarious charge right into one, there are 4 i think, if u want, set up lg barrel bombs around it for an even bigger boom when the basarious hits it.

Now when you have used all these explosive rocks up, u wuld have done considerable damage to him, and shuldnt have taken any damage yourself. now if u have the materials, make another pit-trap and lg bombs and blow at his open chest, ths is gonna hurt him, if your a gunner, you know where to aim, so you might wanna shoot sum exposive rounds or what ever right into it, but if u use a GS, chanses r your gonna hit somehting rocky and repel so the bombs work great!

once you have used all your traps, try throwing a flash and setting up even more bombs, but if your outa them too, just take ths time to hit him after u flash him. there is no method now, keep hitting him, and avoid his poison attack. this attack is very easy to dodge, but sometimes when  u try to roll u might get caught near his wing. u shuld be able to tell when he is going to poison coz he takes a step back and prepares for it, ( not sure what he does, but its a fixed step so u will get used to it, ( its like the rathalos's fast turn slow turn ) ) now, when he goes to charge, ( you shuld be used to this action ) simply get out the way. and keep the damage going, he will fall in no time, especially is u keep using all the items i listed. i usally only use 1 trap and 3 bombs.

he will fall in no time, especially if u hit his open chest, keep the damage there and you will defeat him. Remember to bring antidotes!!

As for the Rathian, um... think of her, as a him. She is just like the Rathalos, apart from some moves u must no about.

1st move, her backflip, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! this move is awesome!! but isn't good for you. she does a backflip, thrusting herself thru the air, sending you flying, and then she lands on you! and to make it worse, it poisosn you. When she takes the steps back, move move move move!!! this is your que to get the hell outa there coz shes gonna back flip.

2nd move, and easily the most annoying.... Multi charge!!!  When the Rathalos charges you, he falls over, when the rathian charges you, she might fall over, or stop charging if she missed u, quickly turn around, and try to charge you again, and if she misses you again, she will charge again! its a continous 3 way charge, a bit difficult to avoid, but u shuld be able to.

3rd move, her 3 shot fireball. She does a single shot fireball and 3 shots. The 1 shot, is fired in a straight line, and goes far as usal. the 3 shot, is fired diagnol left and right, and forwards, but has very short range.

Thats all for now! Good luck!

basarious = easy, plesoith = hits hard, weak defense, Rathian = A challenge

Re: Monster Hunter, need the guidence of a pro/player

I did the "Handle with care Quest" 1 shot and i passed it, one run too, i didn't drop the stone once so it was quik and easy. but my heart was beating like crazy when i was avaiding the bullfango lol. I got 3 ruststones form the quest, not one a rusted weapon!! I have never got a Rusted weapon! All i need is one, coz im sure that if i dont get the one i want ( Rusted GS, which becomes an Ancient Blade 120 earth crystals later ) i can quit, load, pass a quest, and try again.

yeah good stuff not getting hit, but thats rather easy as hell. the only things that shuld hit u r wyvrens, eveyrhing else takes a max of 3 shots to kill. The only thing that can take more than 3 shots and isn't a wyvren are the Dromes (eg:Velocidrome). but they dont hit me either. the only time something weak might hit u is if your attention is on somehting stronger such as a wyvren or Drome.

Im probably gonna kill the Gypceros a few times and make Mega juices so i can keep trying to get a Rusted Weapon from the Handle with Care quest. When i do get a Rusted GS, i'll get 120 earth crystals, which will be easy, and make my Ancient blade! 912 attack power! awesome sharpness! best offline sword!!! i cant wait to own one.

Follow my wyvren tactics and they will fall. i dont have one for the Rathian, but its similar to the Rathalos so shuldnt be hard, and remember the 3 moves i mentioned she does. Especially the backflip, ill say this again avoid at all costs!
